I'm Afraid I Won't Be Able to Leave

Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Little Milk Dog and Little Wolf Dog

Once, when Todd Coleman went to submit some documents, Tiana Vaughn kept finding fault with them even though everything was correct. First, she claimed the formatting was wrong. Then, she nitpicked the font. She just wouldn’t point out all the supposed issues at once.

She made Todd Coleman take them back and revise them three or four times. For an engineering project, the documents were a thick stack, and Todd cursed her out the entire time he was making the changes.

But she was a completely different person with people in her own department. Every day, if she got to the office first, she would be sure to pour a glass of water for everyone.

As for the men in the President’s Office, she’d call them Sean, Chad... always this ”brother” or that ”brother.” Her voice was so saccharine sweet it gave anyone who heard it goosebumps.

And as for Asher Keating, that went without saying. Sheila Hughes only went up to the President’s Office occasionally to deliver documents or get a signature, but on those rare visits, she would always run into Tiana Vaughn giving Asher some homemade this or homemade that.

When the topic of the president’s private elevator came up, Sheila Hughes got even more worked up. She and Zion Sawyer had each caught Tiana Vaughn using that elevator once before. Tiana hadn’t been with the company for long back then, so when they saw her, they had kindly reminded her of the rule.

With Sheila Hughes, Tiana had been somewhat restrained, just rolling her eyes. But Sheila figured that was probably because Tiana knew she was Ethan Shaw’s girlfriend, since Ethan often came to the Keating building to pick Sheila up from work.

But with Zion Sawyer, Tiana had shot back, ”I’m one of Asher Keating’s people, so why can’t I use this elevator?” Zion was so furious at the time she almost called Leah Sinclair to complain.

It was because Zion Sawyer was livid and went back to vent to Sheila Hughes that the two of them connected the dots. After that, they noticed Tiana was always using that elevator. Even when the other elevators were empty, she would use the president’s private one without a shred of guilt.

As Sheila Hughes ranted while drinking, Leah Sinclair eventually couldn’t take it anymore. She raised a hand to stop her. ”Can we not talk about her anymore? Sheila, my chest feels so tight.”

”Leah, Third Master Keating is probably just a little concerned about her because he’s her sponsor, that’s all. You don’t have to be this upset.” Having vented, Sheila Hughes calmed down a bit and tried to explain on Asher Keating’s behalf.

”That’s not it, Sheila. I... I could hear it. The way Third Master spoke to her just now... it was different. Let’s not talk about it, okay? Just let me breathe. Let me think.”

Seeing Leah Sinclair looking so miserable, Sheila Hughes started to get angry again. Just then, male hosts started dancing on the stage up front. Sheila pulled her forward. ”Come on, let’s go! Forget it! The guys here are super hot. Let me show you what it’s all about.”

Leah Sinclair followed Sheila Hughes to the front and was met with a parade of handsome men with six-packs and eight-packs. They swayed their hips to the music, exuding pure testosterone. All Leah could see was a sea of gleaming abs.

Waves of screams rose from below the stage. Women kept trying to entice the handsome men on stage. For a tip, you could touch their abs or even have them feed you. Leah Sinclair even saw one person hand over a thick wad of cash, go on stage, and start a full-on French kiss.

She was a bit stunned. She grabbed Sheila Hughes and shouted in her ear, ”Do they have to be this extra?”

”Of course they do! Hurry up and pick one! See anyone you like? We can even have him come down and drink with us. How about that one? The puppy-dog type. This one’s not bad either, the wild wolf type! I like this one!”

Sheila Hughes’s eyes lit up as she stared at the male hosts on stage. ’I’d heard the men here were handsome, and it’s true! Every single one of them has the looks and the body.’

Leah Sinclair looked in the direction she was pointing. A sweet, boyish guy was sending flirty looks their way. When he saw her looking over, he shimmied over to them and held out a hand to Leah.

Confused, she reached out her hand. He took Leah Sinclair’s hand and kissed the back of it. ”Miss, can I join you for a drink?”

