Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 91: Chapter 81: Sending Off Cassel

When passing by the bay of Mr. Bex, the turtle, Hill ordered Srei to make a detour.

The bay was calm, and some larger fish even appeared. It seems Mr. Turtle, Bex, had left.

Hill firmly remembered this lesson. Next time, when the waters are calm and not even big fish show up, it’s best to avoid waiting around.

The ship quickly passed the border of Haifasardo, and Hill rapidly ascended.

Those players who were building ships were no longer by the shore; they had either given up or perished in the mouths of fishes.

Spencer’s city was already in sight from the window where Hill stood.

He had Srei fly not too high, as Spencer and Adrian were already waiting for him on top of the city wall.

Hill noticed that a mage stood beside them, which meant, since he was with Adrian, he must also be a magister.

Was he sent by William?

Could it be that he had really been spied upon again!

The airship gently landed beside the city wall, and the three men jumped aboard.

”Hill, you know Spencer. This is Magister Liveral Hensley,” Adrian began, ”a disciple of His Highness Miller.”

Hill looked into Adrian’s eyes. Was this the heir to the legendary mage?

”Good day, Mr. Hensley, Knight Spencer,” Hill nodded lightly in greeting.

”Good day, Mr. Polanio,”

Spencer glanced at Hill and took a step back.

Hensley naturally said, ”Where is Ms. Cassel? If possible, I’d prefer to take her with me directly.”

Hill pointed toward the deck’s hall: ”Please go straight in, I have never opened the door. The Tower Spirit said they are doing fine.”

Hill watched the mage closely as that silver ship docked next to his own; he glanced at Adrian with some doubt.

This lady seems to have quite a big secret hidden! Is William taking it so seriously?

Adrian shook his head slightly, indicating that there was nothing to worry about.

Srei appeared and opened the door to the hall, inviting Hensley to enter on his own.

A few minutes later, they quickly reached an agreement and came out together.

Cassel looked at Hill, who stood aside. Her eyes seemed ablaze with fire: ”Mr. Polanio, I don’t know why you left so suddenly? I’ve waited a long time.” Then, she softened her tone, ”Did I say something wrong?

If there’s any issue, you can tell me directly!

Don’t treat me so heartlessly.” The last word was spoken softly and gently, almost a whisper.

Adrian, Spencer, and Hensley all watched with amusement, and no one spoke up.

Hill glanced at the three men who reveled in the spectacle, and at Cassel’s attendant, who glared at him. After holding back, he finally said, ”I’ve received a proper education as a noble, Grandma Cassel.

An adult gentleman must maintain a certain distance from an unmarried woman.

It has nothing to do with age differences.”

Cassel’s face flushed red as she realized that Hill could communicate directly with Fran from outside, thinking Hill had known about her age from the beginning.

She was aware that Polanio was of noble birth, but hadn’t he gone to study magic at a very young age? How could he have also learned about the nobility of other countries?

If she had known this would happen, she wouldn’t have claimed to be the cousin of an earl.

After all, she was the only female in the Cassel Family who studied magic.

Hensley approached with a cheerful smile to ease the tension: ”Ms. Cassel, please come this way. We need to switch to another ship. This is on the orders of His Majesty the King, who made it available especially for your arrival.”

Cassel, with a strained look, led the way onto the opposite ship.

Spencer hurried over to guide the way.

Hensley smiled amiably at Hill: ”His Majesty the King asked me to express his gratitude to you.

It was a great help.

His Majesty the King said he had guessed what it was that was in Ms. Cassel’s hands.

King Cortez must not have told that Kronos what the thing was that was so important.

That’s why he didn’t dare to fight to the death with you.

By the time he sends the news back, it will be too late for King Cortez to dispatch another Legendary.

Ha ha!

Mr. Adrian told me you took the sea route back, which is really interesting.

Even if a Legendary came, they wouldn’t dare to go out to sea to find you.

Mages of the Summoning System really do have an advantage!”

Hill looked at the Legendary Mage’s grand disciple, who was polite and full of praise, and felt unmoved inside.

He knew that he was now in high demand.

Fran had progressed too quickly, and the ship he made for William was enough to shock the world with the Alchemist Master’s capabilities.

But the rest of the world was a bit behind and found it difficult to forge a connection.

Adrian was known to be a shrewd man.

Hill was the only breakthrough point.

But the fact that he had become a Magister had already been passed on to the Mage Association by Adrian.

Hill knew that when he went out, many people saw him as the grandson of Fran, so he was extremely cautious.

Hensley looked into Hill’s steady eyes and sighed inwardly.

What a pity that he had known Fran for so many years but hadn’t formed much of a bond with him.

Now Fran was probably the most valued person below the Legendary rank, but before, when he hadn’t become a Magister nor presented much in the way of new alchemy products, many thought that because of Melanie’s incident, Fran was completely ruined.

Even as an Alchemist Master, the one closest to a Magister, he was not quite there yet.

Especially after Melanie passed away, everyone felt that this blow would be enough to sever his path to becoming a Legendary, and there was no hope for him to become a Magister.

No one expected that Fran had long since become a Magister, simply staying behind closed doors.

Even Legendary Mages didn’t know when he had advanced in level.

It wasn’t until his grandson came of age and became independent that he came into the public eye, telling people he was already a Magister.

The Mages didn’t even know how to adjust their attitude toward Fran, and with the situation in Saral rapidly deteriorating, everyone paused to watch and as a result, not many had ties with him.

Many wanted to form a relationship with Fran, but it was hard to find a starting point.

Fran only had one disciple, and though his grandson wasn’t by his side, he was close by and was an independent lord.

Even the Mage Association couldn’t reach that far.

Everyone thought to wait until the chaos of these two years passed before trying to build a relationship with the young Polanio.

But to everyone’s surprise, not only had Fran’s student become a Magister early on, but his young grandson had also become a Magister.

What talents they must possess! No wonder Fran didn’t let Adrian take his grandson as his prime disciple.

Some even suspected Hill might be a Magician, but when he appeared at Haifasardo’s Mage Association a few days ago, his aura was very pure, without the presence of other races.

Hensley didn’t say anymore, only smiled and said his goodbyes, ”I have conveyed the words of His Majesty the King.

Mr. Polanio is young and promising, I hope to become friends in the future.

I need to take Ms. Cassel and hurry back to the Capital.”

Hill stood respectfully and watched him leave.
