The Game of a Legendary Genius Dark Mage

”Hero’s Assembly?”

What could that be?

Seong had just heard about the nine heroes, but he didn’t really know much about them.

They were probably the strongest figures in the world, from what he could gather. But now, there was talk of a meeting of those heroes, and someone had come to escort him?

Was he being summoned to the Hero’s Assembly?

And did the person sense that doubt?

”Don’t worry, you’re not being summoned to the Hero’s Assembly. I’m just here to take you there.”

Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.

Still, Seong was curious about the situation. He decided to ask what was going on.

The agent of Overpalace spoke again.

”Once we get to Hexia, Lady Kalina will explain everything.”

”Hmm.”

At this point, Seong had no reason to refuse. He had nothing else to do in Sisvald, and he was already planning to head to Hexia.

Understanding that, Seong agreed, and the Overpalace agent nodded, using his power.

The scenery around Seong seemed to melt away in an illusion, and in an instant, Seong felt his body being pulled somewhere, making him a bit dizzy before the location changed completely.

Inside the grand building of Overpalace’s Hexia branch.

Standing before him and the agent was Kalina, holding a twisted mask in her hands.

“Welcome back. I apologize for summoning you in such an unceremonious manner.”

“No problem. It’s fine.”

“Ah, your forgiveness is like the vast sea. Thank you. Now, would you like to sit down while I explain?”

Kalina spoke with politeness and caution. Seong glanced around and saw a plush sofa right behind him, so he naturally sat down.

The agent vanished as soon as they were transferred, leaving only Seong and Kalina in the room.

Kalina herself then brought in tea and handed it to Seong.

The fragrance was surprisingly pleasant.

Without thinking, Seong took a sip.

[You have consumed the ”Spectrum Leaf” for the first time.] [All stats have increased by +5.]

“...?”

Just drinking tea made his stats go up?

Since it seemed to be a one-time effect, it wouldn’t increase again, but to see all his stats rise by 5 with a single sip was impressive.

Seong was astonished.

“That’s some very fine tea leaves I managed to acquire.”

“I see.”

Judging by how Kalina described it, the Overpalace was likely involved in something legendary.

Seong, feeling slightly perplexed, set the cup down and swallowed nervously.

Kalina noticed Seong’s reaction and began the conversation.

“I deeply apologize again for the sudden summons.”

“So, what does the Hero’s Assembly have to do with me?”

Seong already knew Overpalace was connected to one of the nine heroes, Black Star.

They had communicated through letters—well, only messages, not exactly direct communication.

In any case, when Seong asked, Kalina spoke with a look of regret.

“There won’t be any harm to your position from the Hero’s Assembly. However, after this, there may be a huge festival for the outsiders.”

“A festival for the outsiders?”

“Yes, Black Star has worked tirelessly to open ‘that.’ And when it’s revealed during this Hero’s Assembly, it will allow us to give you the complete item.”

“Ah?”

So, the meeting of the world’s strongest figures across the continents, not just the East Asia server, was being held because of Seong? And for what? To give him some item?

“They are delivering it to me?”

“That’s right.”

The scale of this was becoming overwhelming.

Before Seong could ask more about this festival, Kalina spoke again.

This translation is the intellectual property of Novelight.

“It’s related to the legendary nightmare, Apophis. The plan is to awaken it and create a grand festival for all outsiders across the continent.”

[You have gained information about the legendary nightmare, ”Apophis.”] [You have gained information about the ”Temple of Apophis.”]

“...???”

Seong was completely confused.

What was Apophis?

Still, one thing was clear.

‘Looks like a massive event is coming soon.’

That much was certain.

0.

At the E-World Headquarters, Park Won, the president, was usually a person who rarely took action.

In other words, the fact that he was taking action now meant something major was happening.

And so it was now.

The individuals gathered in the conference room were all key figures.

They were not just high-ranking employees; they were the core members of various departments.

Each of them had proven their competence and earned Park Won’s approval.

The air was thick with tension as they all exchanged sighs.

Given the nature of the task, it was clear what was to come:

”Looks like we’re going to be working through the night.”

”I’ll need to inform my family I won’t be home for a few days.”

”I’m doomed.”

The realization of the immense workload ahead set the atmosphere, and despite the serious nature of the meeting, there was an unspoken understanding among the group.

Among them, the youngest, Lee Won-sang, swallowed nervously.

What in the world was going on?

‘Why am I even involved in this...?’

He really wanted to complain, but seeing the looks of sympathy from his colleagues made him feel a little better.

Just as they were waiting in this tense atmosphere, a woman, with lifeless eyes and a haggard look, approached Lee Won-sang and sat next to him.

“Team Leader Baek Jiwoo?”

“...Please, help me.”

Seong couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine after hearing the sudden plea for help.

