Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 562: Chapter 327 Heavenly Ghost_2

Yet its combat instinct was extremely powerful. A Third Grade Fierce Ghost grew by constantly devouring its own kind, and fighting was almost its only form of interaction with anyone besides its master.

Li Shiming did not have to worry about the Third Grade Fierce Ghost rebelling against him. He allocated a part of his brain to constantly monitor the ghost, and he would immediately employ the “No Thought Earth Willow Netherworld Scripture” to discipline the ghost if there were any unusual movements.

He reached out and grabbed the Ghost Banner Treasure. Without the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, the Ghost Banner Treasure was of no use.

However, the connection between the Ghost Banner Treasure and the Third Grade Fierce Ghost still existed. The Heart Sword flew out from the Space Ring. Without the need for the enhancement of Sword Intent, the High-Grade Magical Treasure, Heart Sword, easily sliced the Ghost Banner Treasure into pieces.

With the Ghost Banner Treasure destroyed, the only thing that could now bind the Third Grade Fierce Ghost was Li Shiming, who used the “No Thought Earth Willow Netherworld Scripture.”

Probably only a rich Alchemy Master like him would be willing to take such a drastic step, for even though the treasure was not of the highest grade, it was still a magical treasure, coveted by many impoverished Golden Core cultivators.

The Golden Core cultivators from large sects were in a slightly better situation. No matter how poor they were personally, the sect would always provide them with an entry-level magical treasure, so that Golden Core cultivators would not have to engage in battle using only Foundation Establishment Spiritual Artifacts.

But among Independent Practitioners, those who were extremely lucky and managed to break through to the Golden Core Realm with just a little resource, many Independent Practitioner Golden Cores, for decades after becoming Golden Core cultivators, had no magical treasures to use.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost, upon sensing the loss of connection with the Ghost Banner Treasure, began to harbor thoughts of freedom in its limited wisdom.

But just as this thought arose, Li Shiming, who had set aside a part of his brain especially for the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, perceived the ghost’s thoughts through the secret technique of the “No Thought Earth Willow Netherworld Scripture.”

A sensation of piercing pain throughout its body immediately followed, teaching it what it should and should not think.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost became obedient once more, dancing around Li Shiming, and no one would have guessed that it was a Third Grade Fierce Ghost with a power comparable to a Golden Core.

“Quite obedient,” said Li Shiming with a smile.

He reached out and gently patted the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, which, wanting to make the pat feel more substantial, deliberately made its body solid.

Otherwise, his hand would pass right through the Third Grade Fierce Ghost without feeling as if he had touched a solid body.

The moment his hand patted the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, it vanished from inside the Meteor Ink Boat.

Without any understanding of how it happened, the Third Grade Fierce Ghost found itself in a room filled with its master’s presence, which saved it from descending into madness.

Suddenly, the Third Grade Fierce Ghost noticed something it wanted to touch. But how could Li Shiming let it move around in the Mechanism Room Space? He had already restricted the ghost’s body the moment he placed it into the Mechanism Room Space, making it utterly immobile.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost sent a message to Li Shiming, begging him to let it touch an item over there.

Li Shiming was slightly startled. He discovered that the object attracting the Third Grade Fierce Ghost was the empty shell of a Heavenly Demon.

He had assumed that what would attract the Third Grade Fierce Ghost the most was the Fake Infant Body, as the saying goes that ghosts and spirits are most fond of powerful beings and seek to attach themselves to powerful bodies.

The state of the Heavenly Demon shell was somewhat strange; it could be seen, but it was in a state where it could not be touched by Divine Thought, magical treasures, or physically. Although the principle behind such a state was inexplicable, it indeed existed within the Mechanism Room Space.

Even if Li Shiming wanted to move the Heavenly Demon shell, he could only do so by using the Mechanism Room Space’s mechanism for retrieving and releasing items; otherwise, he had no influence over the shell.

The Heavenly Demon shell was sealed by him with the power of thunder and lightning. After some time, there were no changes to the shell.

After some thought, Li Shiming withdrew the thunder and lightning sealing the Heavenly Demon shell and sent the Third Grade Fierce Ghost next to it.

As the Third Grade Fierce Ghost got closer to the Heavenly Demon shell, its emotions became increasingly agitated and excited.

Li Shiming was not worried about any accidents, as the Third Grade Fierce Ghost was under his control. He lifted the restriction on the Third Grade Fierce Ghost.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost let out a cheer and pounced on the Heavenly Demon shell.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost and the Heavenly Demon shell were both incorporeal, creating a rather eerie sight.

