Tyrant Sky Martial Soul

Chapter 187: Chapter 187 Potential Test_1

Inside the True Spirit Hall, the atmosphere was somewhat oppressive.

Twenty-two young geniuses were suddenly stripped of their excitement by a single statement from Master Baiyun.

Among these twenty-two individuals, could really only one person qualify to become the true disciple of Master Baiyun?

This was too astonishing.

Ling Xiao was also quite surprised. Although he had conflicts with many from the Heavenly Ninja Academy, he was amazed by the talents of certain individuals.

How could only one person be qualified?

Yet Master Baiyun couldn’t possibly be mistaken.

He didn’t really care, after all, the power of the Mountain and River Martial Soul allowed him to pay little attention to the existence of a master.

From Tianfeng City until now, he had been cultivating and comprehending all on his own.

The problems he encountered during martial arts cultivation were also resolved with the help of the Mountain and River Martial Soul.

Because of this, many of the problems that would arise for self-taught geniuses didn’t appear in him at all.

The martial arts he demonstrated were almost textbook-perfect.

The reason he came today was actually more out of interest in the resources Master Baiyun had to offer, after all, for the time being, the Mountain and River Martial Soul still couldn’t provide him with martial arts secret books or cultivation resources.

As for the others, they didn’t have as good a mindset as he did. These people almost pinned all their hopes of advancing to the Transcendent Realm on Master Baiyun. If they couldn’t pass the selection, their efforts would really be wasted.

”Master, I’m only sixteen years old, and my cultivation level has reached the Seventh Layer Peak of Martial Veins! It’s only a matter of time before I break through to the Eighth Layer. I’m confident enough in this respect, so why don’t I qualify?”

Finally, someone couldn’t help but ask.

The one who spoke was Fei Yu, the strongest among these twenty in terms of cultivation level, closer to reaching the Eighth Layer of the Martial Vein than Dai Yuling, who was also at the Seventh Layer Peak.

Master Baiyun didn’t get angry, but simply smiled and said, ”You should all be aware, the final stage of Martial Pulse Ninth Level is to open up the Nine Martial Meridians. Do you know what that means? It means that even if your cultivation level has reached the Ninth Layer Pinnacle of Martial Veins, you are actually just laying the foundation.”

”Laying the foundation! The Ninth Layer Pinnacle of Martial Veins is just laying the foundation?”

This statement was indeed shocking. Probably no one present, except Master Baiyun himself, would dare to say such a thing.

”That’s right, it’s just the foundational stage. Only when you open the Nine Martial Meridians can you shed your mundanity and truly enter into the realm of cultivation. So you say you are at the Seventh Layer Peak of Martial Veins, that just proves your aptitude is decent, providing some reference for taking in disciples, but not much.”

Master Baiyun continued, ”The reason I said I don’t require high levels of cultivation, and anyone above the Four-level of Martial Veins and under the age of sixteen can participate in the selection, is precisely because of this.”

”What about those before the Four-level of Martial Veins?”

Another voice asked.

”If you haven’t reached the Four-level of Martial Veins by the age of sixteen, then you’re simply a waste!”

Master Baiyun coldly stated.

Although harsh, that was the reality.

However, Ling Xiao was more concerned with what Master Baiyun had mentioned about the foundational stage.

There are Basic Martial Arts, and he was very clear about this foundation - namely, the stage of tempering the body before one is fully versed in martial arts.

The Basic Martial Arts he cultivated, Barbaric Bull Strength, worked this way: only when the physical condition reached a certain level could one begin to cultivate lower-level martial arts.

Presumably, the foundational stage of the realm was meant in the same way.

According to this, even martial artists at the Ninth Layer Pinnacle of Martial Veins haven’t truly entered the real stage of cultivation. It’s merely a process of tempering the body and developing bodily potential.

Only beyond the Transcendent Realm can one be considered to truly be cultivating.

That was simply too astonishing!

He suddenly remembered something Lin Ze had once told him. In the process of opening the Martial Veins, there were three paths leading to the Transcendent Realm.

Soul!

Inner strength!

Body!

In simpler terms, it’s about essence, energy, and spirit.

If any one of these is cultivated to the extreme, one can ascend to the Transcendent Realm.

Of course, if all three are complete, the effect is even better.

At that time, he didn’t quite understand the meaning of these words.

Now he finally understood that whether it was the soul, inner strength, or body, all were about laying the foundation. Only with a solid foundation could one begin to cultivate.

Some people purely pursued the power of combat skills, the rapid increase of their cultivation level, but they forgot this point.

As a result, in the end, it was all in vain.

Even if you advanced to the Ninth Layer Pinnacle of Martial Veins, if essence, energy, and spirit were not strong enough, it would be impossible to ascend to the Transcendent Realm in a lifetime.

The so-called battle technique and cultivation level are merely aids for survival.

They are means to make essence, energy, and spirit stronger.

Yet many martial artists have gotten this somewhat backward.

”Master, you always say that strength and cultivation level are not important, so what is truly important?”

Because Fei Yu had asked the question just now and Master Baiyun had replied amiably, there were more people asking questions now. Everyone was not as fearful as before.

”Potential!”

”Potential?”

”To be precise, it’s the potential to reach the Transcendent Realm!”

Master Baiyun explained, ”This potential has three aspects: the potential of the body, the potential of the soul, and the potential of inner strength.”

”By possessing potential, you have a future!”

Master Baiyun continued, ”Beyond the Transcendent Realm, martial artists are actually divided into some special physiques, which many predecessors have concluded. They believe that only those with these special physiques may ascend to the Transcendent Realm.”

”Just now, when I was observing you all, I was looking to see if anyone among you possessed such a special physique. Fortunately, there is one who fully meets the criteria.”

”Of course, apart from these special physiques, there are exceptions. After all, it is impossible for anyone to fully understand all special physiques, and so we have the Seven-Star Flower!”

Master Baiyun smiled, then pointed at the plant behind him that looked like a transparent crystal.

”The Seven-Star Flower is very peculiar; it can judge whether a martial artist has the potential to ascend to the Transcendent Realm. It has seven blooms in total. As long as five light up, it proves that the martial artist definitely can ascend to the Transcendent Realm, provided that the cultivation process goes smoothly.”

”My goodness, there’s actually such a thing in this world.”

Ling Xiao now truly felt that he was a bit ignorant. The world outside was indeed wonderful; he really wanted to know how great his own potential was.

Whether he possessed a special physique.

”Yiran, you arrange for the children to come and test. You know the testing method, there’s no need for me to repeat it, right?”

Master Baiyun said to Real Person Yiran.

”I strictly adhere to the master’s decree!”

White Cloud Sect Leader Yiran nodded, then arranged for the twenty-two people to form a line, one by one going to take the test.

It was unclear whether intentionally or unintentionally, but the talents from the Heavenly Ninja Academy were lined up at the front, and the six from Hidden Dragon Camp were at the back.

However, it didn’t really matter. After all, being tested first didn’t necessarily mean anything better. How great your potential is, that doesn’t change.

”The testing method is very simple, just a drop of blood on it.”

Real Person Yiran said to Fei Yu, who was first in line.

”Junior understands!”

Fei Yu was quite confident, yet also very nervous.