”...This one it is!”

Leah Sinclair shouted, dragging Sheila Hughes away. The alcohol was getting to her head. ’A white lotus, is she? This guy is plenty of a white lotus himself.’

Sheila Hughes picked the wolfish guy she had her eye on, and the four of them returned to their booth to drink. The puppy-dog guy sat next to Leah Sinclair, constantly calling her ”Miss, Miss,” which made Leah laugh uncontrollably.

Just then, Shawn Grant, who was at the club for a business dinner, happened to walk past their table. He glanced over and was about to walk on, but something seemed off, so he backed up. ”What are you two doing here???”

Both Leah Sinclair and Sheila Hughes were a bit drunk. Leah hadn’t eaten dinner and was in a bad mood, while Sheila had been losing round after round of dice against the wolfish guy and had to drink as a penalty.

”Miss, who is this person? He’s so mean.”

The puppy-dog guy looked at Shawn Grant’s murderous expression and shrank against Leah Sinclair, looking utterly pitiful.

”Don’t be scared. I’ll protect you!”

Leah Sinclair looked up. ”What are you being so fierce for? Don’t you know you’ll scare my little puppy?”

”Yeah, you’re so mean, mister. You scared me,” the puppy-dog guy whimpered, tugging on Leah Sinclair’s sleeve.

”...”

Shawn Grant stared at her, speechless, then glanced at Sheila Hughes, who was too busy to even acknowledge him. He snapped a photo and sent it to the group chat with Asher Keating and the others. ”You two giving up on your girlfriends??? @Asher @Ethan”

”Holy shit! Where did you find them? We’ve been looking everywhere for them like crazy!”

Ethan Shaw called him immediately. He and Asher Keating had already searched all the places he knew Sheila Hughes might go, but they hadn’t found them. Just as Asher was about to explode, Shawn Grant’s life-saving photo appeared.

”South Bank Stroll. Get here quick. Leah is about to be completely charmed by this green tea guy!”

”...What the hell is a ’green tea guy’?”

”You’ll know when you get here!!!”

After hearing this, Asher Keating pressed his lips together and sped up. Ethan Shaw, terrified, gripped the handle. ”Third Master, AHHHH!!!”

He’d only experienced this kind of speed once before, the time Leah Sinclair got drunk at Azure Bay. Ethan Shaw was screaming internally. ’It’s one thing for those two to fight, but why am I always the one who suffers?’

’I didn’t even do anything today, and my own girlfriend calls me a scumbag, fine. But then she runs off to find male models? Fuck, I’m gonna lose my mind too!!!’

The puppy-dog guy blinked his starry eyes at Leah Sinclair, his voice soft. ”Miss, would it be okay if I ordered a bottle?”

”Order it! What do you want to drink?”

”Is Macallan okay?”

”Of course! Go ahead!”

”You’re the best, Miss! I love you, Miss~ Mwah mwah, Miss!”

”...”

Listening to this, Shawn Grant felt like he was going to be sick. He finally couldn’t take it anymore and went to pull the puppy-dog guy away. ”Get away from her!”

”Ah! Miss~~ The mean mister is hurting me.”

”Shawn Grant! What are you doing? Don’t pull him! Does it hurt? Where did he grab you?” Leah Sinclair asked caringly, taking the puppy-dog guy’s hand.

”It hurts here~ Miss, can you blow on it for me? If you blow on it, it won’t hurt anymore.”

Shawn Grant stared at them, completely speechless. He reached out, poked Leah Sinclair’s head, and cursed, ”I fucking give up. What the hell is wrong with you?”

Leah Sinclair, a bit drunk, slapped Shawn Grant’s hand away and said sarcastically, ”Are only you men allowed to like innocent ’white lotuses,’ but we women aren’t allowed to like ’green tea guys’? Hey, Sheila, you know what? I finally get it. It really is a different feeling.”

”Right? I get it now too! Look at your little brother there, so pitiful. Big sister wants to protect you. Come here, little brother, let big sister blow on it for you.”