For some reason, it felt as if this would be his future, and that thought unnerved him.

As Lee Won-sang swallowed nervously, he turned his gaze to Baek Jiwoo, who shook his head.

Then, Baek Jiwoo muttered ominously.

“No, everyone here is doomed.”

The chilling words from Baek Jiwoo made several people flinch and react.

“Hey, Baek Team Leader, do you know what’s going on?”

“Why were we called here? I understand the Hero’s Assembly, but what’s really happening?”

“I’m guessing this has something to do with Overlord...”

“If Baek Team Leader knows, is it an event?”

“Are we all being called here for an event?”

As the group questioned Baek Jiwoo, he gave a sinister laugh.

“Ehehehe.”

The eerie laughter sent shivers down their spines, and one by one, they turned their heads away, unable to bear looking at him.

It was clear that Baek Jiwoo was on the verge of a breakdown.

Thus, everyone remained quiet and sat in their places, avoiding further conversation.

Lee Won-sang, observing the scene, swallowed again.

What on earth was happening?

Why was he even here?

Lost in these thoughts, Lee Won-sang continued to sit, waiting.

It wasn’t long before a man stepped onto the stage at the front of the conference room.

The genius who created Eternal World, the one who owned the company, the president—Park Won.

He greeted them with a microphone, his voice ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) booming throughout the room.

[Thank you all for gathering.]

Finally, they might learn the reason they had been called together.

Everyone waited in tension as Park Won spoke carefully.

[You’ve probably heard that the nine heroes will be holding a meeting. But if it was just a meeting, there would be no need for all of us to gather like this. The reason I’ve called you here is that after the Hero’s Assembly, the ”Temple of Apophis” will be activated.]

As expected, Park Won wasted no time in getting straight to the point, and everyone fell silent.

“Apophis?”

“It’s coming out already?”

“Can we even handle this?”

“I thought the second anniversary event was still months away?”

“Wait, how do the nine heroes even know about this?”

Everyone murmured in confusion, trying to make sense of the situation, but Park Won simply smiled.

[Yes, it’s confirmed because Black Star, the leader of the nine heroes, called for this meeting. It seems the Overlord, Seong, a user who is now near level 200, has triggered this. This is to deliver what’s necessary to Seong, who will play a role in the Apophis situation.]

As Park Won spoke, everyone turned to Lee Won-sang.

Since Seong was the user under Lee Won-sang’s management, everyone looked at him curiously.

Lee Won-sang, on the verge of wanting to flee, felt the weight of everyone’s gaze.

Park Won, observing the reactions, smiled faintly and continued.

[Though the Overlord class was expected, Black Star may have acted hastily. It seems the Homunculus Seong created played a part in this, but we aren’t entirely sure yet, so I’ll refrain from saying too much. Either way, the Hero’s Assembly will likely trigger the Temple of Apophis. You all need to prepare for it.]

At those words, the developers began to scratch their heads, trying to process what was happening.

What exactly was the Temple of Apophis?

Anyone unfamiliar with it would be lost, but no one here was unaware.

‘...The second anniversary event, which was supposed to be five months away, is coming up early?’

The Temple of Apophis and Apophis itself were events the developers had prepared for the second anniversary. It was supposed to be even bigger than last year’s first anniversary event.

It was meant to be a global event, available to all users, not just those in the East Asia server, but worldwide. Furthermore, it would cater to all levels of users.

But now, unexpectedly, it would be pushed forward by five months.

As the realization set in, the room grew tense.

Park Won, chuckling, added:

[Of course, I’ll be participating too, and we’ll make full use of the AI Immortal.]

That was some consolation, but pushing the event up by five months was an unimaginable change.

More importantly, managing such a sudden shift would be no easy task.

‘Other servers will be in chaos too...’

Lee Won-sang thought grimly.

According to Park Won, developers from other servers would also be involved, so perhaps the situation wouldn’t be as bad as it seemed.

After explaining this, Park Won assigned each team their tasks.

The Temple of Apophis had to be activated, and though the Hero’s Assembly hadn’t begun yet, if the heroes used their powers to summon the temple too soon, it could lead to a disaster.

Everyone needed to hurry.

This situation might require an unprecedented long-term maintenance announcement.

While everyone struggled to keep calm, they quickly turned to their duties as instructed by Park Won.

They had to finish the task, no matter what.

[Though there’s nothing much to do during the development phase, afterward, I’d like the User Management Team to handle the users. The Temple of Apophis will be massive, and there will inevitably be conflicts between users. I’d like you to take action against those who are excessively malicious.]

At these words, Lee Won-sang closed his eyes briefly.

The User Management Team in the East Asia server.

And of course, considering that there were over 300 million players in Eternal World, including China, that represented one-third of the total global user base.

Lee Won-sang secretly wiped away a tear.
