The Return Of The God Level Assassin

”ANOTHER memory of the black dragon was him being shunned in the dragon clan,” Lhoris started. ”It was because of the color of his scales. For the dragons, black symbolizes death, dark magic, just about anything that is negative. It didnʼt matter that the black dragonʼs Mana was stronger and more powerful in comparison to other dragons. They still isolated him.”

Eclipse immediately became indignant hearing that. [Whatʼs wrong with having black scales? Eclipse has black fur but heʼs still strong and mighty! Eclipse is also very adorable.] – The little fox raised his head at his master. [Right, Mashter?]

Luo Yan generously rubbed the little foxʼs head. [Yes, Eclipse is adorable, strong, and mighty.]

Completely satisfied, Eclipse looked back at Lhoris. [Those dragons have no visions at all. Theyʼre definitely much inferior compared to the demon fox tribe. Now, Eclipse feels a bit sorry for uncle black lizard.]

Luo Yan chuckled. This little guy was definitely pertaining to his mother – a void kitsune – being the leader of the demon fox tribe. And it seemed that he had already accepted Dusk as his godfather. Seeing as how he referred to him as ʼuncleʼ.

He thought of what Lhoris had said and then remembered the way Dusk addressed himself when he woke up. If the black dragon was isolated as what was mention, then why did Dusk call himself ʼthis kingʼ? Wasnʼt that too contradictory?

Then he thought of the scene where Kagetsuki entered the lair of the black dragon. She said that Dusk was still living like a recluse. Which meant that he had isolated himself for quite some time. No, a very long time. Considering that Kagetsuki hadnʼt met him for a hundred years before that.

”Did the black dragon leave the dragon clan?” he asked Lhoris.

”According to the memories my eyes recorded, yes. He left very early. He hadnʼt even reached his adulthood,” the moon elf answered. ”I didnʼt see any other early memories of him. Another set of memories was when he returned to the dragon clan. He challenged the then King of the dragons. It was an overwhelming victory. Many of the dragon couldnʼt accept the defeat of their King. Some even tried to challenge the black dragon. But all of them ended up defeated under the black dragonʼs hands.”

Now, that completely explained the questions he had earlier – Luo Yan thought. So, the reason why Dusk was referring to himself as ʼthis kingʼ was because he was indeed a king. The king of the dragons no less. The habit of calling himself that way must have been already ingrained in him. Thatʼs why even though he lost his memories, he still continued calling himself in that way.

[Mashter, it seems that uncle black lizard was a little bit amazing.] – Eclipse said after hearing about the black dragon being the king of dragons. [But oh well, itʼs just right that heʼs the dragon king. After all, Eclipseʼs mo- mother was almost like a queen. If heʼs going to be Eclipseʼs godfather, he at least had to be a king.]

Luo Yan almost laughed at Eclipseʼs commentary.

”After ascending to the throne, the first thing that the black dragon did was to declare war against the Dark Mages of Acheus. Another memory was that of the war between the two faction. The black dragon was fighting against a dark mage. From what I saw, that dark mage was the leader. The black dragon was on the verge of winning. But before he could give the final attack, a blade pierced him from behind.

”That was the end of that memory. My eyes didnʼt manage to record who it was, but I remembered the dragonʼs feeling of betrayal. So, it must have been a fellow dragon.”

[What? Who was it? How dare they betray uncle black lizard?!] – Eclipse angrily shouted after hearing that.

Of course, Lhoris didnʼt hear what the little fox had said. So, he continued, ”The last memory was of the black dragon entering the cave in the Silent Marsh. He was thoroughly beaten. With wounds so life-threatening, he would definitely end up dying if he wasnʼt immediately treated. Before he lost consciousness, all his gold coins and treasures, as well as the beast egg left to him by Kagetsuki suddenly appeared around him, filling up the cave. It was as if it was poured out of some invisible hole in the air or something.”

Luo Yan was a bit confused about the last part. But Shen Ji Yun quickly saved him from his confusion.

”The dragon race was designed to have their own dimensional pockets. If they ended up unconscious, all the items that they put in their dimensional pocket would automatically be poured out from it. Whether they like it or not,” Shen Ji Yun explained. ”The same goes for those players who belonged to the dragon race. If they died in the game, then all the items they had put in their dimensional pocket would be released. Then, other players would be free to take them.”

Luo Yan nodded, completely understanding the concept. No wonder Dusk had all those coins and treasures around him.

Wait- how did Shen Ji Yun know he was confused about that? He glanced sideways at the other. Could this guy be staring at him instead of listening to Lhoris? Knowing him, thereʼs a high chance that that was definitely the case.

”You already know about the memory involving Kagetsuki. Including that, those were all the memories that my eyes recorded,” Lhoris finished.

Luo Yan fell into a deep thought. He began analyzing everything. And a vague outline of the events in Duskʼs life started to appear in his mind.

”Then… would I now be safe from the black dragonʼs wrath?” the moon elf tentatively asked.

Seeing that Luo Yan was thinking, Shen Ji Yun answered the moon elfʼs question. ”Yes. He wouldnʼt suddenly appear here and attack you if thatʼs what youʼre worrying about.”

”Why do you think he would attack you anyway? Itʼs not as if he saw you or anything?” Luo Yan thought of asking. He had already arranged everything clearly in his mind.

”Well, heʼs dragon. If he knew that I had some of his memories, heʼd definitely hunt me down. And if youʼve seen how ruthless he was, youʼd also want to make sure to be away from him as far as you could.”

”How did you find out that he was awake?” That was one thing that had been bothering Luo Yan.

”I kind of put an item in the pond where the Eternal Lotus was. It would activate the moment the Eternal Lotus was destroyed. Thatʼs how I knew that the black dragon was already awake.”

Luo Yan didnʼt expect that answer. Then, thereʼs only one remaining question in his mind.

”Do you know the name of the black dragon?”

Even though he named his Dusk, he most probably already had a name. It would be good if they could call him in his proper name.

”He doesnʼt have a name. No one bothered to give him one. Not even his parents. If he ever had one.”

Luo Yan was a bit surprised when he heard that.

[Mashter, uncle black lizard is so pitiful. He didnʼt even have a name! Good thing Mashter gave him one. Now, his name was just a tad bit worse than Eclipseʼs.]

He smiled at what Eclipseʼs said. Thatʼs right. ʼDuskʼ was indeed a good name.
