A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 571: Chapter 469: Dominating a Region (3)

Even as a subordinate to a major sect, the independence of a Golden Core Sect remains strong. The most prominent feature is that, aside from assigned tasks, they are at liberty to wage wars and bear their own fortunes and disasters; the Upper Sect does not interfere, nor does it manage their internal affairs or economy.

In summary, after an elaborate discussion, Lu Qian has a basic understanding of the characteristics of a Golden Core Sect, and he knows that in the northwest counties of Cangzhou, except for Beichui County which is a subordinate to a Nascent Soul Sect, the rest are independent Golden Core Sects.

Now, the alliance of the three families has had a significant impact on the landscape of northwest Cangzhou.

”Although independent, basic courtesy needs to be maintained. Now that Yunshan Sect is newly promoted, I suggest visiting Meihua Square,” Master Cangfeng said, ”to register with the four sects overseeing Cangzhou, and it also serves to propagate the reputation of Yunshan Sect.” ℯℯ𝑙.

Lu Qian remembered all this, and expressed his gratitude.

...

At the end of January, in the 373rd year of Jia Shen, the last high-level meeting of the Shuangye Alliance was held in the ruins of Lingsha City. In addition to the senior members of the Shuangye Alliance, there were also disciple representatives from the Zhou Family, Spirit Snake Peak, and Zhuquan Sect attending.

In fact, the topics for this meeting were privately discussed and conceived in advance, hence it was unanimously approved.

In the defense battle of Lingsha City, there were 136 cultivators from the Zhou Family, Spirit Snake Peak, and Zhuquan Sect who participated in the battle, with 63 casualties, nearly half.

After this battle, the Sect Leader Zhao Xianzong of Spirit Snake Peak was killed, and with Spirit Snake Peak and Zhuquan Sect combined, even including the low-tier cultivators who did not participate in the battle, each only had slightly over forty people left.

More importantly, Yunshan Sect has ascended to become a Golden Core Sect, while the three sects including the Zhou Family are merely Qi Cultivation Minor Sects that have not even achieved Foundation Establishment, making it impossible for them to continue as allies.

The Shuangye Alliance naturally reached its time for disbanding, and Lu Qian offered everyone two choices.

The first choice is to grant them territory with a Spirit Vein, and become partner sects of Yunshan Sect from now on.

Partner sects is a concept devised by Lu Qian himself. It ranks higher than subordinate sects; for example, they do not need to pay annual tribute; aside from executing Yunshan Sect’s diplomatic policy and responding to Yunshan Sect’s military call and task assignments, they enjoy a high degree of autonomy; with Yunshan Sect’s authorization, they can supervise the subordinate sects of Yunshan Sect, etc.

The second choice is to directly integrate into Yunshan Sect. The original sect leader can serve as an honorary elder of Yunshan Sect, enjoying the treatment of Yunshan Sect’s elders, but all disciples must start as outer disciples.

The Zhou Family chose to become a partner sect of Yunshan Sect, while the cultivators of Spirit Snake Peak refused to elect a new sect leader, strongly demanding direct integration into Yunshan Sect.

It’s a joke, Yunshan Sect is now a Golden Core Sect; being a disciple of a Qi Cultivation Sect or a Golden Core Sect, even a fool knows which to choose.

After a period of hesitation and consideration, the Sect Leader of Zhuquan Sect, Sunx Hanjun, also chose full integration into Yunshan Sect.

Sunx Hanjun was never a tough person. The three sects were previously vassals of the Zhou Family, with Spirit Snake Peak as their main leader. Later, Wuwang Temple merged into Yunshan Sect earlier, and now Spirit Snake Peak also chooses to merge, leaving Sunx Hanjun with a feeling of melancholy and the impulse to follow the trend.

Moreover, over the past years, Lingsha City has deeply integrated with Yunshan Sect. The richness of Yunshan Sect’s resources, the depth of its heritage, and the excellence of its benefits have allowed her own sect to enjoy considerable glory, and her disciples have long fantasized about the day they could integrate into Yunshan Sect.

Furthermore, she secretly approached another honorary elder, the former Sect Leader of Qingli Mountain, Xuu Yingcai. Xuu Yingcai, full of vitality, described to her his leisurely and carefree life, stating that as long as one is not attached to power, being an honorary elder who only receives salary without doing any work is indeed a rare delight in the world.

Is there anything left to hesitate about?

