Crafting an Immortal Race with Daily Hexagrams

Shen Xiubai persisted.

The nearby disciples of Luoxia Mountain didn’t say much more.

Either way, even if the elixir was fortuitously refined, they certainly wouldn’t consume it.

Following Shen Xiubai’s instructions, they first added the Profound One True Water into the pill furnace, then slowly formed formulas to urge the fire at the bottom of the furnace.

”Yes, a big flame is needed to let the steam of the Profound One True Water penetrate the elixirs.”

”Senior Brother Liu, you must always keep an eye on the furnace’s seal, don’t let the Profound One True Water leak out.”

Shen Xiubai instructed from the side, keeping the Luoxia Mountain disciples busy.

Time passed by bit by bit until a rich pill fragrance wafted from the pill furnace. The disciple responsible for controlling the fire turned around and said to Shen Xiubai, ”Young Master Xiubai, it’s about ready.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Xiubai pondered slightly before saying, ”Then proceed with opening the furnace to check the elixir as per the previous steps, brothers.”

The disciple controlling the fire withdrew the spells, slowly extinguishing the flame at the bottom of the furnace.

Someone had already skillfully opened the lid of the pill furnace.

The peculiar scent unique to Profound One True Water surged forth, immediately overpowering the light fragrance of the elixir, causing the disciples of Luoxia Mountain and Shen Xiubai to frown unconsciously.

Misty steam dispersed, and the Liu-named disciple promptly used a technique to control the elixirs inside the furnace, gently lifting them up.

”Hmm—”

”Is this black, clumsy thing really an elixir?”

”This smell is quite overwhelming!”

Looking at the two strange elixirs, pockmarked and jet-black as ink, floating above the pill furnace, the Luoxia Mountain disciples were quite disdainful.

However, Shen Xiubai eagerly took those two elixirs, held them at his fingertips, and examined them closely.

”It has the aura of Profound One True Water...”

”If ingested, one could absorb the Profound One True Water contained in the elixirs, with the heart belonging to fire, water and fire mutually aid...”

”No... still need one more elixir to suppress kidney water!”

Putting away the two pills in his hand, Shen Xiubai immediately tossed out a pill formula and said, ”I trouble you brothers to help open the furnace again and refine an elixir.”

”This time, Flame Stone needs to be added.”

They took a look at the pill formula. Although it felt rather absurd, Elder Luo Yao had already instructed them to follow Shen Xiubai’s arrangements. Although there were grievances in their hearts, they dared not say anything more and immediately took out the spirit herbs and medicines according to the pill formula’s instructions.

Then they cleaned the pill furnace, washing away the remaining properties from before, and began preparing for alchemy.

”This Great Yellow Grass, Green Source Fruit, Earth Qi and other ingredients are all water attribute spirit medicines. Adding Flame Stone isn’t it a waste of things...”

As they prepared the ingredients, they murmured to themselves.

Shen Xiubai ignored them, only writing and drawing on a piece of paper, as if recording something.

Moments later, the second batch of elixirs began refining.

As a disciple added the crushed Flame Stone into the pill furnace, a strand of spiritual power surged within the furnace.

Soon, this spiritual power grew stronger and stronger.

”Not good!”

”The furnace is about to explode!”

At the edge of the pill furnace, the disciples of Luoxia Mountain sensed the situation inside the furnace and their expressions instantly changed.

Boom!

Before they could put up a spiritual power shield, a terrifying force burst forth from the pill furnace!

The pill furnace was instantly shattered, and everyone around it was blown away by a powerful energy ripple!

”Cough, cough, cough!”

”Young Master Xiubai, are you alright?”

The slightly disheveled group got up and helped the black-faced Shen Xiubai.

Shen Xiubai shook his head slightly and said, ”I’m fine, brothers, are you all okay?”

They checked each other out, and seeing that apart from some messiness, no one was injured, they all burst into laughter.

For a pill master, an exploding furnace is the most normal thing.

It’s just that the power of this explosion was quite large and rapid, catching them off guard.

”Water and fire do not mix, those spirit medicines are water attribute, and Flame Stone is fire attribute. When the two meet, the furnace explosion is inevitable.”

The Liu-named disciple dusted off his robes and spoke.

”What are you little fellows fussing about?”

The commotion from the furnace explosion immediately caught Jiang Xiuqi’s attention.

He walked into the courtyard, but upon seeing the mess and the soiled group, he couldn’t help but frown and ask.

Upon seeing him, the disciples of Luoxia Mountain stood fearfully to the side, respectfully saluting.

”Ancestor.”

Jiang Xiuqi nodded slightly and glanced at the black-faced Shen Xiubai: ”Xiubai lad, what’s going on here?”

After saluting, Shen Xiubai replied, ”To report to the senior, this junior thought of a way last night that may solve the problem of weak five viscera in cultivators, hindering their ability to become an array base.”

”Oh?” Jiang Xiuqi was somewhat surprised at these words.

He was just about to inquire further when he looked toward the younger ones standing respectfully beside him.

”Clean up this place, would you?”

”You go change and clean yourself up, then come find this old man in the tower.”

...

At the Seven Layer Tower.

A gleam flashed in Jiang Xiuqi’s eyes, and after pondering, he said in a deep voice: ”You mean to refine the items needed for the array base into elixirs and use these spiritual materials essence qi as the array base?”

Shen Xiubai nodded.

This idea was also something he learned last night after once again studying the jade scroll that his great-grandfather Shen Yuan had given to Zhao Tuan.

Unfortunately, the furnace exploded when refining the second batch of elixirs earlier.

It seems there are still some details that need tweaking.

Jiang Xiuqi was also amazed by his wild imagination.

For in the cultivation realm, there indeed exist some cultivation techniques that can absorb Heaven and Earth spiritual materials essence qi. If executed following Shen Xiubai’s idea, using Heaven and Earth spiritual materials essence qi as the array base to construct an Inner Five Elements Array within the body might actually succeed.
