Almighty Sweet Queen is Really Rich!

Chapter 738: Chapter 738: The Hypocritical Philanthropist

Su Li originally thought that the friend who got caught should be Lu Xiaomian, or Xu Haohao.

She even thought on the plane, could it be Zhao Xiaoyan, her former best friend?

It turned out to be none of them!

It was... Yan Sida.

Dragging her suitcase, Su Li looked at Yan Sida, whose whole body was tense, complexion pale but extremely stubborn, with a slightly complex expression.

If she had known that the person caught was Yan Sida, she really might not have rushed back in such a hurry.

The other person said strangely, ”Didn’t I tell you, it was Yan Sida?”

Su Li was speechless. At that time, the phone was noisy, and she didn’t hear it clearly!

As soon as Yan Sida saw Su Li coming with her suitcase, clearly just off the plane, she felt quite touched.

She came from a remote village and didn’t have many friends in Jiang City, the only fellow villager being that senior, Xue Niannian.

Xue Niannian was busy proofreading manuscripts for Yan Le.

After much consideration, Yan Sida wrote down Su Li’s name and number, feeling anxious about whether Su Li would show up; who knew that within a few hours, she had already arrived.

Yan Sida cried and hugged Su Li, choking with emotion, ”Su Li, I knew you considered me a friend. Thank you, thank you for coming to pick me up!”

Su Li: ”...”

Su Li found it hard to describe.

Su Li let out a long sigh, trying to make her voice sound gentle, and said, ”I’ll help you with the procedures to get you out first. But how did you end up in there?”

Before Yan Sida could explain, a young person beside them laughed, ”Her? She went to the filming crew to cause trouble, and the director, unable to stand it anymore, reported her to the police!”

Upon hearing this, Yan Sida, like a mouse whose tail was stepped on, instantly exploded, sharply retorting, ”Nonsense! It was clearly me exposing the truth; I didn’t want the director and them to be deceived. How did it turn into me causing trouble? That director is just like Lu Dongbin, biting the hand that feeds him, not recognizing a good heart! One day, they will regret it.”

The young person, chewing on a blade of dry grass, smiled disdainfully, ”Tch! Isn’t it just bullying because it wasn’t a proper TV drama crew? Some web drama...”

Su Li was startled in her heart, web drama? Could it be the web drama her company was preparing? The entire entertainment industry now had only Starry Sky Studio working on web dramas!

Just as Su Li wanted to ask, she was notified to go through the procedures.

Half an hour later, Su Li and Yan Sida left the police station.

Yan Sida actively helped Su Li with the suitcase, and said, ”Su Li, thank you. The dormitory at school is already open, let’s go back to the dormitory.”

Su Li raised an eyebrow and asked in surprise, ”You really didn’t go home for the New Year during the winter break?”

Yan Sida subconsciously clenched her hands, saying, ”Yeah, I didn’t go home for the New Year. I wanted to gain more work experience to make it easier to find a job in the future. Besides, our village is quite remote, and I also didn’t want to waste money on travel.”

Hearing this, Su Li couldn’t help but frown. She had no home to return to, while Yan Sida had a home but didn’t want to go back.

Yan Sida smiled and said, ”But our village is going to build a road out of the mountains; once it’s done and I have money, I can go home in style.”

Su Li couldn’t help but catch some information, and asked, ”Is your home in that Mushui Village? The one a few months ago that asked me to help forward the tweet looking for private investors?”

Yan Sida nodded, her tone carrying a trace of sarcasm in the next moment: ”I heard that indeed some private investor donated for charity, tsk tsk, just another fake philanthropist looking for fame! Rich people are all like that, clearly with extreme power and influence, yet they insist on pretending to love charity and helping others!”
