Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chu Linfeng and the others were instantly taken aback. Just arriving in the Netherworld, they encountered such trouble; luck was definitely not on their side. Unable to confront these people head-on, they could only watch as several guards approached them.

”Who exactly are you? Why are you here? Judging by your appearance, you should be of the Human Race. Did you come in from outside?” one of the guards asked.

Fortunately, Chu Linfeng and his friends could understand the guards’ language. If they couldn’t, it would be even more troublesome. At this moment, Chu Linfeng said, ”Brother Guard, we came from another city. We really don’t know the rules here, so could you be accommodating?”

”Accommodating? Kid, judging by your attire, you seem well-off, so how could you not understand the rules? There’s a city entry fee to pay, or do you expect us to personally demand it from you?” the guard replied.

”Understood, understood!” Chu Linfeng responded with a smile, then took out a top-grade Star Stone from his Storage Ring. He wasn’t sure if this Star Stone would suffice as the city entry fee, but he had to give it a try. If it didn’t work, he would think of another way.

The guard was momentarily stunned when he saw the Star Stone in Chu Linfeng’s hand. ”What is this? I’ve never seen such a thing before. Kid, are you trying to fool me with something worthless?”

”You must be joking, sir. This is a valuable item, containing powerful energy that can greatly enhance your abilities if you absorb it. Try it if you don’t believe me!” Chu Linfeng said, his tone very respectful, which did not sit well with Ouyang Hong and Young Master Feiyu.

Chu Linfeng, who was usually fearless, was now speaking obsequiously to someone, a sight that made them a bit uncomfortable. Although they knew the Netherworld was extremely dangerous, they didn’t need to degrade themselves in such a manner, so the two turned their faces aside.

At this time, another guard approached, who upon seeing the Star Stone, was similarly surprised and asked, ”Where did you get this Star Stone? It is a rare item in the Netherworld. You’d better tell the truth; I might let you off the hook.”

Chu Linfeng looked at him and smiled, ”This Star Stone was given to me by a friend. He is a top-level warrior of the Human Race, and these Star Stones no longer serve him. Do you know about Star Stones as well?”

Chu Linfeng was entirely making up a story. The Netherworld had been sealed for ten thousand years, a fact widely known, so even if he overthought it, he wouldn’t consider that his group had just broken in.

That guard closely examined Chu Linfeng and said, ”In light of us belonging to the same Human Race, we’ll let you go this time. But you need to hand over a few Star Stones as the city entry fee—one for each person, four in total.”

Chu Linfeng was surprised that this person was so easy to negotiate with, settling it with four top-grade Star Stones. However, he didn’t show happiness; instead, he had to act as if he was reluctantly parting with them.

”Brother Guard, I don’t have many Star Stones, perhaps I could give you two? You know how scarce they are now, so...” Chu Linfeng intentionally didn’t finish his sentence.

”Don’t bargain with me; anger me, and I’ll arrest you directly. Then, you’ll find out how powerful being under servitude is,” the Human guard said.

Reluctantly, Chu Linfeng handed over the Star Stones, saying, ”Fine, survival is paramount. Master, we could use your care in the future.” After saying that, he took out three more top-grade Star Stones.

The Human guard grabbed them instantly, saying, ”Once inside Lisha City, don’t wander mindlessly; find an inn owned by humans. It’s best to wear a face veil when going out. You won’t get lucky again. Now scram!”

Ouyang Hong almost wanted to hit the guy after hearing him. He couldn’t believe that they had to endure the annoyance of a mere guard here, but Chu Linfeng’s fierce gaze stopped him from acting on impulse.

”Thank you, Master. We’ll pay our respects if we come upon good fortunes in the future!” Chu Linfeng said immediately.

”Kid, you’re sensible. Since you’re new here and don’t know the rules, there’s an inn called Yuelai Inn in Lisha City, run by a Human Race super warrior. You can stay there and might get some help,” the Human guard said.

Chu Linfeng nodded and entered the city with Young Master Feiyu and the other two. ”Chu Linfeng, you’re really pathetic to bow and scrape to a gate guard. What’s your plan?” Ouyang Hong couldn’t help but ask.

Lin Ruoxi and Young Master Feiyu also looked at Chu Linfeng, hoping for an explanation. ”Do you think I want this? We know nothing here; everything requires caution. Didn’t we attain our goal? If we had argued with those four guards, we might have alerted Lisha City’s experts.

”Although my strength is decent, the people here probably aren’t weak either, judging by the gate guards. The weakest would have Seventh Layer of Divine Martial Realm power. I don’t want us to be hunted down just after entering the Netherworld.”

”You have a point, but our inability to recognize the writing poses a major problem. Let’s quickly find Yuelai Inn, as none of us are wearing face veils, attracting too much attention from cunning minds,” Lin Ruoxi said.

”Since we’ve come here, we must exercise caution in everything and discuss matters before acting rashly. Once we understand the situation here, we’ll make sure that the grievances and humiliation we suffer now are returned tenfold. This isn’t the time. Do you really think I, Chu Linfeng, am a pushover that can be easily manipulated?” Chu Linfeng replied.

Then, the four swiftly headed forward. The architecture here in the Netherworld was similar to that of Canglan Ancient Land, or perhaps they resembled each other. The only difference was the absence of sunshine, stars, or moons, creating no distinction between day and night—only an eternally crimson sky. Chu Linfeng wondered if people here slept and, if so, how they distinguished the time.

Along the way, they saw many buildings with writing they didn’t recognize, and after some time, disappointment crept in because they couldn’t find Yuelai Inn.

”Lin Feng, do you think the guard might have been messing with us? We’ve been walking for a long time and haven’t found the so-called Yuelai Inn,” Lin Ruoxi said.

”This city is huge, comparable to the Imperial City of Celestial Dragon Empire, possibly even larger. We haven’t even covered half of the street; how could we have found it by now? Let’s keep moving!” Chu Linfeng urged.

Lin Ruoxi and the other two agreed with Chu Linfeng, and they continued walking. After a while, they indeed found several shops with writing they recognized, which lifted their spirits.

Chu Linfeng stopped in front of a general store, where a middle-aged man was quietly watching him. Chu Linfeng politely asked, ”Brother, can you tell me how to get to Yuelai Inn?” (Will continue later,)
