War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

A woman dressed in a long gray robe flew into the battle ring. A hat and a veil that concealed her face made her stand out even more under the shining sun. It would look more inconspicuous at night.

Someone looked at Liu Xu Yan and said, “I didn’t expect there to be two female participants with the strength of a Five Star God of War during the Battle of the Geniuses. In the previous Battles of the Geniuses, even one female participant with the strength of a Five Star God of War was considered rare.”

The crowd agreed with these words. Although there were many female powerhouses in the Devata Realms and female gods in the Realms of Gods, in general, there were more males. In comparison, the female powerhouses, whether they were celestials; gods; or supreme powerhouses, were rare.

“Hey, who do you think Liu Xu Yan will challenge?”

Everyone was curious about who Liu Xu Yan would challenge. Since Duan Ling Tian had just finished his match with Yu Dong Fang, he was out of the running. Liu Xu Yan’s match was time to rest even though he clearly did not need any rest.

At this time, Liu Xu Yan’s eyes swept past the participants with strength comparable to a Five Star God of War before she said, “I want to challenge the 7th participant, Ye Dong Li.”

Ye Dong Li was the other female participant who advanced to the final round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses.

The crowd was not too surprised by Liu Xu Yan’s choice since they had suspected this would happen since Ye Dong Li was temporarily ranked higher than Liu Xu Yan.

Tang San Pao, who was sitting behind Duan Ling Tian, shook his head and said, “As the saying goes, ‘Two tigers can’t share a mountain’.”

When Ye Dong Li flew into the battle ring, she bluntly said, “Liu Xu Yan, you’ve made a mistake by challenging me.”

“You seem really confident,” Liu Xu Yan said tonelessly. Clearly, she was not bothered by Ye Dong Li’s confidence. If anything, it seemed like her fighting spirit soared even higher than before. She clearly could not wait to fight Ye Dong Li.

Ye Dong Li flashed forward as green energy appeared beneath her feet. In just a moment, green vines began to sprout on the ground. Based on this, it was clear she comprehended the law of wood.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The green vines shot into the air toward Liu Xu Yan like green pythons that were about to sink their fangs into her flesh. Nevertheless, she remained calm faced with Ye Dong Li’s attack from her law of wood’s Fused Profundity. The corners of robes fluttered in the air as wind blades began to appear around her and spun swiftly.

Ye Dong Li scoffed coldly as she manipulated the vines toward Liu Xu Yan, trying to gain the upper hand.

Liu Xu Yan was not a pushover. With just a thought, wind blades spun out to meet the incoming vines.

However, the wind blades barely left a scratch on the vines because Ye Dong Li had boosted the vines with her Celestial Origin Energy and various profundities.

“Merge!” Liu Xu Yan cried out.

The wind blades converged into a huge giant wind blade before it swept toward the vines again.

Swoosh!

The wind blade severed several vines at the front before it spun down toward the base of the vines.

At this moment, a streak of dark green light surged out and entered the vines. The vines began to glow as sharp thorns erupted on the vines.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion rang in the air when the huge wind blade collided with the vines, sparking embers of fire.

“Not bad,” Liu Xu Yan remarked before she rushed out like a gust of wind.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At this time, to those weaker than a Five Star God Of War, Liu Xu Yan seemed to have vanished into thin air. They could only hear the sounds of wind howling as she moved. In fact, even those with the strength of a Five Star God of War could only see the afterimages she left in her wake.

“She’s so fast!” they exclaimed.

Most people thought Ye Dong Li would not be able to retaliate when the vines shooting toward Liu Xu Yan suddenly returned and surrounded Ye Dong Li in just a blink of an eye. They weaved an indestructible cage around Ye Dong Li in just a blink of an eye. The thorns of the cage of vines glinted coldly in the sunlight.

Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank!

A series of ear-piercing noises rang in the air when Liu Xu Yan’s attack landed on the cage of vines. However, she failed to break the cage.

Ye Dong Li, who was standing in the protection of the cage, said, “You’re really strong. It’ll be difficult to defeat you without a Celestial Weapon…”

“You’re not the only one with a Celestial Weapon,” Liu Xu Yan retorted. A red three-foot-long saber appeared as she raised her hand. The sharp saber looked as though it was covered with bloody veins.

“Our Celestial Weapons are really different…” Ye Dong Li said. A long whip appeared and twined around her body like a venomous serpent. Soon enough, the silhouette of a serpent appeared, staring coldly at Liu Xu Yan.

“A weapon spirit?” Liu Xu Yan’s expression changed drastically. She did not expect Ye Dong Li’s Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon to possess a weapon spirit.

The crowd was shocked by Ye Dong Li’s weapon spirit as well. Although there were a few participants whose weapons contained weapon spirits, all of them were from prominent forces. How could they not be surprised that Ye Dong Li, whose background was unknown, possessed a weapon with a weapon spirit? This proved that whoever her master was, he had to be remarkable as well. It was not easy to obtain weapons with weapon spirits after all. An Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon with a weapon spirit was comparable to an ordinary divine artifact without an artifact spirit.

Needless to say, primitive divine artifacts with artifact spirits were more powerful than Emperor Grade Celestial Weapons with weapon spirits. Weapon spirits were refined by humans, but artifact spirits were born. However, artifact spirits could be transferred to a different divine artifact. This was the case for Huang’er, who used the artifact spirit of Ling Jue Yun’s sister’s weapon. She was now the artifact spirit of Duan Ling Tian’s Seven Orifices Exquisite Sword.

Unlike everyone else, Tang San Pao was not surprised, “Her master is a god. It’s only natural she possesses an Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon with a weapon spirit.”

Since Duan Ling Tian and the others had learned from Tang San Pao that Ye Dong Li’s master was a god, they, too, were not surprised by Ye Dong Li’s weapon. Celestials considered Emperor Grade Celestial Weapons with weapon spirits as treasure, but that was not the case for gods. Even if a god was not a weapon craftsman, it would be easy for them to forge an Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon with a weapon spirit. Gods could refine weapon spirits with their divine flames and divine energy or capture a spirit to be made into weapon spirits.

“Unless Liu Xu Yan still has some tricks up her sleeve, the outcome of the match is clear…” Su Li said.

True enough, after Ye Dong Li brought her weapon out, she quickly gained the upper hand and defeated Liu Xu Yan.

In fact, Ye Dong Li and Liu Xu Yan were evenly matched. Ye Dong Li only won due to her Emperor Grade Celestial Weapon that contained a weapon spirit.

A hint of unwillingness flashed in Liu Xu Yan’s eyes as she said, “I wouldn’t be defeated if I had a weapon spirit…”

Ye Dong Li smiled faintly. “It was a good match.”

With that, another battle between participants with the strength of a Five Star God of War ended.

Following that, Xu Kong Hai said, “Huang Quan An, the 9th participant, please step forward.”
