STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

City A, 5th Zone

Governors Orion, Leon, and Martin are standing above the clouds. They are looking in the direction of the Flying Eagle Beast which escaped earlier.

”It’s another probe,” Leon uttered.

”Are we going to face attacks from bird-type beasts?” Martin asked doubtfully.

Hearing that, the expressions of Orion and Leon changed drastically. It was a real possibility.

Governor Orion said, ”We should be ready for anything. Bird-type beasts are more dangerous than land-type beasts.”

The three of them made the decision to raise the city’s defenses. Then, they prepared to discuss the matter with the Human Alliance.

Because the city is close to the unexplored region, unknown dangers could be awaiting them. Some teams from the city were already exploring that region, and the Governors were worried about their safety.

Days passed.

The Governors completed the safety arrangements, but there were no attacks from the corrupted beasts, let alone the bird-type beasts.

Only then did the Governors realize it was a false alarm. The bird beasts were not planning to attack the city.

Then they gave the orders to Guards to be at ease. It was a false alarm. They can continue with their work. The city is safe right now.

They were not going to face any attacks from the corrupted beasts. The city is safe right now.

The City officials, the guards and other various staff sighed in relief. They can do their normal work now.

The Beast Taming Forces received the goods news as well. They can be at ease now.

Red Moon Chamber

Days passed,

Jeremy Night is following his daily schedule. After that dangerous incident, he hasn’t entered the wilderness.

He aimed to achieve the next peak stage before accepting another mission. In the meantime, he is focusing on his combat skills. He has been practicing the ”Blade One Move.”

If he had intermediate-level skill, he would have gravely injured the beast. An intermediate blade move attacked with starlight power can bring about much more destruction.

He had such a move in his possession, yet he hadn’t put much time into it. This time, he had set clear goals.

He would achieve intermediate mastery over the Blade One Move soon. If possible, he would also try to get better at ”Rapid Cuts” and ”Explosive Steps.”

In the following days, he continued to follow his daily routine. Whenever he had time, he accessed the digital library to read free content regarding blade techniques and footwork methods.

His activities didn’t go unnoticed.

Team Leader Melinda had wanted to have a chat with Jeremy Night earlier, and she finally did.

She learned that Jeremy was focused on improving his combat skills. She knew that Jeremy’s awakened talent was combat-related, so he needed solo missions to grow.

If he performed missions with the team, he would rarely face a life-or-death crisis because she would definitely save him.

Knowing that Jeremy’s future growth lay in solo missions, she didn’t interfere, but she did speak with Head Harold.

Head Harold was also following Jeremy’s activities. He knew Jeremy’s past and that he had faced more than one beast invasion.

Jeremy had survived all of them. The accumulation of such experiences resulted in fast progression.

Harold understood this fact well. When he discussed it with his friend, Head Neil Moon, Neil suggested the same.

Some people are not made for teamwork, especially those with battle-related talents. It is often best for them to work alone.

In the end, they decided to leave Jeremy Night alone. There was no need for him to perform compulsory missions.

Wilderness

The Darkshade members were carrying out their regular activities, transporting goods again. This time, they didn’t come across the corrupted beasts living in the unexplored region.

The work was going well, but they failed to find anything related to the killer. One of their men had been shot down inside the hideout.

They didn’t know if it was an internal fight or a murder. Since they knew nothing, the higher-ups simply increased the manpower at the post.

Even if they faced attacks from corrupted beasts, their numbers would deter them.

At the same time, the higher-ups decided to find another hideout. They were afraid the current one had been exposed.

If another incident were to happen, the losses would be huge. They had already lost more than one team to the corrupted beasts.

In the following days, the Darkshade teams got busy as well. They ordered other illegal organizations not to cause any problems inside the city.

Because of this, the locals experienced quiet days. There were no more restricted streets, and locals could use all the neighborhood roads without any problems.

With no more gangs blocking the streets, the locals thought it was the work of the city governors. Even the Governors themselves were surprised by the reports; they wondered when the gangs had started following the law.

Normally, gangs would resume their activities after a short time, but several weeks had passed without incident.

The Governors didn’t know it was actually the work of the Darkshade organization, which was too busy with major operations to want any extra attention.

Even though the Governors had taken down the majority of the criminal hideouts, there were still survivors.

A few had fled to other zones. They held considerable power, and the Governors feared that if they returned, criminal activities would resume. Yet, for now, the city remained quiet. No one knew how long it would last.

Unexplored Region

Teams from City A were exploring the area. They had mapped every location marked by the city. The teams consisted of Tier-7 and Tier-8 Beast Tamers—the best in their ranks.

They had encountered corrupted beasts but killed every one of them along the way. Yet, they were indecisive about the mission.

Some members were half-hearted; they wanted to go back and rest, feeling they had already marked enough areas for the Human Alliance.

However, others wanted to explore further. They were eager for more rewards, but that required finding new locations.

They weren’t satisfied with the current map and wanted to add more areas. Because of this, the team was currently divided.
