Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 1237: Chapter 665: Dragon Beast

Li Shiming found the location given by Doruson, and positioned a spot in the ocean; cultivators have their own methods.

Using the Eight Diagrams Positioning Method, cultivators can precisely locate a designated spot in the ocean.

Standing above the sea, he controlled Living Dead Zhao Qingfeng to observe ahead.

The Water Thunder Nascent Soul used ’Divine Eye Technique’ to see a very low Stone Island, which had no life present. At high tide, the island would be submerged by sea water.

This seemingly useless Stone Island, however, was home to some Dragon Beasts.

Dragon Beasts are a very special branch among spirit beasts. Dragon Beasts refer to spirit beasts with a certain low level of Dragon Clan bloodline.

When a Dragon Clan bloodline reaches a certain level, it is called a Jiao; if higher, it’s called a Dragon.

But this doesn’t mean that Dragon Beasts are weak. In fact, having a Dragon Clan bloodline gives Dragon Beasts a head start over ordinary spirit beasts.

The Dragon Beasts before him were a rare group of social Dragon Beasts, and Li Shiming couldn’t identify the specific species, which was understandable.

The variety of Dragon Beasts is so vast that it can’t be clearly defined and is related to the ancient dragons, who indulged in lust, allowing their bloodline to mix and produce many offspring with spirit beasts.

In the Cultivation World, rare breeds of Dragon Beasts occasionally surface, and even ancient records don’t have complete documentation.

Not to mention that Li Shiming had just arrived on the Central State Continent, unfamiliar with the spirit beasts here, let alone identifying the Dragon Beasts.

There were over ten Dragon Beasts on Stone Island, each at the Fourth Grade Lower Stage.

According to Doruson’s intelligence, the number of Dragon Beasts here should be nearly a hundred, meaning nearly a hundred fourth-grade Dragon Beasts, with their leader likely having Mid Fourth Grade power, or possibly even stronger Dragon Beasts.

The actual sight of the Dragon Beasts had Li Shiming holding back his urge to act recklessly.

Without fully understanding the real situation of the Dragon Beast group, he would not act rashly.

This wasn’t cowardice but the basic caution of a cultivator. Without caution and care, a cultivator is not far from falling.

Living Dead Zhao Qingfeng’s position was fifty miles from the Stone Island, a distance he deemed safe.

Li Shiming came up with a simple method to explore the Dragon Beast group: to wait and observe patiently from here.

While waiting, suddenly a figure appeared behind him, and a large mouth with sharp teeth bit into his body.

Indeed, he was startled; the suddenness of the attack took him by surprise, without any advance warning.

The contact of sharp teeth with his body made a crunching sound.

The robe of Living Dead Zhao Qingfeng, at the high stage of fourth grade, was bitten through with holes, but the teeth stopped at his skin.

His arm twisted in a bizarre manner and grabbed the throat of the spirit beast biting him, forcing it to release and lose the ability to move.

It was then he saw the spirit beast in his hand, one of the Dragon Beasts from fifty miles away, which somehow approached and successfully ambushed him.

Although this Dragon Beast couldn’t harm him, if not for Living Dead Zhao Qingfeng’s flesh being at the Great Cultivator Level, even one bite might have caused serious injuries.

He was about to tighten his grasp and crush the Dragon Beast to death but stopped abruptly.

He needed to explore the Dragon Beast group; this captured beast could be the perfect scout.

As for controlling the Dragon Beast, his method was rather brutal: using the ’Human Dao Reincarnation Technique’ to torture the Dragon Beast’s soul repeatedly, weakening it to implant a Soul Control Secret Technique, temporarily turning the Dragon Beast into his Spiritual Pet.

This was a Secret Technique of the Ten Thousand Beast Sect to forcibly control a spirit beast, but it doesn’t equate to a true Spiritual Pet.

The spirit beast under such a Secret Technique can only be controlled for two hours; after which, the spirit beast becomes uncontrollable and goes insane.

As a cultivator from the Ten Thousand Beast Sect, he had learned many secret methods for dealing with spirit beasts; this was one of them.

Li Shiming sensed the Dragon Beast’s soul, but sadly, since it wasn’t a true Spiritual Pet, he could only give it a relatively simple command, requiring the Dragon Beast to act on its own subsequently.

The command he gave the Dragon Beast was to return to its nest.

After receiving the command, the Dragon Beast turned and headed towards Stone Island.

The Dragon Beast’s method of movement was quite unique; when in contact with the sea, its aura merged completely, making its presence untraceable.

No wonder Li Shiming was caught off guard and successfully ambushed; the Dragon Beast’s ocean abilities were too strange.

Considering how Doruson managed to escape from such Dragon Beasts, he must possess some special escape methods.

Of course, he didn’t consider this Dragon Beast’s ability too significant; it was still not quite on par with the Invisibility ability of the Illusion Spirit Dragon.

The Illusion Spirit Dragon could achieve invisibility anywhere, whereas this Dragon Beast could only conceal its aura in sea water; the Illusion Spirit Dragon’s Invisibility ability was still superior.

Li Shiming activated a Secret Technique, and before his eyes appeared the vision of the controlled Dragon Beast.

The Dragon Beast arrived at the Stone Island, among the dozen resting Dragon Beasts, which paid it no attention. It went behind a large rock on the island, where there was a hidden entrance.

This entrance was obscured by the large rock, making it unobservable from a distance.

The Dragon Beast entered the cave, where some form of luminous gems on the cave walls prevented the space from being dark.
