Chapter 788: Chapter 788: I’m Here to See You Off

The airport was crowded, with announcements echoing overhead and the sound of bustling people all around.

Parents were chatting as they came to see off their children who were exchange students.

From time to time, students would glance over at Ling Chenyu and begin whispering amongst themselves.

The incident where Ling Chenyu snatched the exchange student spot had become the talk of the school, even students from other departments had heard about it, making it a hot topic over meals.

The Ling Family Head felt disgraced by it and only allowed his son, Ling Yanchen, and the family butler to see her off.

Ling Yanchen was giving her some advice when suddenly he heard gasps from the surrounding women.

A faint scent of cymbidium orchids filled the air, fresh and not at all vulgar.

Ling Chenyu’s face was flushed and swollen, her eyes twinkling as she exclaimed, ”Fourth Brother! Why are you at the airport? Are you also flying to M Country today?”

Feng Ciye, dressed in a tailored white trench coat, exuded energy as he stood with his hands behind his back, smiling gently at Ling Chenyu, ”No, I’m here to see you off.”

Here to see me off?

Ling Chenyu found it strange. Why was he here to see her off? Hadn’t it been said that Feng Ciye was preparing to go to M Country these few days? And for a whole six months.

Feng Ciye added, ”Here to see you off.”

Feng Ciye looked at Ling Yanchen and said, ”I would like to have a word with Miss Ling alone.”

Ling Yanchen observed Ling Chenyu’s delighted expression and noticed Feng Ciye’s choice of words, ”Miss Ling,” making his brows furrow sharply, sensing something was off.

Who addresses someone like that?

Feng Ciye and Ling Chenyu moved away and as Ling Chenyu was still processing this, she asked, ”Fourth Brother, if you’re not going to M Country now, when will you go? I’ll go first and then meet you at the airport when you arrive.”

Feng Ciye smiled slightly, ”No need.”

No need?

Ling Chenyu immediately felt a sense of foreboding.

”The collaboration with the company in M Country has been canceled. I’m not going.”

What?!

Ling Chenyu felt like a lightning bolt had struck on a sunny day, rendering her speechless. Feng Ciye wasn’t going to M Country? What would she do?

She was going there to chase after Feng Ciye; it’s not like she genuinely loved studying.

If Feng Ciye wasn’t going, they’d be in separate countries for half a year. How unbearable!

Tears welled up in Ling Chenyu’s eyes, and she almost started fidgeting on the spot in panic, ”What... what should I do now?”

Feng Ciye smiled slightly, ”Go and study well abroad.”

Ling Chenyu clutched Feng Ciye’s sleeve, her face swollen and tearful as she sobbed, ”Fourth Brother, if you’re not going, I don’t want to go either. I don’t want to go!”

Ling Chenyu ran frantically towards Ling Yanchen, grabbing the sleeves of both him and the butler, and tearfully pleaded, ”I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go to M Country as an exchange student.”

The entire exchange student group looked at each other in utter shock, staring at Ling Chenyu who was adamantly refusing to go to M Country.

Well, isn’t that strange?

She made such a fuss, fighting fiercely with her roommate He Jiaren over the slot.

Now that she finally got what she wanted, she doesn’t want to go? Is Ling Chenyu out of her mind?

The teacher leading the exchange student group had a face as dark as the bottom of a pot, sternly scolding, ”Student Ling Chenyu, you are an adult, not a child. The long-standing cooperation between the two schools isn’t something you can just decide on a whim! Do you think the school is your private property?”
