Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

”Xiwu City is indeed a good place, but after careful consideration these days, I believe that with our current strength in Qiyun Valley, we cannot hold onto that place.”

”This time I went to the mountain to set up arrays for those demon cultivator friends, and I plan to find a suitable place in the mountain to temporarily move Qiyun Valley there.”

”As for Spirit Fields and such, Qiyun Valley is now supplying elixirs to the various Shen Family clans, the spirit crystals and spirit rice received should be enough for the daily cultivation needs of the disciples in the sect.”

”This doesn’t need to be considered for now.”

Shen Chongming nodded upon hearing this.

The number of disciples in Qiyun Valley is indeed not many now, merely relying on the rewards for providing elixirs to various affiliated clans is sufficient for their daily cultivation needs.

During the battle at Celestial Aromatic Mountain, Xiwu City was greatly affected, with half the city walls turned into ruins.

Although the great battle has ended now, the common people in the city either died or fled.

After Qiyun Valley moves back, it will require a tremendous cost to rebuild.

Hidden Dragon Mountain doesn’t have many Spirit Fields for the disciples of Qiyun Valley to plant Spirit Rice on a daily basis, but without caring for the Spirit Fields, the disciples can spend a lot of time on cultivation.

As long as cultivation is improved, providing elixirs to various affiliated clans to sustain themselves in the future is not a problem.

”Everything is as the senior wishes.”

Thinking it over, Shen Chongming spoke with a smile.

When Qiyun Valley was accepted as an affiliated power, Shen Yuan instructed.

Not to interfere with their development.

Pei Zhao expressed gratitude upon hearing this, and clasped his hands, saying, ”Thank you, Patriarch.”

”Now that I’m free, why not go to those demon cultivator friends’ habitat now, after determining the surrounding major trends of heaven and earth, I will proceed with setting up arrays for them.”

Shen Chongming nodded, and the two immediately flew towards the mountain using Wind Manipulation.

...

Flame Lake City.

When Shen Wen’an landed in the city using Sword Control, He Zhongyi and Shen Xiuyun were arguing.

”Our focus should still be on ancient artifact refining, at least wait until we can refine middle-grade magical artifacts for the family, then consider combining ancient methods and modern techniques,” He Zhongyi said with a stern expression.

Beside him, Shen Xiuyun shook his head repeatedly.

”Uncle, these two things don’t conflict.”

”You and I, as uncle and nephew, one can lead the city’s cultivators to continue crafting magical artifacts for the family using ancient methods.”

”Another can focus on comprehending the new method of combining ancient methods and modern techniques for artifact refining.”

After a slight pause, Shen Xiuyun continued, ”Uncle Zhongyi had experience in refining array pearls with Xiubai in Yunshui City, with this experience, you can easily achieve success on the new method!”

Facing his hopeful expression, He Zhongyi refused without hesitation, ”You need to understand, the family has spent a considerable price to support the many cultivators in Flame Lake City, we need to shoulder the responsibility of laying a solid foundation for the family’s Artifact Refining Dao and supplying magical artifacts to the family’s cultivators!”

”Currently, in the entire Flame Lake City, those who can steadily refine lower grade magical artifacts, including you and I, are fewer than a handful.”

”Refining middle-grade magical artifacts requires the comprehension of Tier Two Artifact Patterns, be honest, when can you comprehend Tier Two Artifact Patterns?”

Facing He Zhongyi’s gaze, Shen Xiuyun was dumbfounded.

He also wasn’t sure when he could comprehend Tier Two Artifact Patterns.

Seeing him not respond, He Zhongyi spoke again, ”Even if you miraculously comprehend a Tier Two Artifact Pattern in three to five years, then what?”

”Ancient refining methods have twelve basic artifact patterns, deriving over a hundred Tier Two Artifact Patterns, can the one Tier Two Artifact Pattern you comprehend meet the needs of the family’s cultivators?”

Shen Xiuyun hung his head in silence.

He Zhongyi sighed slightly and patted his shoulder, saying, ”Xiuyun, Uncle knows your thoughts.”

”But everything must be done on a stable foundation before boldly innovating.”

”Do not end up failing at the new method and also delaying our comprehension of the ancient method.”

”If one day, because we fail to provide suitable magical artifacts for the family’s cultivators, causing the family’s expansion and maintenance to be affected, you and I will become sinners of the family.”

Shen Xiuyun nodded quietly.

After the uncle and nephew finished their argument, they noticed Shen Wen’an not far away.

”Third Uncle?”

He Zhongyi saw Shen Wen’an in the distance with the Cyan Yuan Sword Nurturing Gourd on his back, smiling silently, and immediately stood up, clasped his hands in salute.

Shen Xiuyun also realized, followed by clasping his hands in salute: ”Third Master.”

”When did you come?”

Shen Wen’an took slow steps towards them and said softly, ”Been a while, I heard your argument.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Xiuyun’s previously disheartened eyes suddenly sparkled with a hint of hope.

”So, does Third Master think Xiuyun’s idea is feasible?”

Shen Wen’an shook his head slightly.

”Listen to your Uncle Zhongyi.”

”The energy of us cultivators is limited, wanting to run before learning to walk is destined for a great tumble.”

Pausing slightly, he continued, ”You strongly advocate the new method of artifact refining, but have you ever thought about what if the artifacts refined by the new method are inferior to both ancient and modern methods, then what to do?”

Shen Xiuyun was stunned upon hearing this.

This point he truly hadn’t considered.

Indeed, as Third Master said, if a lot of time is wasted researching a new method, and the artifacts crafted are ultimately unsuitable, it would be a huge loss.

”Third Master saying this is not to discourage you.”

”You can keep the idea of the new method in mind, even try a thing or two in your spare time.”

”But you absolutely cannot put all your energy into it.”

”Behind us is the family, everything must prioritize the family’s interests.”