Lu Qian accepted Spirit Snake Peak and Zhuquan Sect. After years of trials and integrated development, the disciples of these two sects have a high recognition of Yunshan Sect, can seamlessly complete their identity transition, and their loyalty is guaranteed, with no excessive concerns.

Thus, the last high-level meeting passed the resolution for the Zhou Family to become a partner sect, and for Spirit Snake Peak and Zhuquan Sect to be integrated into Yunshan Sect.

The Shuangye Alliance finally completed its historical mission and officially announced its dissolution, nine years after its establishment.

After the integration of sects, Yunshan Sect had a total of 349 cultivators.

By the beginning of February, the first phase of Yunshan Sect’s relocation was largely completed, with a new Mountain Gate established at Minglong Mountain.

On February 15th, Yunshan Sect issued an order for the patriarchs and sect leaders of the Zhou Family, Spirit Talisman Sect, Xianyou Sect, Shouzhuo Sect, and Kong Family, along with 22 Qi Cultivation Minor Sects within the territory, to all come to Minglong Mountain to pay respects to Lu Qian and Guh Niqiang, discuss merits and rewards, and carry out territorial divisions.

The Zhou Family, a partner sect of Yunshan Sect, had over a hundred family disciples, and were granted a ternary high-tier Spirit Vein at Wenning Mountain. After the dissolution of Shuangye Alliance, the Zhou Family held one-tenth of the shares of Shuangye Square previously held by the Alliance, while Yunshan Sect held three-tenths.

Spirit Talisman Sect, a partner sect of Yunshan Sect, had one Foundation Establishment Feather Scholar (Zhuang Hui, Mid-Stage Foundation Establishment) and over thirty disciples, and returned to their ancestral ground at the ternary high-tier Spirit Vein at Golden Dawn Peak.

Xianyou Sect, a subordinate sect of Yunshan Sect, had one Foundation Establishment Feather Scholar (Liuu Muchi, Mid-Stage Foundation Establishment) and eighty disciples, and was granted a ternary high-tier Spirit Vein at Kongming Mountain.

Shouzhuo Sect, a subordinate sect of Yunshan Sect, had over thirty disciples, and returned to their ancestral ground at the ternary mid-tier Spirit Vein at Fucang Mountain.

Kong Family, a subordinate sect of Yunshan Sect, had one Foundation Establishment Feather Scholar (Kong Pengfei, Early-Stage Foundation Establishment) and over ten family disciples, and remained at the ternary mid-tier Spirit Vein at Fire Crystal Valley.

The original ternary high-tier Spirit Vein at Kong Family Castle was renamed New Castle and directly governed by Yunshan Sect.

Simultaneously, rewards were given based on the merits of the five families, with adjustments made to their territorial ranges. As a gesture of compassion, three subordinate sects were exempted from a ten-year annual tribute, and financial support was provided for the Kong Family to rebuild their ancestral land.

For the twenty-two Qi Cultivation Minor Sects, fourteen belonged to Chongming County. Of these, eight had previous vassal relationships, which were maintained with their original sect leaders; the vassal relationships of the remaining six were terminated, and they were brought under Yunshan Sect as vassal sects.

All eight sects belonging to Sanshan County were brought under Yunshan Sect as vassal sects.

After finishing the division of Spirit Veins and territories, Yunshan Sect owned Minglong Mountain, Yongcui Valley, New Castle, Lingsha City, Qingli Mountain, Liuhua Valley, and other Spirit Veins, directly governing seventy-two county towns with a population of twelve million, and producing over thirty Spirit Seeds each year!

That night, a grand banquet was held on Minglong Mountain, with colorful lights shooting into the sky, obscuring the starlight and moonlight.

Partner sects, subordinate sects, and vassal sects all took turns to pay respects to Lu Qian and Guh Niqiang and received the Golden Core Imperial Decree issued by Lu Qian.

The crowd joined in unison in prayers and wishes: may Yunshan Sect’s legacy endure for eternity, and may its blessings last forever.

Lu Qian raised his glass of fine wine, but his gaze passed through the Great Hall of Minglong Mountain, traversed over endless mountains and rivers, and settled upon the ancestral land of Yunshan.

To our forefathers, are you seeing this? Yunshan Sect has now been reborn and flourishes in one region, surpassing the peak of its founding days.

The vows of the past are not forgotten even for a day; may our forefathers continue to protect us, and I will surely carry Yunshan Sect to great heights.

With a toast, he drank it all.
