Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

The council meeting in the grand hall lasted until dusk, with all potential situations being addressed and solutions deliberated upon before everyone finally left the hall.

This time, Lin Feng didn’t host a banquet. With the impending war, arriving at the battlefield early would help in preparation. Nangong Ming and Qin Xiaojiao, among others, left overnight, leaving Lin Feng’s group as the sole opposition against the Sky-Covering Cliff.

Everything was being prepared intensely, and early the next morning, Lin Feng led his group away from the Cyan Frost Emperor Palace, leaving all the women behind, including the Jade Immortal Emperor.

After this departure, someone needed to stay back and oversee affairs at Cyan Frost Emperor Palace, and the Jade Immortal Emperor was undoubtedly the best choice. Lin Feng was very confident in her, and despite the tearful pleas from Fairy Lingxiao and others to join him on the battlefield, Lin Feng refused.

The armies from various cities quickly advanced to where the Immortal Beast was set to appear. Three days later, Lin Feng’s forces had amassed over two million soldiers, creating an impressive scene in the air.

This was Lin Feng’s first visit to the Sky-Covering Cliff, surrounded by endless sands with astral winds occasionally blowing, sweeping sand everywhere, creating a harsh environment.

The Sky-Covering Cliff is actually a small mound about a hundred meters high. Though surrounded by sand, it is lush and green on this mound, likely due to the presence of a barrier.

Lin Feng led everyone to the ground. Even with over two million people standing in the sandy area, they appeared sparse in this boundless place.

Specially trained squads were among them, but at this moment, they hovered in the air, awaiting Lin Feng’s final command, while Lin Feng, alongside several late-stage Immortal Emperor powerhouses, was inspecting the barrier entrance at the Sky-Covering Cliff.

The two million figures were divided into over two hundred small squads led by hundreds of commanders, scattered around, ready to fight at any moment. The reason for scattering was to avoid significant casualties if the Immortal Beast experts used powerful group attack Martial Skills.

By scattering, even if the opponent is strong, losses will be minimized. This strategy is built on accumulated battle experience. Each squad has a commander and dozens of squad leaders, managing the teams in an orderly manner without worry over management issues.

”Palace Master Chu, this war with the Immortal Beasts relies on you. We hope you truly achieve peace between the Immortal Beasts and the Immortal Realm, allowing us old folks to rest easy, and perhaps have a chance to ascend to the Divine Realm one day,” an elder said.

”I will do my best. Everyone need not worry; soldiers come, barriers resist, we attempt to minimize casualties as our greatest victory. Why is there no reaction at the barrier entrance even though it’s already broken?” Lin Feng remarked.

”It has been breached, but it will take some time before a large batch of Immortal Beast creatures appears. We should retreat several dozen miles and wait. The war with Immortal Beasts will occur both on the ground and in the air, so we must expand the battlefield to reduce losses,” another elder suggested.

”Let’s do as you suggested; everyone should retreat several dozen miles. Fighting in these sandy terrains is truly challenging; hopefully, our soldiers can endure it,” Lin Feng agreed.

The troops immediately withdrew several dozen miles, spreading further apart. Over two million soldiers now spanned several hundred miles in area so that even if an Immortal Beast expert uses a powerful Martial Skill, the harm would be minimized.

Everyone was impatiently awaiting the arrival of the Immortal Beast army, while Lin Feng quietly observed everything below from the back of the Golden Demon Vulture, with thirty trained individuals waiting behind him.

These thirty individuals would be deployed at the most critical moment to fully unleash their potential.

Meanwhile, the squads recruited by the Flame Immortal Monarch composed of Daluo Golden Immortal and Nine Heavens Profound Immortal teams were stationed at the forefront, ready as the main force to first confront the Immortal Beasts, intending to deliver a strong initial blow to the Immortal Beast army.

Of course, these forces are tasked with slaying formidable Immortal Beasts among them, while the lesser soldiers are left for other squads to handle. When it comes to Immortal Emperor realm experts, they naturally engage the most powerful figures within the Immortal Beast army, essentially dividing by levels to reduce losses to a minimum.

A day later, movement erupted at the Sky-Covering Cliff, with rumbling sounds accompanied by its abrupt disappearance, revealing a terrifying scene; a dense mass of millions of Immortal Beasts appeared, an exhilarating sight.

Lin Feng glanced at the Immortal Beasts, noticing that their ranks were also stratified. This Immortal Beast army likely numbered not just millions but close to tens of millions, with several million in the forefront having power below the Celestial Immortal Realm.

These Immortal Beasts were clearly cannon fodder, common types swiftly advancing as a loud horn sounded, launching towards the Immortal Realm forces.

Naturally, the weakest Immortal Beasts charged first, intending to deplete the Immortal Realm forces, which left Lin Feng quite frustrated. In an instant, these Immortal Beasts reached the battlefield, and the Immortal Realm soldiers were quick to meet them.

The sounds of drumming, roaring, and killing were deafening, with all Immortal Beasts fighting in their true forms, some as large as small mountains, others as tiny as mice, making for a laborious battle.

Nonetheless, those Immortal Beasts facing the special squads commanded by the Flame Immortal Monarch were utterly reduced to cannon fodder. Any Immortal Beast encountering them was annihilated, with a single Martial Skill sometimes killing dozens or even hundreds.

The battle was intensely fierce. Many Immortal Beasts even took to the skies, attempting to encircle and attack from above, considering their overwhelming numbers. Despite the Flame Immortal Monarch and others being able to slay thousands of Immortal Beasts each, the consumption of Immortal Spirit Power was unsustainable.

This tactic directly explained the deployment of cannon fodder by the Immortal Beast army, while Golden Immortal and Daluo Golden Immortal Immortal Beasts slowly approached the battlefield. Lin Feng, seeing their numbers reaching over a million, was somewhat unsettled, as it was multiples more than previously recorded.

Lin Feng noticed other powerful Immortals, each showing concern. ”Palace Master Chu, the forces of Immortal Beasts this time are several times what they were before. How do we handle this?”

”What’s happening elsewhere? Have the Immortal Beasts concentrated all their forces at the Sky-Covering Cliff to catch us off guard?” Lin Feng pondered aloud.

P.S.: Not in the best state; this battle is proving difficult to write!
