A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 48: Chapter 45: Coming to the Rescue

The girl instinctively struggled, the scar-faced man was enraged, raising his hand to give a slap, knocking the girl to the ground.

The girl let out a scream, got up, and tried to escape. The man on the ground sat up suddenly, extended his hand, and tightly grasped the girl’s arm: ”Yan’Er, help your father just this once, when I have money, I’ll come to redeem you!”

The girl stared blankly at her father’s fierce expression, suddenly becoming motionless.

The scar-faced man sneered, reaching out to grab the girl. Suddenly, a whoosh was heard, and when he hurriedly withdrew his hand, his arm had already been hit solidly with a stick, causing him to cry out in pain.

A middle-aged man also let out a miserable scream as a stick heavily struck his palm, his arm shrank back, releasing the girl.

Lin Le gripped the stick with one hand and pulled the girl behind him with the other.

He glared at everyone, shouting: ”Wu the Second brought it upon himself, deal with him as you wish, but Wu Yan is not related to this matter! In broad daylight, with many Immortal Masters nearby, don’t think about seizing her!”

The scar-faced man shook his swollen arm in fury: ”Where did this little rascal come from, daring to meddle in Joyful Square’s affairs, you must have a death wish!”

The muscular man waved his hand, and seven or eight men with vicious expressions drew their weapons, surrounding Lin Le and Wu Yan.

Wu the Second shouted: ”Lin Le, my family affairs are none of your business! You get away!”

”I don’t care about your mess, but if you die, don’t drag Wu Yan down with you.” Feeling the girl’s trembling behind him, Lin Le tightened his grip on the stick.

”Kid, I gave you a chance.” The muscular man shouted angrily, ”Hit him!”

A few thugs wielded sharp blades threateningly, and the remaining turned the blade, aiming the back of the knife headlessly at Lin Le.

Lin Le roared angrily, waving the stick wildly, but how could he cover everything? In an instant, his face and body received several hits, the powerful impact making the youth stagger, almost falling to the ground.

But the intense pain instead stimulated Lin Le’s ferocity, he only felt a slight warmth in his Dantian, all his Spiritual Power concentrating in his arms.

Lin Le released a beast-like roar, swinging forcefully. Only a thudding sound was heard, and the stick in his hand broke instantly, causing the long knives held by several thugs to fly out!

Only a buzzing sound was heard, the few long knives scattered, embedding into the earthen wall.

Everyone was stunned, the scar-faced man exclaimed: ”Spiritual Power!”

The thugs retreated a few steps instantly. Spiritual Power! Could this youth in front of them actually be an Immortal Master?

The muscular man dared not act rashly either, looking at Lin Le with uncertainty and surprise, he actually cupped his hands: ”Young brother, are you under the Immortal Master sect?”

Lin Le’s heart stirred, intending to bluff to intimidate. But then Wu the Second shouted hoarsely: ”Bosses, don’t be fooled by this brat! He’s no Immortal Master! Long ago, he tested to have a Spiritual Root, the neighbors all praised him, only later to find he’s merely a Pseudo-Spiritual Root, no Immortal Master would take him! He kept pestering without self-awareness, kowtowing numerous times stubbornly just to learn a bit of skill, and now even dreams of not giving up!”

Pierced to the heart, Lin Le suddenly lifted his head, his angry gaze like a wounded beast, scaring Wu the Second into silence.

The muscular man angrily cursed: ”Almost got fooled by you, you little rascal, hit, beat him to death!”

”Dad!” Wu Yan felt extreme disappointment toward the man slumped on the ground, she wiped away tears from her face, pushing Lin Le’s arm, ”Brother Le, you should go, don’t mind me anymore. This is my fate!”

”Fate? What is fate?” Hearing this, recalling his mother coughing up blood inside the house, Lin Le pulled her furiously, ”Ridiculous, even if I die, I won’t bow to fate!”

The scar-faced man shouted: ”Go on! You bunch of cowards, kill this brat. Not just him, even if there are Immortal Masters here, I’d still beat him without hesitation!”

The thugs gathered again, this time aligning the blade, targeting the unarmed boy and girl.

The gleaming blades raised high, descending heavily. Lin Le flipped over, protecting Wu Yan in his embrace, tightly closing his eyes.

A beam of silver light suddenly flickered, a blood mist rising in the air!

Clang clang, the blades fell to the ground, blood pouring, the thugs instantly clutching their arms, wailing loudly.

Lin Le swiftly turned his head, seeing the scar-faced man and muscular man standing there in fear, each with a six-inch Silver Needle at their throat. ℯ

He joyfully shouted: ”Immortal Master Qi!”

Lu Qian’s figure appeared in the warm morning light, dressed in narrow-sleeved, crow blue clothes, with a Silver Needle flickering with starlight in his hand, he coldly said: ”You just said, even with Immortal Masters here, you’d still beat without pause?”

If not for the deadly Silver Needle at their throats, the scar-faced man and muscular man would’ve kneeled to beg for mercy.

The scar-faced man’s eyes filled with fear, stammering: ”Spare us... spare us, Immortal Master, we truly didn’t know...”

The Silver Needle trembled slightly, the muscular man let out a shrill scream, his legs trembling, and even trickles of foul liquid flowed down.

Lu Qian disdainfully waved his hand, the Starlight Needle flickered, those two screamed miserably, their right arms drooped limply.

”Remember clearly, Lin Le is under my protection. If I see you again, it won’t be a mere arm you’ll lose. Begone!”

The two received the mercy as if pardoned, knelt and hastily kowtowed a few times, fleeing with a group of maimed thugs crawling away.

Lu Qian’s gaze turned to Lin Le, he was about to speak when the youth suddenly knelt down, loudly pleading: ”Immortal Master Qi! Please, save my mother! As long as you can save her life, I am willing to be at your beck and call, risking my life to repay your profound kindness!”

Lu Qian lifted his palm, a stream of air supported the youth up: ”Take me to see her.”

Lin Le felt ecstatic, leading Lu Qian to the small house. Wu Yan gritted her teeth, not looking at Wu the Second, she followed inside. Wu the Second crept up shamefully, hiding in his own house.

Upon entering, Lin Le screamed, only to see the woman had fainted inside.

During the earlier dispute, she heard everything clearly from inside, trying to get up to save her son, but in a rush, she fainted cold on the ground.

Lu Qian quickly laid her flat on the bed, placing his fingers on the pulse, letting Spiritual Power circulate within her body, he already had the situation figured out.

Looking at the anxious youth, Lu Qian didn’t drag things on: ”Your mother worked hard while young, exhausted her body, and now cold air has invaded her lungs and organs, spreading throughout her body.”

Lin Le knelt down again, pleading fearfully: ”Immortal Master, there’s still hope for my mother! I once asked another Immortal Master, who said as long as a Solar Fire Pill is taken, she would recover. I beg you to check again, please save my mother!”

Lu Qian nodded: ”This illness is beyond mortals, but cultivators can indeed cure it. However, that person only told you half; first, use the Solar Fire Pill to expel the cold air from your mother’s body, then use Spiritual Medicine to warm and replenish gradually. I’m not proficient in Medical Dao, for specific nurturing, you must seek further expertise in the Workshop District.”

Though unable to heal immediately, confirming his mother had hope brought joy to Lin Le’s face.

Lu Qian smiled slightly, taking out a small porcelain bottle from the Storage Pouch, placing it in Lin Le’s hand: ”This Solar Fire Pill is not an ordinary pill, it’s quite expensive. But it so happens I have one, quickly give it to your mother.”

Never expected it, the war bounty obtained from Shengyi Sect’s Chen Xingshan could be of use here.
