War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

During the final bout of the fourth round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses, there were 100 participants who could be challenged. 75 out of the 100 participants were those who qualified in the second bout like Duan Ling Tian. The remaining 25 out of the 100 participants were those who advanced during the third bout.

The participants who were eliminated during the previous bouts in the fourth round would be given ten chances to issue challenges. Based on this, there would be roughly 1,000 matches if no one surrendered or if everyone used all their ten chances.

Needless to say, not everyone would use up all ten chances. Those who were truly powerful would usually be able to secure a place to advance to the next round after one or two challenges. Only those who were weak would usually use up all ten chances.

Since the final bout of the fourth round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses was rather interesting, apart from the young geniuses, the Heavenly Emperors were present at the venue as well.

As for the high-ranking officials of the Title Temple branches, they did not even leave during the boring third bout. Needless to say, they would be present during the final bout as well.

Xu Kong Hai, the Vice Temple Master of the main Title Temple, appeared in the air. He looked at the young geniuses for a moment before he said in an even tone, “The final bout for the fourth round of the Devata Realms’ Battle of the Geniuses will start today. The final participants will advance to the next round. Since I’m sure you’re all familiar with the rules, I won’t be repeating them… Those who were eliminated in the earlier bouts of the fourth run will challenge the 100 participants who qualified up until now. Apart from that, the list of participants and their descriptions has also been updated. You can look through them.”

As soon as Xu Kong Hai finished speaking, a list of names appeared above him,

The crowd instinctively looked up.

Duan Ling Tian found his name easily and discovered his description now was very different from before. It read: Duan Ling Tian. The only true disciple of the Heavenly Emperor of the Solitary Destructive Heaven. For now, he has shown the strength of a top Three Star God of War. If he’s able to cast a double Fused Profundity, his strength would be that of a Four Star God of War.

‘Their reasoning is logical based on what I’ve shown…’ Duan Ling Tian nodded inwardly. Then, he looked at Ling Jue Yu, Tang San Pao, and Su Li’s descriptions.

Ling Jue Yun’s description read:

Ling Jue Yun from the Wind Prop Heaven. Background unknown. The strength he has shown so far indicates that he’s at least as strong as a Four Star God of War.

Tang San Pao’s description was as followed:

Tang San Pao has been confirmed to have the strength of a Five Star God of War at least. His background is unknown.

Finally, Su Li’s description was as followed:

Su Li. A disciple of the Thousand Tribulations Sword Sect in the Jade Emperor Heaven. He had a breakthrough recently and possessed the strength of a Four Star God of War.

After reading through the descriptions, Tang San Pao gave Duan Ling Tian a thumbs-up as he said, “Duan Ling Tian, you hid your strength the best among the four of us. Generally, only those who are cunning are able to hide their strength so well…”

“Tang San Pao, you must be very confident about your strength, right?” Duan Ling Tian said as he looked at Tang San Pao from the corners of his eyes. A small smile could be seen on his face.

Chills ran up Tang San Pao’s spine immediately when he saw the smile on Duan Ling Tians face. He hastily said, “No, no, I’m joking. I’m just joking!”

Inwardly, Tang San Pao wondered to himself, ‘Is Duan Ling Tian truly strong enough to defeat me?’

Su Lu who was still looking at the list of names above Xu Kong Hai said, “There are quite a lot of participants who have strength comparable to a Four Star God of War.”

Upon hearing Su Li’s words, Duan Ling Tian looked at the list of names again. Indeed, they were more than twenty participants who were speculated to be as stronger or stronger than a Four Star God of War.

“It seems like the participants are finding it harder and harder to hide their strength as the competition continues…” Duan Ling Tian said as he looked at the names of almost 30 participants who were as strong as or stronger than a Four Star God of War.

“People rarely challenge participants with strength comparable to or stronger than a Four Star God of War. Those with strength comparable to a Four Star God of War usually are able to rank in the top 30,” Zhang Tian You said.

It was just as Zhang Tian You said. Most people would not dare to challenge those who were confirmed to have strength comparable to or stronger than a Four Star God of War. It was only natural that they would challenge those who were weaker. It did not make sense for them to challenge those who were stronger or would pose a higher difficulty after all.

Tang San Pao said with a smile, “Duan Ling Tian, I don’t think anyone will challenge the three of us… However, I have a feeling someone will challenge you…”

Who knew if Tang San Pao jinxed Duan Ling Tian, but someone really challenged Duan Ling Tian soon after.

“I, Ouyang Xu, would like to challenge Duan Ling Tian!”

The green-clad young man who challenged Duan Ling Tian had a medium-built. Despite his ordinary appearance, his eyes were extraordinarily bright and piercing. Golden sword rays as thin as needles circled him as he stood in the battle ring. Apart from that, a huge translucent golden sword ray could be seen beneath his feet as well.

