Chapter 1598: Chapter 1598: The Vote Decides—Who Will Prevail?

Finally, Nanfeng could only tremble all over and look at everyone, saying: ”Look, what kind of nonsense is Ba Lian saying?”

Although Venerable Ba Lian has enough strength to be a Heavenly Decision Maker, saying it so bluntly is obviously not good.

However, the three Heavenly Deciders and nine Earth Decision Makers did not want to say much for the time being; they did not wish to interfere in the dispute between Ba Lian and Nanfeng.

”Nanfeng, I’ve said many times, I am the Leader.”

Finally, Dongwu angrily stopped him, then deeply stared at Venerable Ba Lian, saying: ”Ba Lian, this matter is of great importance, but I still maintain the previous decision; Sikong Jing must handle Qianwang Holy Tower on his own...”

He decided to continue as usual without making changes.

Upon hearing this, Venerable Ba Lian’s eyebrows twitched, and she sneered coldly: ”Fine, if Qianwang Holy Tower comes, I’ll kill one if one comes, a pair if a pair comes. Worst comes to worst, I’ll drag a few Qianwang Holy Tower’s trash to die together.”

Her voice exploded madly within the entire Heavenly Decision Hall.

With Venerable Ba Lian’s current strength, she is qualified to say such words, and the consequences would naturally be quite terrifying. If she really did this, it would lead to Overlord Commerce having a great enmity with Qianwang Holy Tower...

”This is ridiculous.”

Therefore, Dongwu heavily rebuked: ”Overlord Commerce’s interests are supreme; how can you, as a Venerable, engage in such wanton behavior?”

Once again, she was given a hefty label...

But Venerable Ba Lian laughed icily, retorting: ”The heir of Overlord Soul is the heir of me; I must protect him. What is wrong with that? How is this considered wanton behavior?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire Heavenly Decision Hall fell silent; for a moment, everyone was silent.

Venerable Ba Lian coldly glanced at everyone...

”I was in Hanluan City at that time, and I saw with my own eyes how the Qianwang Holy Tower treated Ajing and the people of Yao Residence. Pei Yuzheng, without reason, wanted to kill them. Is it fair that my Overlord Soul couple’s heir deserves to be killed?”

”Sikong Jing counterattacks and it’s unforgivable, should he just be sent off to be slaughtered?”

The Earth Decision Makers, upon hearing this, looked at each other in dismay and collectively fell silent, not knowing what to say.

Because Qianwang Holy Tower is indeed terrifying, it’s necessary to admit weakness when necessary; what else can be done?

Dongwu also had a twitching face, finally softening his tone slightly...

”It’s true that it affects Overlord Commerce’s interests; we are business people and there’s no need to clash directly with Qianwang Holy Tower.”

”Sikong Jing had other methods at the time to handle it; there was no need to completely undermine Qianwang Holy Tower’s plans.”

He still insisted that Sikong Jing must be dealt with.

”Fine, in the future, I’ll just squat on Nanfeng’s head and shit, since I’m strong enough he should definitely not clash directly with me.” Venerable Ba Lian hit back hard: ”After all, we are businesspeople, valuing harmony above all.”

Nanfeng was infuriated to the point of smoke coming out of all seven orifices, thinking: damn it, you talk with Dongwu but why drag me into it?

As for Dongwu, his mouth twitched fiercely, saying heavily: ”This is indeed wanton behavior...”

”Not protecting your own people, but instead sending their heads to the killers, you have quite the cheek.” Venerable Ba Lian continued to counterattack.

Everyone looked at each other, maintaining silence.

The matter had somewhat entered a dead end primarily because Venerable Ba Lian was strong enough...

Qianwang Holy Tower was strong enough, so Dongwu wanted to admit weakness, but Venerable Ba Lian was also strong, making it truly difficult when the matter escalated.

Finally, Dongwu took a deep breath...

”Fine, I also understand your feelings of protecting your disciple, but I still insist on Overlord Commerce’s interest as the priority.”

