Almighty Sweet Queen is Really Rich!

Feng Yi, brimming with enthusiasm, was recording data with Ning Yan and casually asked, ”Uncle Ning, do you think robots will have their own consciousness?”

Ning Yan: ”I don’t know.”

”Can you guess?”

Ning Yan raised his eyebrows calmly: ”I don’t know, but I maintain an expectant scientific attitude, welcoming every scientific advancement.”

Feng Yi clicked her tongue twice, understanding that Uncle Ning felt science held limitless possibilities. He couldn’t guarantee robots would gain consciousness, but he was hopeful.

As expected of Uncle Ning, who would be hailed as the greatest scientist of their time in the future.

It’s known that the female robot they’re working on now, in the future, would be indistinguishable from a real person.

With ongoing scientific progress, robots have evolved beyond the ”iron monsters” of everyone’s perception from decades ago, and from the outside, show no discernible differences from real humans.

Feng Yi suddenly recalled a funny incident when her brother mistook Uncle Ning’s robot for a real young girl and was frustrated for a long time before discovering it was a robot.

”By the way, my parents wanted me to ask you, what do you think of the proposal from last New Year’s Eve? My mom genuinely wants to take you as her god-brother,” Feng Yi clapped her hands, finally revealing her reason for visiting the laboratory after spending an hour or two there.

Ning Yan stayed silent, his hand gripping a pen tightly.

”If you think it’s okay, we could all have a meal together as a family, Uncle.”

Ning Yan: ”...”

Feng Yi tempted him: ”What’s wrong with being my mom’s god-brother? My mom is the richest person in the world, with several gold mines backing her. Any experiments you want to conduct would be fully funded.”

Ning Yan remained silent.

Feng Yi pressed on, her lips just parting when Ning Yan suddenly asked, ”Do you want me to agree?”

Feng Yi was stunned for a moment, then nodded: ”Yes.” Since she was born, it was always like this; Uncle Ning was her mom’s god-brother and always had a place in the Feng Family, treating her well.

Ning Yan quietly pondered for a moment and then nodded gently, ”Okay.”

Did he just agree?!

Feng Yi nearly jumped for joy, feeling as if her presence was gradually facilitating the future’s development, and she was filled with a strong sense of pride.

Feng Yi tugged at Ning Yan’s sleeve: ”Then let’s tidy up and go back to eat together?”

Ning Yan wasn’t as excited as she was, just curling his lips into a faint smile and nodding.

”But before we go back, you should buy some new clothes.” Feng Yi tugged at his white lab coat with disdain.

Uncle Ning seemed to only have lab coats from the Research Institute and formal black suits for attending formal events. T-shirts, hoodies, trench coats—there was no sign of them.

Since it’s a family dinner, there’s no need to dress so formally. He’s not attending a state banquet.

Ning Yan looked down at his attire, and a hint of confusion gradually appeared on his face—was it inappropriate?

Leaving the Research Institute required applying for permission, and Ning Yan usually waited patiently for approval from higher-ups. However, Feng Yi couldn’t contain her impatience and directly approached the old man in charge, gaining permission and ensuring they were covertly protected by agents. They headed to the mall for shopping first.

Ning Yan was unfamiliar with malls, feeling uncomfortable as he observed the few groups of customers around.

He always felt as if someone was secretly watching him and Feng Yi.

”Let them look if they want to, as long as no one’s taking pictures, it’s fine,” Feng Yi reassured him, adeptly navigating the mall, ”They’re probably looking at us because we are attractive, or they recognize you.”