The Third Grade Fierce Ghost, upon contacting the outer shell of the Heavenly Demon, easily passed through and entered its interior.

What Li Shiming saw next surprised him; the Heavenly Demon’s shell began to move.

Previously, no matter how many methods he had used, he could not make the Heavenly Demon’s shell budge even slightly, yet now, right before his eyes, a Third Grade Fierce Ghost had set it in motion.

Through his connection with the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, he discovered that it was forming some kind of link with the Heavenly Demon’s shell, which was becoming part of the ghost.

During this process, the connection between the Third Grade Fierce Ghost and Li Shiming hadn’t changed at all, and it still remained under Li Shiming’s control.

The fusion process took up most of two hours, and what eventually appeared in the engine room space was a phantom being with the appearance of a Heavenly Demon.

It could no longer be called a Fierce Ghost; this was a fusion of a Fierce Ghost and a Heavenly Demon. However, while the Heavenly Demon could not be controlled, the Fierce Ghost could, and this fusion creature still recognized Li Shiming as its master.

“I’ll call you Heavenly Ghost!” Li Shiming came up with a new name for this merged monster.

The strength of the Heavenly Ghost remained at the Third Grade, and its attack methods were unchanged, able to release ghostly fog to affect enemies, emit ghost howls to attack the enemy’s spirit, or enter the enemy’s body to launch an attack on the soul.

But what had changed was that the Heavenly Ghost now possessed great defensive power; first of all, the energy within the Heavenly Ghost no longer dissipated, and the Heavenly Demon’s shell served as a protective magical treasure, creating an internal environment that freed the Heavenly Ghost from the influence of the Heaven and Earth Rules.

In fact, the Heavenly Ghost could freely switch between solid and ethereal forms; when solid, it was like an ordinary Third Grade Fierce Ghost, and when ethereal, it was like the previous state of the Heavenly Demon’s shell—undetectable to Divine Thought and impervious to attack.

Unfortunately, the Heavenly Ghost did not inherit the Heavenly Demon’s most powerful attack. Its howl, when compared to that of a true Heavenly Demon, was still one level lower.

However, the Heavenly Ghost was already very strong. Its weaknesses were compensated for by the Heavenly Demon’s shell; it was no longer as fragile as a Third Grade Fierce Ghost.

The frailty of a Third Grade Fierce Ghost was highlighted by the fact that when cultivators lacked the means to counter it, they had no defense against its attacks.

But when cultivators possessed methods to counter Ghosts, the inherent weakness of a Third Grade Fierce Ghost’s defenses became apparent, as it could be dispersed at any moment, and each dispersal weakened its essence.

Especially when facing an opponent like Li Shiming, it was almost certain death.

After all, Li Shiming was a Thunder Cultivator, and the power of thunder and lightning was the bane of Third Grade Fierce Ghosts. A single Heavenly Thunder strike could utterly obliterate a Fierce Ghost without giving it a chance to recover and resurrect.

Of course, the Heavenly Ghost still feared Heavenly Thunder, but its resistance to it had improved considerably; it was no longer the case that a random strike could annihilate it.

The transformation of the Third Grade Fierce Ghost into the Heavenly Ghost was not what Li Shiming had originally intended.

While he wanted the Third Grade Fierce Ghost, he was prepared to try to activate the Fake Infant Body.

He issued an order to the Heavenly Ghost to try and approach the Fake Infant Body.

Before, he had surmised that maybe the Third Grade Fierce Ghost would be repelled by the Fake Infant Body and would not dare to approach it further.

For the Third Grade Fierce Ghost to be able to enter the Fake Infant Body, resources had to be used to cultivate it stronger, so it could withstand the might of the Fake Infant Body.

Heavenly Ghost followed his orders and gradually moved towards the Fake Infant Body.

The Fake Infant Body was in a living dead state, with the False Infant not having returned; it didn’t need to eat, as the Fake Infant Body itself could maintain its survival by constantly absorbing Spiritual Energy from Heaven and Earth.

Actually, even without the Fake Infant Body, Li Shiming’s current state in the Golden Core Realm alone would allow him to sustain life merely by absorbing Spiritual Energy.

Nevertheless, he did not wish it so; food was part of what made him feel alive, and without it, he wouldn’t even know if he was truly living.

The Heavenly Ghost made contact with the Fake Infant Body without being affected by its might.
