Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

Shen Xiubai provided a solution that kills two birds with one stone.

Shen Yuan nodded and said, ”Great Grandfather will try this later.”

”Your presence here...”

Meeting his gaze, Shen Xiubai waved his hand lightly, and the void in front of him twisted. Immediately, more than ten jade scrolls suddenly appeared from the void, neatly arranged on the desk before him.

”This is the Array Dao inheritance Xiubai agreed to give Great Grandfather earlier.”

”The top seven volumes can be disseminated throughout the clan. Those who comprehend these volumes will attain an expertise in the Array Dao not inferior to Master Fu Yang and Elder Jiang.”

”The bottom five volumes comprise the core of the entire Array Dao inheritance.”

”Most of them contain Xiubai’s understanding of the ancient Array Dao fragments passed down by Master Fu Yang, along with his insights into the world and temporal space gained during the decades he spent crafting the Five Elements Secret Realm.”

”As for these five volumes...”

”Xiubai makes no demands, confident that Great Grandfather and our Shen Family’s future patriarchs will surely know what to do.”

”These twelve volumes of array inheritance, Xiubai names ’Celestial Circulation Ten Directions Escape and Concealment Mystical Pivot Sutra.’

Listening to his explanation, and gazing at the twelve jade scrolls in front of him, Shen Yuan felt a complex mix of emotions.

Over the years, he had also studied the Array Dao.

Understanding quite well that array formations are even more monotonous and dull compared to the Path of Great Derivation.

Shen Xiubai, alone, had isolated himself in the Five Elements Secret Realm for decades, while expending his heart spirit to complete the Secret Realm, and simultaneously researching to compile such a thorough and detailed Array Dao inheritance.

The loneliness and tedium of those decades was certainly a torment that ordinary people would find unbearable.

Yet the current situation of the entire Shen Family was such that no one was able to help him. The only thing they could do was provide him with everything he required externally as much as possible.

”Great Grandfather, keep these things well, Xiubai will return for now.”

”Once you have completely refined the Treasure Seal, feel free to find Xiubai in the back mountains.”

After Shen Xiubai slightly cupped his hands, there was a hint of nostalgia in his eyes, and his form gradually dimmed until it completely disappeared.

Shen Yuan reached out his hand, opened and closed his mouth a few times, only to find that the figure before him was already gone.

”Alas!”

Lowering his hand slowly, gazing at the twelve jade scrolls before him, he meditated for a moment, his body surface flickering with spiritual power as he transmitted a message to Shen Chongming.

The old man transmitted the message late at night, suggesting something urgent was afoot, so Shen Chongming dared not delay and hurried to the second floor of the Black Water Pavilion.

”Grandfather.”

After cupping his hands, Shen Chongming’s gaze fell upon the Treasure Seal and neatly placed jade scrolls on the desk before him.

”Sit down.”

Shen Yuan gestured, indicating he should take a seat.

”These twelve jade scrolls are a complete set of Array Dao inheritance delivered by Xiubai.”

”Xiubai’s intention is that seven of them can be made available for all cultivators in the clan to learn.”

”But this is his life’s work.”

”The arts should not be lightly disseminated, and the inheritance of the Hundred Skills of Cultivation must also become one of the means by which our Shen Family controls the affiliated family cultivators.”

”You should take it back and set up an enrollment threshold, then pass this Array Dao onto the cultivators under our governance.”

”If there truly are exceptional geniuses in the Array Dao among the affiliated noble families, find a way to bring them under the Shen Family. They can then be granted the bottom five volumes.”

After Shen Chongming complied by cupping his hands, he took the seven jade scrolls with the lighter colors.

”In addition, have someone find an excellent piece of Spirit Jade for me.”

After settling the Array Dao matters, Shen Yuan remembered Shen Xiubai mentioning he needed to refine sub-seals for the Treasure Seal.

Shen Chongming was curious about the purpose of the Spirit Jade but seeing the old man’s heart seemed somewhat heavy, he didn’t dare ask further.

He nodded again in agreement.

”Is there anything else Grandfather wishes to instruct?”

With Shen Yuan’s gaze meeting his own, he lowered his brows and meditated for a moment before speaking, ”Has the Alchemy Dao inheritance that Chonghong brought from Huaisang years ago never been passed down within our Shen Family?”

Hearing this, Shen Chongming was taken aback and mildly shook his head, saying, ”Grandson intended to see if Xiusi, Yuangui, and other younger generations possess any talent in this regard...”

”Don’t wait disappointingly for the few people at home.” He interrupted him sternly, ”You heard about Li’Er encountering Outer World Cultivators in Flame Lake City recently, didn’t you?”

Shen Chongming nodded without speaking.

”Li’Er described that those Outer World Cultivators surpass us in Yangnao Land, both in the Hundred Skills of Cultivation and their cultivation system inheritance.”

”Once the Yangnao Land Dao collapses, if things are as expected, our Shen Family will interact with numerous powerful secret realms and anciently transmitted small worlds.”

”In facing them, all of Shen Family’s existing weaknesses will be fatal flaws.”

”By that time there may not be so many relations we could leverage.”

Shen Chongming’s expression became heavy.

These prospects were indeed broader than he had envisioned.

”Our Shen Family governs nine cities with millions of common people; it is high time we truly examine the ground situation.”

”Entrust this task to Shen Xiuyan.”

Slowly standing, Shen Yuan walked to the window, gazing at the starlit night sky in the distance and spoke solemnly.

Shen Chongming rose, cupped his hands, ”Understood.”

”Go about your tasks.” Shen Yuan lightly waved his hand.

...

In the old residence, within a wing room.

With a stern expression and rarely speaking, Shen Xiuyan furrowed his brows suddenly upon hearing Shen Chongming’s words.

Seeing this, Shen Chongming smiled blandly, ”Is there a problem?”

Shen Xiuyan cupped his hands slightly, ”Nephew lacks familiarity with the major affiliated noble families under our governance, and certain decisions might be biased.”

Pausing, he continued, ”Great Grandfather is likely to have other intentions in entrusting this task to nephew, afraid to fail his sincere efforts.”

After hearing, Shen Chongming laughed.

”No need to overthink, he merely provides you an opportunity for paving the way.”

”Just proceed with your given task, as for the concerns you have, uncle and other elders of the family support you, even if mistakes are made, they won’t cause such a big stir.”
