STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

City A-5th Zone

Jeremy Night accepted the reward and stored it inside the ring. He was curious about the items, but he decided to go back home first.

”When are you leaving?” Head Harold asked.

”Tomorrow morning,” Jeremy replied.

”Are you not going to the 10th Zone to see Head Neil and the others?” he asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy took on a thoughtful expression and said, ”I have work to do in the special base. But I will visit them next time.”

”Head Neil Moon asked about your progress. He couldn’t come here because the situation in the 10th Zone is not good,” Harold said.

”What happened?” Jeremy asked.

Melinda raised her eyebrows. She knew they had a branch in the 10th Zone as well.

Harold said, ”There is no emergency, but higher-tier beasts have been appearing often in the wilderness there. Some of them are from the lands outside the wilderness border.”

Jeremy didn’t know what to say. The 10th Zone was the place where the Colossal Beast had made an appearance. During that time, the Colossal Beast had even attacked the city.

He wouldn’t forget the scene. No wonder Head Neil Moon hadn’t come here. Otherwise, he would have been here to help Head Harold.

”It’s not only in the 10th Zone. The 9th, 8th, 7th, and 6th Zones are experiencing similar problems. It’s just that the nature and terrain of the wilderness in each zone are different,” Harold said.

”In some zones, the attacks occur quickly, while in other zones, it might take months,” he added.

”Head, if the Red Moon Chamber in the 10th Zone needs my help, then I will definitely come. The special base elders won’t hinder me when it comes to the battle against the Corrupted Beasts,” Jeremy replied.

”I will contribute as well,” Melinda said from the side.

”I know. But you guys need to focus on improving your strength first. Only then can you enter important battles,” Harold said.

Jeremy fell silent. The discussion then continued for another hour before ending. He had asked everything about the special base.

Melinda, too, learned some things from the discussion. After leaving the office, they came to the waiting area on the ground floor.

Jeremy realized that it was time to part ways. He didn’t know what to say, but he collected his thoughts and said, ”Senior Sister, I’m going back tomorrow. If you need help with anything, you can contact me.”

”If possible, check on my parents from time to time,” he added.

Melinda smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, I’m already visiting them often. I will spend more time with them.”

Hearing her assurance, Jeremy sighed in relief. He then looked around the place. He saw fewer members around, but they were minding their own business.

Then, he bid goodbye to her before leaving.

Melinda watched him leave. She didn’t know what Jeremy Night’s strength would be when he returned, but she was looking forward to finding out. She then returned to her room.

Jeremy came out onto the street and hailed a cab back home. He wanted to spend time with his parents.

Soon, he returned home. The cab departed, and he went inside the house. His father and mother were already waiting with dinner ready.

He put aside all unnecessary thoughts and began to enjoy the moment.

Meanwhile,

The Darkshade Organisation learned about the situation in the 5th Zone. Knowing that the Tier-9 Beasts had been repelled from the area, they didn’t show much reaction.

To them, the experimental result was what mattered most. They had managed to draw out not one, but two Tier-9 Corrupted Beasts.

It didn’t matter to them whether the city was under threat or not. For them, the test was a success.

The improved Beast Powder could lure Tier-9 Beasts out from the unknown lands.

Unfortunately, they could no longer use the 5th Zone as their experimental base. They knew their activities had been exposed to the council.

Someone had found out about their operations and leaked the information to the higher-ups in the Human Alliance.

There were already strict restrictions against them. If they used the same base again, a total ban could be placed on their organisation.

So, they ordered their members to vacate the hideouts in the 5th Zone and avoid entering the city, as the City Governors could conduct a citywide search.

Similar actions had taken place in the past, where small gangs and shady organisations had been wiped out along with their members.

City Guest House

The bald-headed elder and the red-haired elder were here.

They had found no activity in the wilderness since the beasts were repelled, as if the wilderness had become completely quiet.

”Do you think the improved beast powder lost its power?” the bald-headed elder asked.

”It appears so. But the people who created it are still alive,” the red-haired elder replied.

”We should convene an important meeting to discuss this. I will send a message to the others. This time, we will put more restrictions on them,” the bald-headed elder said.

”I’m sure the forces in the top three zones will support it,” he added.

Hearing that, the Red-Haired Elder’s eyes flickered.

He said, ”Yes, they won’t sit back and watch. There is already a fight against higher-tier beasts on a daily basis. If the improved Beast Powder were placed in the top three zones, it could lead to a catastrophe.”

Both elders looked at each other and nodded. They were convinced that the people in the top three zones would take action.

The following day,

Jeremy Night woke up early. After getting out of bed, he went through his morning routine, which lasted for an hour.

Then, he began to get ready. By then, both of his parents had woken up one after the other. They knew Jeremy was going to leave for the special base.

So, Nora got up and cooked breakfast for him while Ron Night got ready.

20 minutes later,

Jeremy came out of the bathroom and changed into fresh clothes. After getting ready, he joined his parents. Seeing that breakfast was served, he sat down and began to eat with them.

”Is it possible for you to come home once a week?” Nora asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy looked at her and nodded. Ron Night relaxed as well; he had wanted to ask his son, but his wife had gotten the answer first.
