She Used Me for a Dare… Now I Own Her Mother

Chapter 362: Sophia(1)

The heavy, stagnant air of the Archives seemed to vibrate as Alex looked down at the girl who, only minutes ago, had been lecturing the room on perfection.

His smirk was sharp, a jagged blade of amusement cutting through the amber gloom.

”What happened, Jennifer?” he murmured, his voice a low, gravelly taunt. ”Where did all that fire go? I thought you were dying to prove your worth. To show these girls the difference between a Queen and a subordinate.”

Jennifer didn’t answer. She couldn’t. She was anchored to the floor on her knees, her manicured fingers digging into the rough, unfinished wood of the bottom shelf for support.

She was caught in a violent internal vice... torn between the electric thrill of his attention and the cold, paralyzing fear of what he was demanding.

She wanted him to break her right there, on the cold stone, but she knew her own limits. She knew she couldn’t take the full weight of him without shattering the silence of the library.

She tilted her head back, trying to catch his gaze with wide, pleading eyes... the puppy look she usually used to manipulate situations like this.

But Alex wasn’t looking at her face. He wasn’t interested in her performance anymore.

With a slow, proprietary movement, he gathered the silk of her skirt, bunching the expensive fabric upward until the chill of the archive air hit her bare skin.

Jennifer shivered, a sharp gasp catching in her throat as she felt his hand... rough, calloused, and undeniably masculine... begin to roam over her.

He wasn’t being gentle. He was marking his territory, his palm dragging across her flushed skin with a heavy, deliberate pressure that made her hips twitch instinctively.

”Or perhaps,” Alex whispered, the words barely a breath against the sensitive skin of her neck before his hand came down with a sudden, violent force.

CRACK.

The sound of his palm meeting her exposed skin echoed like a gunshot through the hollow, silent rows. Jennifer’s back arched instinctively, her fingers clawing at the mahogany shelf for a purchase she couldn’t find.

”Anhh!”

The moan ripped from her throat before she could catch it... a high, sharp sound of shocked pleasure that seemed to vibrate against the ancient spines of the books.

”We could take this out into the main hall.” Alex whispered, leaning down until his breath ghosted over the back of her neck, ”We could see how that ’regal’ voice of yours sounds when you’re being fucked in the middle of the stacks, with every student on campus as your audience.”

Jennifer’s breath came in ragged, uneven hitches, her lungs burning with the dry archive air.

The thought of it... the public ruin, the eyes of the elite watching her stripped of every ounce of her dignity... was a sickness and a drug all at once. She could feel the vibration of his threat deep in her marrow, a promise of a total annihilation she was suddenly, terrifyingly desperate to experience.

Jennifer felt the cold, hard edge of the law book against her brow, but it was the heat of Alex’s palm against her skin that grounded her.

She turned her head slightly, her gaze catching the eyes of the two girls still kneeling in the shadows.

They weren’t just watching anymore; they were judging.

She saw the flicker of doubt in their expressions, a silent, mocking realization that the ”Ice Queen” was faltering, that she couldn’t handle the very fire she had claimed to master.

”Master... please,” she whimpered, her forehead dropping against the cold edge of a law book.

”Please what, Jennifer?” he countered, his fingers tightening in her hair with a sharp, possessive yank that forced her chin upward.

He leaned down, his lips brushing the shell of her ear as his other hand hovered over her flushed, stinging skin.

”Are you going to cower now? After talking so big in front of your juniors? Or are you actually going to be a good example for them... and show these girls exactly how to obey?”

That shame... the idea of being seen as weak by the very livestock she despised... was the final needle that broke her.

The fear of public ruin was still there, a cold pulse in her veins, but it was being drowned out by a soaring, jagged arousal.

She didn’t want to fight the weight of him; she wanted to be crushed by it. She wanted to prove to Alex, to the girls, and to herself that she could endure anything he dismantled her with.

