Chapter 827: Chapter 460: Heavenly Inquiry

Ancestor Luo Wei stood at the prow of the Flying Boat and saw Elder Jin Kai’s actions, as the spy planted within the Skywalk Trading Company was pulled out.

However, he did not intervene to protect that spy. The strength between the Heavenly Inquiry Sect and the Skywalk Trading Company is nearly equal, and he understands well that this is something Elder Jin Kai is doing to provoke him into action.

If the spy were a disciple nurtured by the Heavenly Inquiry Sect, he would indeed have to protect them, but they were merely paid off with some cost here and there. For such a spy, it’s not worth tearing face with Elder Jin Kai now.

The purpose of his visit this time is for much more important matters.

The spy does not hold a high position and merely reported back that Beishu Continent and Skywalk Trading Company are supposedly cooperating concerning the matter of the Grotto Heaven, but the specific nature is unknown.

Yet from one piece of information sent by the spy, Ancestor Luo Wei believed the spy’s intel.

The intel stated that Ancestor Ren Xun and another Nascent Soul Ancestor from Beishu Continent were severely injured, and this fact cannot be concealed.

Especially Ancestor Ren Xun, as all matters of Yongle Island were previously handled by him, but since the news of his injury, he hasn’t shown up again.

Ancestor Luo Wei was quite curious, as Beishu Continent has never produced a Mahayana Realm master, so how could a Grotto Heaven emerge?

Yet the allure of the Grotto Heaven is truly too great, as he hurried over with Ancestor Han Xiao who is at the Nascent Soul Early Stage to investigate the situation.

It’s not that the Heavenly Inquiry Sect doesn’t want to send more Nascent Soul Cultivators, but rather that the larger the domain, the more Nascent Soul Ancestors are needed for guardianship.

The Heavenly Inquiry Sect doesn’t lack opponents either, and if they dared to relocate too many Nascent Soul Ancestors at once, some forces would seize the opportunity.

The areas guarded by Nascent Soul Ancestors are without exception the fundamental weak points of the Heavenly Inquiry Sect, and cannot be neglected.

”Han Xiao, you stay here, I’ll go meet that old fellow Jin Kai!” Ancestor Luo Wei instructed briefly with a turn of his head, and then left the Flying Boat, flying forward.

Ancestor Han Xiao stopped the Flying Boat. This time, the Heavenly Inquiry Sect also brought manpower, all of whom are cultivators specializing in reconnaissance within the sect.

These professionals may not seem formidable in terms of combat strength, but they play an extremely important role in investigation.

As Ancestor Luo Wei flew, the wind on the sea seemed to obey his command, lifting him up and forming a whirlwind around him.

Elder Jin Kai stood amidst the void while Ancestor Ren Xun backed a bit. This was a meeting between two Nascent Soul Middle Stage Practitioners, and Ancestor Ren Xun didn’t have the qualification to sit at an equal level.

”Mr. Luo, the nose of the Heavenly Inquiry Sect is truly keen, as you sniff out anything that happens!” Elder Jin Kai said indifferently.

”Mr. Jin, what are you saying? I merely need a kind of Spiritual Medicine that is only produced on Beishu Continent, so I came over. Didn’t expect to see Mr. Jin here, truly a coincidence!” Ancestor Luo Wei replied with a smile.

”What Spiritual Medicine are you looking for? Skywalk Trading Company has some friends on Beishu Continent!” Elder Jin Kai replied knowingly, aware that he was lying.

”How could I trouble you? I’ll find the Spiritual Medicine I need myself!” Ancestor Luo Wei still smiled as he answered.

While talking, their spirits clashed incessantly. Although neither actually struck, this probing caused energy waves to spread outward from where they were.

Ancestor Ren Xun and Ancestor Han Xiao simultaneously acted to intercept the waves spreading toward them.

”Hmm!” Ancestor Luo Wei noticed Ancestor Ren Xun, and felt a slight surprise in his heart.

Based on intel, Ancestor Ren Xun was severely injured, but judging from his aura and how he acted, Ancestor Ren Xun’s injuries appeared to be only minor. If not for provoking him into action, he couldn’t have seen signs of injury on Ancestor Ren Xun at all.

Upon the instant clash of aura with Elder Jin Kai, he realized that Elder Jin Kai’s strength had significantly improved over the years, being on par with his own.

Without definite news regarding the Grotto Heaven, he didn’t want to rush into a battle with Elder Jin Kai.

”Mr. Jin, both of us are guests here, I hope we can act without interfering with each other!” He said in a deep voice.

”Definitely, we are all guests here. Whether you are a troublemaking guest, we shall see how the host feels about it!” Elder Jin Kai nodded with a smile.

He was actually the least inclined to fight. Although his injuries had been suppressed, if he were to engage in a true battle with his peer Ancestor Luo Wei, he wouldn’t be able to suppress the injuries.

If Ancestor Luo Wei discovered any clues, his only outcome might be a hasty retreat.

”Interesting indeed, Beishu Continent somehow has the inheritance of Buddhist Divine Power!” Ancestor Luo Wei remarked, shifting his gaze to the distance.

He had sensed the aura of six Nascent Soul Ancestors from Beishu Continent rushing over using ’A Step from Heaven’, hence he said so.

Although Buddhist Divine Power mainly serves an auxiliary role, they are nonetheless extraordinary. Nascent Soul Ancestors possessing Divine Skills are always troublesome existences.

At least Ancestor Luo Wei and Elder Jin Kai as Nascent Soul Middle Stage Ancestors don’t possess Divine Skills. In the Cultivation World, there’s a peculiar phenomenon: the earlier a cultivator masters Divine Skills, the harder it is for them to advance in the Nascent Soul Stage.

This likely relates to the difficulty in enhancing Divine Skills. It’s easier to elevate the Cultivation Technique to Nascent Soul Middle Stage than to advance Divine Skills to Nascent Soul Middle Stage.

Elder Jin Kai grinned slightly, choosing not to explain anything to Ancestor Luo Wei. As long as he was here for the Grotto Heaven, Ancestor Luo Wei was considered a rival.
