Legend of Hogwarts (Harry Potter x League of Legends)

It was a rather interesting discovery—but sadly, Allen realized it was completely useless.

The fact that the anti-magic shield could bypass non-offensive or weak protective spells sounded amazing, but in practical terms, it was nearly worthless.

Magic is usually directed at either people or objects. Against people, unless the target is blind, Allen would have to sneak-attack them. But was that even necessary? There were very few wizards he couldn’t handle, and most of them had a few life-saving tools (wealthy and influential types). Sneak attacks would rarely work. And if the opponent was weaker than him, why would he bother sneaking around?

As for objects—it sounded great for adventuring, especially using Soraka’s anti-magic effect on magical items. That would have been exhilarating, easily disabling offensive magical artifacts. But still... not very useful.

It might seem like a method to destroy Horcruxes, but Allen didn’t need that to deal with them. And as for other adventures? Sure, it could help—but the problem was, who told him where the treasures were?!

Yet, even this practically useless discovery stunned the group around him. When Allen looked up, he realized something was off: everyone’s mouths were agape, staring at him.

Allen’s mind clicked, and he immediately understood the reason. If they dared to use this as a test, they must have had immense confidence in it.

As the key artifact for club selection, the difficulty of solving it was certainly not low. Otherwise, they might as well rename it a welfare club—easy for anyone to join—but that would ruin their prestige.

Here’s the issue: Allen was a highly invited guest. Solving it was expected, but the speed at which he did it wasn’t ”solving”—it was smashing their system.

Theoretically, the others could turn hostile, letting Allen indulge in a little revenge and earn his first victory. But that would make enemies—and Allen didn’t want that.

So he came up with a very believable excuse:

”Um... sorry, this artifact really isn’t much of a test. Honestly, I’ve encountered similar magical items before that could be solved so quickly, but it took me almost half an hour to crack them back then. That’s why I remembered the magic so well and solved this one so fast.”

Of course, the ”twenty minutes” was completely fabricated—Allen hadn’t even seen such protective magic before.

For reference, Dumbledore solved Voldemort’s traps in less than ten minutes. The potions were deadly, so if not for that, Dumbledore would have easily retrieved the fake Horcrux.

After all, Dumbledore even set his own death as a trap. Those potions were just a ruse to convince Harry he had died. Who would have thought Malfoy could succeed? Voldemort only outsmarted Dumbledore once with the Resurrection Stone—something Dumbledore himself didn’t notice.

Without protections, a curse isn’t trivial—especially from Voldemort. That’s even more dangerous than casting a Killing Curse on the spot, since a curse can be carefully prepared.

Aside from that, Horcruxes are hard to destroy not because of protection, but because they’re hard to find. One clue from Dumbledore could lead to a lifetime’s discovery for someone else.

This is why Allen considered his previous discovery ”useless”—he used Dumbledore’s speed as a reference and generously doubled the time to twenty minutes. For a small-time club artifact, that was impressive!

Of course, the club members weren’t satisfied.

But it was still better than having Allen instantly bypass it without explanation.

The lead professor, now able to solve such artifacts in five minutes after years of study (first-time attempts set the record), smiled awkwardly with the others. What could they do? Allen had given them a graceful exit—they couldn’t claim their own artifact was ”weak.”

Inside, they were frustrated, but no one complained. Solving this relied on skill, and the club’s ultimate goal was uncovering hidden magical secrets. In Japanese wizard society, strong wizards were respected, so these humbled members felt completely conquered—there was nothing to say.

In short, Allen gained... almost nothing.

Though he had hoped to profit from this exchange, at least a little, the entire afternoon passed, and he left empty-handed. This wasn’t due to their unwillingness to cooperate; without sufficient contribution, no one could access the deeper materials. He could only speculate with shallow knowledge until he earned progress to see more.

As a man who had conquered a group of wizards through action, Allen was granted nearly full access. All non-confidential information was available, and he even noted secret passages.

Yet, his strength had not increased one bit—especially when faced with the overwhelming amount of material.

Take the same magical array used in the artifact test: just one item produced an entire book of data!

Protective or hidden setups, discussions of magical artifacts, theories about Muggle-world magical items—it all piled up. With centuries of accumulated knowledge, the data became a treasure trove, like a wizarding family’s inherited archive.

And yet—useless.

Because the system contained no hero who could use it, the closest was Ezreal, but he didn’t become a hero through superior exploration...

Allen’s learning speed remained astonishing, but compared to this ocean of knowledge, it was trivial. Still, the club members were amazed.
