The Game of a Legendary Genius Dark Mage

[You have defeated an opponent far beyond your current level.]

[You gain experience that exceeds the limit.]

[Level Up!] ×11

[You have reached Level 264.]

[Upon reaching Level 260, 『Helena’s Crazy Strong Swordsmanship』 has leveled up.]

[Almighty-ranked skill 『Helena’s Crazy Strong Swordsmanship』 has reached Level 3 and unlocks a new skill.]

[『Helena’s Crazy Strong Swordsmanship: Destruction』 has been unlocked.]

[Upon reaching Level 260, you have obtained a clue regarding the location of a new Lord skill.]

[The Lord of the Abyss, Murakan, is sealed within the Deep Core of Belhadan, one of the nine regions.]

[A new secret technique has been created within the Almighty-ranked skill 『Helena’s Crazy Strong Swordsmanship』, separate from its original secret techniques.]

[You have acquired a new secret technique of 『Helena’s Crazy Strong Swordsmanship』.]

[With the Lord skill 『Masked Lord』, the Lord-grade sword technique 『Mirrorblade Arts』 has been converted into a mask.]

A long string of messages he hadn’t seen in a while.

But far from annoyed, Seong smiled with satisfaction.

‘Not bad at all.’

Now, instead of unlocking a single skill with each level up, receiving clues for Lord-type skills was definitely a welcome change.

Honestly, without something like this, he had no idea where to even begin searching for new Lord skills.

Now he had a way to obtain them—even like this—so wasn’t that a relief?

Still, the “ninth region,” huh.

He couldn’t help but chuckle as he recalled his sister saying it was a boring region and to skip it fast.

Figures something would pop up there after all.

Of course, he wasn’t planning on heading there right this second.

Not when Seong still had a target he was focused on.

Deathbone Dragon, Belzarach.

He had to bring that thing down—so it wasn’t time to go just yet, but he now knew where his next destination would be.

Although—

‘Should I just go ahead and challenge Belzarach here?’

He had just obtained new power from the Masked Lord, and he now possessed the new Mirrorblade Arts.

Wasn’t this enough to make it doable?

Just as he was considering it—

Helena approached Seong and said,

“You’re not ready yet.”

“Hmmm, still?”

“Yeah, you need to raise your level a bit more.”

Seong thought he might be strong enough already.

But if Helena was saying that, there had to be a good reason for it.

So Seong nodded, agreeing with her assessment.

At the same time, Helena looked at him and explained.

“Your technique is fine, but your level’s too low. That means your attacks might end up getting halved. One of Belzarach’s abilities works like that.”

“Ahh.”

Now he understood what she meant.

It was a common mechanic in games—if the level gap was too large, the damage you dealt would be reduced by half.

Belzarach must be that kind of boss.

If that was the case, then it couldn’t be helped.

He had no choice but to raise his level here.

Thinking that, Seong turned to his vassals and smiled.

“Then let’s grind some more levels.”

At Seong’s command, everyone bowed their heads and moved out, splitting into groups to take command of Seong’s undead legions.

Thanks to that, they were able to divide and conquer multiple battlefields simultaneously—and that day, Seong gained four more levels, reaching Level 268.

The Silverain family, inheritors of the Mirrorblade Arts, were a highly respected noble house even within the Rieskan Kingdom.

Even among families known for their high-tier swordsmanship, most could not rise above nobility—but the Silverain family was a full-on count house that held the title of Count.

And now that very count house was in an uproar.

The cause?

The Sword’s Mirror, a sacred text passed down as a family heirloom, had begun to glow.

When the Sword’s Mirror glows, it means only one thing—

That a successor has been chosen. In other words, that the original heir—Reinndel—was dead.

The uproar was inevitable with word of Reinndel’s death.

Ricardo Silverain, Reinndel’s father and head of the count house, called an emergency family council without even taking time to grieve, and all key figures of the house gathered at once.

“...W-What is going on?! Reinndel is dead?!”

“What in the world could have happened...”

“What did the Sword Saint say?!”

The uncles of Reinndel—Ricardo’s younger brothers and executives in the family—were in a panic as they bombarded Ricardo with questions.

But Ricardo sat with his head hung low, showing no signs of raising it.

Even that alone was enough for everyone in the room to understand.

That Reinndel truly was dead.

Just as everyone froze in stunned silence—

A voice finally came from Ricardo, who sat with his head down, resting it in his arms.

“The Sword Saint informed me of Reinndel’s death during a mission. He was dispatched to an unexplored region near the city of Nocturne, and afterward, all contact was lost.”

Which meant that whoever killed Reinndel was also still there.

And Ricardo continued.

“The Sword Saint has expressed his regret regarding the incident and has granted permission for our house to dispatch our knights.”

“Ooooh! The great Sword Saint himself!”

“Our vengeance has been sanctioned!”

“We can’t just let this go!!!”

Typical of a knightly house.

None of them hid their excitement, speaking one after another.

That they had to attack immediately.

Ricardo, Count of the house, nodded along with them.

They needed to dispatch a large force to that location and uncover the truth.