She let out a long, shuddering breath, her fingers finally relaxing their white-knuckled grip on the shelf. She went limp for a heartbeat, her body sagging in a gesture of total, unreserved surrender before she forced herself to look up at him.

Her eyes were no longer pleading; they were glassy, dark, and utterly vacant of pride.

”I’m yours, Master,” she whispered, her voice a raw, melodic thread that seemed to pull the very air from the row.

She leaned her cheek against his thigh, her gaze fixed on the shadow he cast against the books.

”Do whatever you want with me. Take me here on this floor, or drag me out into the hall for everyone to see... I won’t stop you. I can’t stop you. I’m just yours to use.”

A slow, lethal smile spread across Alex’s face. He could feel the change in her... the way her muscles had stopped bracing for a strike and started humming for his touch.

He turned his focus back to Jennifer, his hand moving from the curve of her hip to the nape of her neck.

He threaded his fingers through her hair, his thumb pressing firmly against her pulse... a heavy, frantic thrumming that betrayed her total arousal.

”Finally,” he growled, his voice dropping into a low, sovereign rumble that made her knees tremble against the cold stone.

”The Ice Queen finally melts. Now, let’s see if you can truly be the void you promised. Let’s see if you can handle the weight of being absolutely nothing but mine.”

Sophia shoved through the dense throng of students in the Main Hall, her shoulders tensed with a simmering, aristocratic fury.

The library was suffocatingly crowded, a sea of bent heads and rhythmic typing that felt like a personal insult to her mission.

”Where the fuck did this bitch go?” she hissed under her breath, her eyes darting like a hawk’s across the rows of study carrels.

Sophia had been trailing Jennifer, keeping a careful distance, but the paranoia of being spotted had finally tripped her up.

She had hung back a second too long near the entrance, afraid that Jennifer’s sharp, peripheral gaze would catch her following, and in that heartbeat of hesitation, the she had vanished into the dense sea of students.

Sophia’s frustration was a physical heat under her skin. She wasn’t used to losing, and she certainly wasn’t used to being outmaneuvered by a bitch who was clearly hiding a secret that smelled like Alex.

”Watch it!” a freshman squeaked as Sophia’s designer bag clipped his shoulder.

Sophia didn’t even look back.

”Move,” she snapped, her voice carrying a lethal edge that caused a dozen heads to snap up in startled silence. The sudden attention of the room... the judging whispers of the ’commoners’... only fueled her irritation.

She stopped near the tall, arched windows, her chest heaving as she checked her watch.

For a fleeting second, the thought of letting it go crossed her mind. ’Why chase a ghost? Why bother with Jennifer’s pathetic little games?’

But then, a cold shiver of intuition crawled up her spine.

Something was wrong. The air in the library felt off... charged with a tension that Jennifer’s calculated disappearance had only amplified. Jennifer didn’t just ’get lost’ in a crowd; she escaped.

Sophia stood near the tall, arched windows, her eyes narrowing as she mentally mapped the layout of the sprawling building. If Jennifer wasn’t in the Main Hall, and she hadn’t doubled back toward the exit, there was only one place left.

The Restricted Archives.

The thought sent a cold, electric thrill through her. That wing was a tomb of decaying paper and silence... a place where the campus elite never stepped foot unless they were hiding something.

”You can’t escape from me, Jennifer,” she whispered, her voice a sharp, jagged promise that barely rose above the hum of the room. ”Not this easily. I’ll find out exactly what you’re up to, and God help you when I do.”

’But why the hell would she go in there?’ Sophia questioned, her grip tightening on her bag. ’Nobody goes into the Restricted section. There’s no light, no Wi-Fi... it’s a dead zone.’

The realization hit her like a physical weight.

There was only one reason Jennifer would risk the dust and the dark. There was a secret buried in those deep, unlit stacks.

A slow, predatory smirk curled Sophia’s lips. ”Trying to hide, Jennifer? In a place where no one can hear you?”