“It is Ouyang Xu! He’s a young genius from our Solitary Destructive Heaven as well!” Wang Ting said with gleaming eyes, “He’s as strong as a Three Star God of War, and he’s rather famous in the Solitary Destructive Heaven. He’s also a Sword Celestial.”

Wang Ting paused for a moment as though she had just recalled something. Then, she said, “I heard that Ouyang Xu once kneeled outside the gates of the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven for a month, hoping that our Lord Heavenly Emperor would accept him as a disciple. Alas, our Lord Heavenly Emperor did not respond to him at all so he left after kneeling for a month. After that, as though obsessed, he kept challenging geniuses under the age of 1,000 in the Solitary Destructive Heaven and is undefeated. About 100 years ago, he was already speculated to be as strong as a Three Star God of War. At that time, he returned to the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven and kneeled for three months, begging our Lord Heavenly Emperor to accept him as a disciple. Unfortunately, just like before, our Lord Heavenly Emperor did not respond to him…”

At this point, Wang Ting paused for a moment as she looked at Duan Ling Tian meaningfully. Then, she continued to say, “However, he didn’t leave quietly like the first time. He began to cause a ruckus outside of the Heavenly Palace. He questioned why our Lord Heavenly Emperor refused to accept him and boasted that he could defeat or kill our Lord Heavenly Emperor’s only true disciple with just a move. I’m sure he was so confident at that because he knew you’re 300 years younger than him. All in all, the commotion he caused was centered around how our Lord Heavenly Emperor made a mistake accepting you as his true disciple… Naturally, he was more tactful with his words…”

“Oh? Is that so?” Duan Ling Tian raised an eyebrow. He finally understood why he felt a sense of hostility from Ouyang Xu.

Swoosh!

Following that, Duan Ling Tian left his seat and appeared in the battle ring in just a blink of an eye. He looked at Ouyang Xu and calmly said, “You can attack now…”

Ouyang Xu did not attack immediately. Instead, he sized Duan Ling Tian up before he asked in a deep voice, “Duan Ling Tian, do you know how long I’ve waited for this moment?”

Duan Ling Tian shook his head and said, “I don’t know nor am I interested in knowing.”

…

At the same time, the onlookers finally sensed the tension between Ouyang Xu and Duan Ling Tian.

“Hey, does Ouyang Xu have a grudge against Duan Ling Tian? The way he’s looking at Duan Ling Tian is as though he can’t wait to eat Duan Ling Tian alive.”

“You noticed that as well?! They must have enmity between them!”

“I came here with Ouyang Xu and the people from the Title Temple in the Solitary Destructive Heaven. Ouyang Xu is rather famous in the Solitary Destructive Heaven. However, this should be his first time meeting Duan Ling Tian. I don’t think there’s any enmity between them.”

“No enmity? How’s that possible?”

“Hey, you might not have heard about it, but Ouyang Xu begged Heavenly Emperor Feng Qing Yang to accept him as a disciple twice. He even kneeled outside the gates of the Heavenly Palace of the Solitary Destructive Heaven each time. However…”

As the discussions continued, most of the young geniuses finally discovered the reason for the tension between Ouyang Xu and Duan Ling Tian. As it turned out, Ouyang Xu was jealous and resentful that Feng Qing Yang refused to accept him and accepted Duan Ling Tian as a true disciple instead.

…

“Duan Ling Tian.” Ouyang Xu stared at Duan Ling Tian with eyes burning with hatred. “Today, I’ll show our Lord Heavenly Emperor what a big mistake he has made by accepting you as his true disciple. I’ll show him how powerless you are when faced with me!”

As soon as Ouyang Xu finished speaking, a golden light burst forth from his body. Following that, numerous small golden sword rays could be seen circling a huge golden sword.

Duan Ling Tian only smiled indifferently. “Alright, I’ll wait for you to attack…”

…

At this moment, Ding Fu, the Heavenly Emperor of the Primeval Heaven, chuckled before he said, “Brother Feng, you’re disciple is truly unruffled by everything…”

Feng Qing Yang smiled faintly in his response. His gaze was warm as he looked at Duan Ling Tian; he did not even spare a glance in Ouyang Xu’s direction.

“Duan Ling Tian, I’ll defeat you in ten moves!” Ouyang Xu cried out before he shot toward Duan Ling Tian like a sword.

At the same time, sword rays rained down on Duan Ling Tian. They had all been boosted with profundities, including Fused Profundities, from the law of metal.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The sword rays swept out like a huge wave as the sharp sounds of sword cries rang in the air.