”This matter will be decided by voting among us, the Heavenly and Earth Decision Makers.”

”Minority must obey the majority. If it’s unfavorable to you, you must not act wantonly anymore, otherwise, we have reason to suppress you.”

This proposal instantly made everyone look at each other, surprised that it would come down to a vote.

Dongwu had thought about this for a long time; he knew that once Ba Lian arrived, she would be difficult to deal with, so he had planned ahead to guide Ba Lian into saying things that would make people think she’s being wonton, causing her to lose support.

Then have all Heavenly and Earth Decision Makers vote to decide, so Venerable Ba Lian would have no reason to continue her demands.

After speaking, he looked at the three Heavenly Deciders and asked: ”Any objections, you three?”

Xi Tu and Beicang lightly shook their heads, and naturally Nanfeng had no way to object; unless the highest Heavenly Decision Maker was brought in, but even if he were present, it would probably come down to voting.

Seeing this, Dongwu did not give Ba Lian a chance to refute but instead directly began...

”Fine, then let’s begin.”

”According to the old rules, each Heavenly Decision Maker counts as two votes, each Earth Decision Maker counts as one vote. Now, those who think our Overlord Commerce should clash directly with Qianwang Holy Tower for Sikong Jing’s sake, please raise your hand.”

Following Dongwu’s words, Ba Lian’s side and Ba Lie’s side all looked at the four Heavenly Deciders and nine Earth Decision Makers.

In the next moment, Beicang unhesitatingly raised her hand; she believed Sikong Jing should be protected.

Afterwards, Xi Tu also raised his hand.

As for Dongwu and Nanfeng, naturally they wouldn’t raise their hands, meaning the Heavenly Deciders were tied.

Now it was up to the Earth Decision Makers, and everyone swiftly looked over...

Dongwu’s eyes carried a slight coldness; since he proposed the vote, he had confidence. He didn’t believe the Earth Decision Makers would ignore Overlord Commerce’s interests to clash directly with Qianwang Holy Tower for Sikong Jing.

Towards Sikong Jing, Dongwu naturally felt a lot of dissatisfaction and disliked him.

But unexpectedly...

The Earth Decision Makers, one, two, three, four... suddenly, four Earth Decision Makers raised their hands.

Dongwu’s expression turned sour immediately; he couldn’t understand if these Earth Decision Makers were crazy?

Nanfeng and Venerable Ba Lie’s expressions also grew stern, equally surprised that so many supported protecting Sikong Jing.

If one more raised a hand, Dongwu would have to obey the majority.

As everyone focused on the remaining five Earth Decision Makers, one hesitated for a moment but slowly raised his hand, and this scene nearly caused Gong Ying to break into curse and made Nanfeng tremble fiercely.

As for Dongwu, his expression turned extremely dark, crazily thinking: How could this happen?

On Sikong Jing’s side, Zhang Duiyin and others were already excited to the point of laughing; they hadn’t expected so much support.

And Venerable Ba Lian had already laughed: ”Dongwu, not everyone is as cowardly as you!”

Hearing this, Dongwu frantically scanned the Earth Decision Makers.

He just couldn’t understand why so many supported, knowing this meant clashing directly with Qianwang Holy Tower, knowing Ba Lian’s earlier words were overbearing, shouldn’t it cause them to dislike it?

Watching Dongwu’s frantically changing expression, Venerable Ba Lian stated again: ”Dongwu, now our votes are more, so you should let everyone discuss how to protect my Sikong Jing, right?”

As the words dropped, Dongwu’s face almost bled; just moments ago, his resolution for Sikong Jing was completely overturned.

Suddenly, Venerable Ba Lie, who hadn’t spoken all along, said: ”Xi Tu Heavenly Technique, remember my master?”

Upon these words, everyone froze and looked towards Venerable Ba Lie.

At the same time, Xi Tu’s eyes sparked with intense light; he owed Venerable Ba Lie’s master a favor.

Venerable Ba Lie said no more, just hinted, yet his eyes showed the glimmer of a victor.
