Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 521: Chapter 307 Elder

Li Yuanba, He Wei, and Liu Gang had completed the handover of their duties on Northern Island, and the three Golden Core cultivators who came to replace them looked extremely troubled.

Whoever knew that a originally safe and easy task actually involved the danger of facing a Nascent Soul Ancestor would have the same expression as those three newcomers.

On the contrary, Li Yuanba and his two comrades, having experienced the danger, were in a rather good mood.

The danger had passed and the task was handed over, all they needed to do was return to the sect.

Moreover, since they had successfully guarded Northern Island, the rewards for this mission would be significantly increased.

It’s known that if Northern Island had been destroyed, rebuilding it would not be a simple task, requiring a tremendous amount of resources.

Li Yuanba, He Wei, and Liu Gang left Northern Island together, their shared life-and-death experience had fostered some friendship between them.

Of course, He Wei and Liu Gang were somewhat deliberate in befriending Li Yuanba, given his strong combat capabilities and even stronger background.

In the Demon Sect Senluo Sect, having a good relationship with Li Yuanba, who had a strong background, was extremely important for the two Golden Core cultivators.

So on the way back, He Wei and Liu Gang shared the sect news they knew with Li Yuanba, and the three of them had quite a pleasant talk.

Upon returning to the sect, Li Yuanba noticed a change in the attitude of the sect cultivators.

Every Golden Core cultivator he met would express goodwill toward him.

Naturally, he knew the reason—Ancestor Lu was not in seclusion but guarding the sect entrance.

With the strength of Ancestor Lu, perhaps even a slight malevolent thought from a Golden Core cultivator toward Li Yuanba could be perceived by Ancestor Lu.

Therefore, regardless of their true feelings, the sect’s Golden Core cultivators had altered their attitude toward Li Yuanba.

As soon as Li Yuanba returned to the sect, Elder Situ sent a message asking him to come over.

Standing on the small island in the center of the lake in that special room of Palace of Darkness, Li Yuanba met Elder Situ.

“I’ve reviewed the report of the mission at Guardian Island. You played a significant role in this task. The sect will not treat a meritorious cultivator unfairly; you’ve passed the evaluation period directly and become a Sect Elder!” Elder Situ said with a smile.

This time, the battle between the Fourth-grade Sea Beast and the Nascent Soul Ancestor destroyed two guardian islands in that sea area, leaving only Northern Island intact.

Although it was due in part to Ancestor Lu’s timely arrival, more importantly, it was Li Yuanba who controlled the Formation and shielded Northern Island from the impacts of several battles under the hands of the Nascent Soul Ancestor.

The mission report was a synthesis from Li Yuanba, He Wei, and Liu Gang, along with the cultivators of Northern Island, plus the battle records of the Formation.

The Senluo Sect had a complete set of rules for mission rewards. Li Yuanba’s contributions were substantial this time, and he received an increased reward.

Li Yuanba was somewhat surprised; he had become a Sect Elder after just one mission.

Sect Elders are considered part of the upper echelon of the sect and can participate in sect affairs.

Of course, there are distinctions among Sect Elders depending on the affairs they handle. The real high-ranking members are the Golden Core Elders responsible for core sect matters.

Li Yuanba remained silent, waiting for Elder Situ to continue with the assignment.

“The sect has decided to send you to Jieshan City to guard it. You must manage your time wisely and ensure that sect affairs do not interfere with your cultivation. Cultivators must prioritize their cultivation, as power and benefits are built on the foundation of strength!” Elder Situ said while gesturing.

Guarding Jieshan City is a task with many external duties, not just a normal guarding duty but a long-term one.

Li Yuanba’s past represents the sect’s management of Jieshan City, where a massive amount of resources are circulated daily, and his position doesn’t even require him to actively request them, as he will have the resources allocated to him.

Such a favorable task naturally attracted many Golden Core Elders.

However, recently, Li Yuanba’s master, Ancestor Lu, was guarding the sect, and Li Yuanba had demonstrated outstanding Formation controlling capabilities at Northern Island.

Formation controlling capabilities are crucial for protecting an important city; thus, the sect’s upper echelon assigned this task to Li Yuanba.

“The corresponding authority has been granted to you. You can use the Identity Jade Disc to control the great Formation of Jieshan City. When necessary, you need to participate in protecting Jieshan Mountain Pass. Jieshan City and Jieshan Mountain Pass protect each other!” Elder Situ stopped his motions and seriously instructed.

Under normal circumstances, Jieshan Mountain Pass is guarded by three Golden Core Elders, plus one from Jieshan City, making four Golden Core Elders stationed near Jieshan Mountain Pass.

Whether Jieshan Mountain Pass conceals any additional combat forces is a sect secret, but he believed such an important place definitely wasn’t guarded solely by three Golden Core Elders.

So despite Jieshan City being a junction with Righteous Path forces, its security is even safer compared to other guarding points.

“I will follow the sect’s arrangements, thank you, Great Elder!” Li Yuanba said with a bow and a smile.

“Your very first task nearly went awry; I arranged the task on Northern Island myself. I will personally provide you with some compensation, whether it be resources or cultivation techniques. Feel free to ask, don’t be shy!” Elder Situ waved his hand as he virtually helped Li Yuanba up.

Elder Situ indeed intended this as compensation, considering he almost caused the death of Ancestor Lu’s grand-disciple, and while his fault was minor, he did not want Ancestor Lu to bear a grudge.
