I Seek Immortality Through Serendipity

”Clang!”

”Clang!”

As Gu Yuan was pondering, two crisp sounds suddenly rang out in the main hall.

Gu Yuan looked down and saw that the Golden Core Token at his waist was trembling slightly, emitting strands of golden light.

The Golden Core Token had been bestowed upon Gu Yuan by Master Tiandou on behalf of Master Yunyang after he achieved the Golden Core, with a golden base and silver emblem, impervious to water and fire, and only Gu Yuan could use it. It contained the top-level authority of the Daoist School.

In addition, this token also had the ability for audio communication. At this moment, the token’s trembling and the crisp golden sound were signals for summoning a Golden Core conference.

The token at Master Xuan Guang’s waist was also trembling incessantly.

”The Eight Rivers Alliance has been growing increasingly aggressive over the past decade. It is time for the Daoist School to determine whether to make peace or to go to war.”

”This summons is to discuss this matter.”

”Junior Brother, to be honest, I fully advocate the eradication of demons and have long decided on a demon-slaying strategy, although some of our fellow brothers may not agree with my views.”

”As you know, within our Daoist School, all affairs are decided upon by the Dean. If the Dean decides, we naturally must follow orders.”

”However, if the Dean is unwilling to intervene, the matter will fall upon our Golden Core council.”

”In the Golden Core Realm, while there are differences in strength, we all have millennia-long lifespans and are of the same sect, so naturally, no single brother can make all decisions. Everything must be discussed collectively.”

”Whichever plan gains everyone’s support will naturally be the primary plan...”

Master Xuan Guang said this, turned his head to look at Gu Yuan, and respectfully saluted him.

”Senior Brother, you flatter me!”

Gu Yuan hurried to support him up virtually.

Simultaneously, he sighed in his heart. These Golden Core cultivators are not easily managed; they must have plotted this before approaching him for artifact refining.

No wonder they are so diligent.

But a favor is a favor. In the South Mountain Domain, trustworthy Golden Core Refiners are rare, and Gu Yuan would not refuse unless the request significantly went against his conscience.

With this thought, he asked softly, ”I wonder, Senior Brother, what exactly is the plan? Feel free to speak openly, so I won’t make any mistakes during the conference and disrupt your grand plan.”

Upon hearing this, Master Xuan Guang pondered briefly and then said, ”In that case, I won’t hide it from you, Junior Brother.”

”My goal is just two points: first, we must eradicate the Eight Rivers Alliance!”

”Second, we attack individual targets progressively, using the strategy of surrounding Wei to rescue Zhao, and head straight for the demon race’s lair to attack their core spiritual land.”

”As for the division of attack tasks, it can be further negotiated during the conference, but I must attack the Swaying Demoness clan!”

After speaking, Master Xuan Guang looked at Gu Yuan intensely.

”Swaying Demoness?”

”Could there be something precious on this Demon Spirit Island?”

Gu Yuan frowned slightly, feeling puzzled.

Among the Eight Rivers Demon Race, the Swaying Demoness is not particularly powerful, with only two Great Demons in the clan, and its spiritual land also ranks low among the Eight Rivers Demon Race.

Why does Master Xuan Guang want to attack this island?

”Although these demons are not strong, they are rare fire technique demon beasts among the Eight Rivers Demon Race. At the core of their Spirit Island, there is a Swaying Golden Lotus!”

”This fire is of a high grade, a genuine Tier Three Upper-class Spirit Flame, with strong attacking power, capable of burning divine thoughts!”

”The demon race’s heritage is shallow, and their mysterious techniques are not profound. Having this fire in their hands is like casting pearls before swine!”

Master Xuan Guang did not conceal, directly revealing his ultimate goal since he wasn’t the only one aware of the Swaying Golden Lotus.

All he sought was profit!

The aim is for that Tier Three Upper-class Spirit Flame!

”Are there other senior brothers in the Daoist School who also want to seize this fire?”

Gu Yuan raised an eyebrow and asked.

”Like me, the Su Family and Bian Family practice the Red Fire Vermilion Cloud Scripture.”

”However, Junior Brother Bian has only recently entered the Early Stage of the Golden Core; facing the Swaying Demon Race alone, he lacks strength. Therefore, it still depends on my and Junior Brother Su’s methods...”

Master Xuan Guang explained.

Gu Yuan suddenly realized.

It’s the Su Family again, no wonder Master Xuan Guang would come to him.

Indeed, even among the same sect’s Golden Cores, there is rivalry.

However, determining attribution during the council meeting is better than obstructing each other secretly.

Master Yunyang’s reluctance to intervene may also involve this consideration.

In case of conflict, they rely on their methods, him remaining behind the scenes to suppress individuals and maintain balance.

”As Senior Brother requests, I naturally accept the responsibility without hesitation!”

Gu Yuan cupped his hands and said slowly.

”Good!”

”I knew Junior Brother is a sensible person!”

”This endeavor is not just for myself. Nowadays, celestial tribulations are difficult; we must nurture our disciples with all our strength. The Dharma Pill Technique is a heaven-sent opportunity. We absolutely cannot let these demon races go!”

Master Xuan Guang was overjoyed, unable to resist speaking loudly.

Gu Yuan cupped his hands, yet felt somewhat helpless in his heart.

He was unsure if there were any theories of merit in this world. If there are, is this offering of pills boundless merit or an excess of slaughter?

...

...

After their discussion, they no longer lingered and jointly rode the Escape Light, flying towards Shaoyang Hall located on Cyan Peak Mountain.

Shaoyang Hall, a smaller and elegantly quiet side hall to the right of Zhengyang Hall, is where the Daoist School’s Golden Core council meets.

Upon arriving at this hall, Gu Yuan and Master Xuan Guang found six Golden Core cultivators already waiting there.

Sword Fox Immortal deliberately sat at the second to last meditation mat on the right, leaving the nearby cushion vacant.

Seeing this, Gu Yuan bowed to the Golden Cores, then stepped forward and sat beside Sword Fox Immortal.

Just as he sat down, Sword Fox Immortal looked over, staring at the golden ring on his finger with a look of concern.
