Chapter 644: Chapter 644: Bullying Others Using One’s Power_1

Tu Yan twisted his head to look and couldn’t help but his face darkened.

He hurriedly safeguarded his daughter, Tu Jiao Jiao, behind him.

The newcomer was a Steward, a practitioner of the Transcendent Realm Fourth Layer, one who could dispatch Tu Yan with just a flick of his finger.

This man had long coveted Tu Jiao Jiao, but had been holding back due to Broken Snow Demon General also having his sights on her.

Now that the Broken Snow Demon General had been killed, the monkeys scattered upon the falling of the tree; those under his command had mostly found new masters for themselves.

At the first news of this, the Steward rushed to find Tu Yan.

”Steward, my daughter is still young and not in a rush to be married, I beg you to show mercy!”

Sweat had already started to bead on Tu Yan’s forehead.

Because he knew all too well that in Demon Castle City, no one would stand up for a slave, and even if the Steward killed him today and then took away his daughter, there was nothing he could do about it.

”Daddy, don’t worry, if he dares to make a move, I’ll just kill myself, I absolutely won’t marry such a man anyway.”

Tu Jiao Jiao would never forget that one of her sisters had been defiled by this Steward and then died miserably.

Every time this man felt slighted elsewhere, he would come home and take his anger out on the women there; the number of women who had died at his hands was not in the hundreds, then it was several dozen.

”Kill yourself?”

The Steward scoffed coldly, ”You think you can kill yourself? The weak don’t even have the right to choose the method of their death. If I don’t allow you to die, you won’t be able to die. If I say you must die, then you have to die!

Now, give you one last chance, let your daughter obediently come with me, so we can all be peaceable and there’s no need to get angry.”

Standing there, the Steward smiled at Tu Yan and Tu Jiao Jiao as if everything was under his control, as if no one could snatch this piece of fat from his mouth.

”My dear daughter, your father has failed you!”

Tu Yan simply couldn’t bear to see his daughter violated by the beast in front of him, he decided to fight back, figuring it was better to die here with his daughter, ending their lives in a moment of clarity, rather than after she suffered countless abuses before her death.

”Dad, you don’t owe me anything, in the next life, we will still be father and daughter!”

Tu Jiao Jiao had also made up her mind. Despite her young age, her resolve was not weak.

”Tsk tsk, such righteous indignation, such deep father-daughter love, what a pity. Now, go die, Tu Yan!”

The Steward sneered disdainfully, then leaped into the air, launching a palm strike at Tu Yan, his overwhelming momentum slamming down, leaving Tu Jiao Jiao with no chance to even kill herself.

Boom!

Something surprising happened.

The Steward, like a cockroach that had just taken flight, was instantly slapped down.

In mid-air, a silhouette hovered, his face stern.

”Audacious, who dares!”

Barely managing to get up from the ground, the Steward wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and rebuked the figure in the sky.

However, his face revealed an expression of extreme terror.

That was normal, as Ling Xiao’s strike had seriously injured him.

He believed that if it weren’t for the hasty attack, he might already be dead.

Ling Xiao glanced indifferently at the Steward, a flicker of killing intent in his gaze, and uttered softly, ”Leave!”

”You insolent fool, do you realize that my immediate superior is Elder Tang, and even though Broken Snow Demon General is dead, his elder now serves under another Demon General. If you dare to provoke me, you are provoking Elder Tang, you are provoking the Demon General!”

The Steward really wanted to turn tail and flee, but he could not bear to just walk away like that.

He knew he was no match for Ling Xiao, but he tried to intimidate the other party by invoking the name of a Demon General, hoping the opponent would retreat in the face of difficulty.

That way, he could preserve both his dignity and his life.

”You talk too much, you’ve already missed your best chance to stay alive!”

Ling Xiao always loathed those who abused women, and moreover, Tu Yan and Tu Jiao Jiao had shown him kindness.

Tu Yan had been his idol since childhood, a great hero.

He was already very annoyed, and then this wretch even dared to threaten him.

With a casual flick of his finger.

A sword qi shot out, instantly piercing through the steward’s head.

”Ah! I recognize him now, he’s the new Demon General who killed the Broken Snow Demon General!”

”No wonder he’s so fierce, he even dares to kill a steward!”

In the crowd, some had already recognized Ling Xiao.

In the presence of a Demon General, a steward is nothing.

What’s more, Ling Xiao had just slain the Broken Snow Demon General; his fearsome reputation was now widespread. If that steward had recognized Ling Xiao, he probably wouldn’t have made such a foolish mistake.

”The Tu father and daughter are really lucky. The old and decrepit Broken Snow Demon General is dead, and now they’ve connected with a young Demon General. It seems no one will dare to touch them now.”

”That’s for sure, this new Demon General is like a deadly plague. Whomever provokes him meets death.”

”No wonder he looks down on stewards. In the eyes of a Demon General, what’s a lowly steward?

”You two must have been frightened. If there’s any trouble in the future, just mention my name! Farewell!”

Ling Xiao cupped his hands in a salute, then soared into the sky and left.

Only after Ling Xiao’s figure had disappeared into the distance did Tu Jiao Jiao stick out her tongue and say, ”So what he said was all true, he really is a powerful master!”

”Jiao Jiao, let’s go. Pack up, we’re setting out to sea immediately!”

Tu Yan had been shocked for a long while, but after a moment, he thought of something.

With Ling Xiao staying in Demon Castle City, nobody dared to bully them, but what if Ling Xiao had to leave on a mission? Then they would be in deep trouble.

The best plan was to go out to sea and hide for a while, until Ling Xiao’s submersible returned, and then they could come back.

Tu Yan might not have had a high cultivation level, but he knew many people. He had heard that the new Demon General was going to be stationed on the submersible and leave tomorrow.

He even knew that Ling Xiao was the new Demon General.

However, he hadn’t expected that this young man, with whom he had only a passing acquaintance and not much interaction, would actually step in to save them.

...

The next morning, the Tu family left on a boat.

At the same time, Ling Xiao arrived at the dock.

Also joining him on the submersible were two other Demon Generals, the Thousand-Handed Demon General and the Fire Wolf Demon General.

The Thousand-Handed Demon General was a woman around sixty or seventy years old, but she looked in her thirties and was still quite charming.

The Fire Wolf Demon General was the husband of the Thousand-Handed Demon General, similar in age and likewise appearing around thirty, with a very strong physique.

”Good day to the two of you!”

Ling Xiao greeted them with a smile, so he was quite amiable in his demeanor.

”Greetings, Vicious Beast Demon General!”

Vicious Beast Demon General was Ling Xiao’s title, which had been given by the Second Fortress Master.

”Let’s just stick with Ling Xiao. This isn’t your first time overseeing the submersible, is it?”

Ling Xiao asked.

The Thousand-Handed Demon General nodded and said, ”Indeed, overseeing the submersible is generally not dangerous. However, as you know, the depths of the sea are fraught with peril. Anything could happen. There have been several instances where the submersible returned without a single person on board, which led to more than ten Demon Generals going missing.”