If his genius son had died, it must have been through some underhanded trick.

Blood must be repaid with blood.

With a dangerous gleam in his eyes, Count Ricardo said:

“Assemble the houses that will aid ours.”

That was no different from declaring war.

And all the executives of the family shouted with wide smiles:

“Let the blood revenge begin!!!”

“Blood vengeance for Reinndel!!!”

“Let us console Reinndel’s spirit!!!”

Amid the fanatical outcry, bordering on madness, Ricardo’s eyes glinted coldly as he added:

“We’ll send a scouting unit first. Make it discreet—select only those who can gather reliable intel.”

Though they seemed to be preparing thoroughly, they knew one thing—but not two.

They didn’t realize—

That the Sword Saint was just using them to clean up his mess without lifting a finger.

1.

Baek Jiwoo, Team Leader of the Event Management Team.

She had been living a relatively happy life for over a month now.

After the Temple of Apophis incident, Chairman Park Won had given approval to scale back on event load.

Not that she wasn’t busy.

Only about four months remained before the 2nd anniversary event that had been scrapped due to the Apophis incident.

They had to begin preparations soon, so it was indeed a busy time—but unlike before, she no longer had to pull all-nighters or go days without going home. So overall, she was quite satisfied.

Busy, yes—but not frantic. That’s how she’d put it.

And in the midst of that pleasant life—

A warning message popped up in front of Baek Jiwoo, and the coffee she’d been sipping spilled from her smiling lips.

“Ufufufufu~ What sort of alert is this now?”

The moment they heard her laughter, every member of the Event Management Team instinctively felt a chill down their spine and swallowed dryly.

But no one dared speak to her.

No one wanted to get caught in the splash zone.

Though no one said a word, Baek Jiwoo’s eyes were already glazed over.

The reason?

[User 『Seong』 has acquired a clue regarding the World Raid Boss 『Deathbone Dragon, Belzarach Draxion』.]

[Probability of the World Raid Boss 『Deathbone Dragon, Belzarach Draxion』 awakening has surged to 98.997%.]

[Estimated time remaining before World Raid Boss Event activation: 72 hours.]

It was the message that popped up after Seong cleared the Masked Lord’s Tomb.

In other words, it had been about 48 hours—two days—since Seong had killed Reinndel.

Which meant she had to prepare a full World Raid Boss Event within that time.

“...How am I supposed to do this?”

The laughter vanished from Baek Jiwoo’s face, replaced by serious shock as she gulped.

Even if she pulled three all-nighters, it felt impossible.

So, just in case, /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ Baek Jiwoo called Immortal.

To gauge just how urgent the situation was and how much of an event needed to be created.

She started with the most important question.

“Immortal, what are the odds of User 『Seong』 soloing the World Raid Boss, Belzarach?”

[Calculating User 『Seong』’s probability of soloing the World Raid Boss 『Deathbone Dragon, Belzarach Draxion』 at current level.]

[Calculation in progress.]

[Though his level is still low, User 『Seong』 is leveling rapidly due to knowledge of Belzarach’s traits.]

[If he reaches Level 270 in his current state and proceeds to solo the raid, the estimated victory rate is 57.31%.]

“Hmmmmmm.”

A pretty high number—but also borderline.

It was just shy of being confident enough to say he’d win.

If it had gone over 70%, Baek Jiwoo would’ve considered skipping the major event and just creating a smaller one.

As she debated, it dawned on her—what was the point in stressing over it?

She still had the 2nd anniversary event to prepare, and with only three days, building a proper World Raid event was impossible anyway.

Still, she had an idea for a smaller event.

First, she needed to ask.

“I’ll check with the chairman.”

Baek Jiwoo decided this had passed her threshold and contacted Chairman Park Won.

[Team Leader Baek Jiwoo – Chairman, the World Raid Boss 『Deathbone Dragon, Belzarach Draxion』 is about to awaken. It looks like User 『Seong』 triggered it again.]

[Park Won – Ah, that’s troublesome. Since it’s a World Raid Boss, Immortal must’ve alerted you to prepare an event, right?]

Of course, it was Chairman Park Won.

Baek Jiwoo quickly responded.

[Team Leader Baek Jiwoo – Yes, so I’m preparing an event on my own discretion. But in this case, we’ll need User 『Seong』’s approval. The event I’m currently planning is... (abridged)... something along these lines. But if he doesn’t approve, it’s all pointless.]

[Park Won – Hmm. Then tell him he can select the reward of his choice for this World Raid Boss, and ask for his consent that way.]

[Team Leader Baek Jiwoo – Understood. I’ll proceed accordingly.]

[Park Won – Thank you as always for your hard work.]

[Team Leader Baek Jiwoo – Not at all. Thank you, Chairman.]

With that, Baek Jiwoo ended the call and nodded in satisfaction.

This meant far less work.

Beaming, Baek Jiwoo began preparing to contact Seong.

Though a whole day passed before she actually sent the message, she had no regrets—it was the perfect proposal.

At the same time, she sent the exact same proposal to Rapid, Seong’s guild—and when they received it, the entire guild exploded into chaos.
