Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 262 - 151: Departure, Encounter with a Strange Village!_2

Cao Xing ignored those guys and moved straight ahead.

Meanwhile, the militia rushed over, each holding their weapons, blocking Cao Xing and his group.

But they didn’t act immediately, seemingly aware that Cao Xing’s group was not to be trifled with.

The head militia said, “Gentlemen, this is Amu River Village, one of Baron Karl’s territories. You are not allowed to enter without permission.”

Cao Xing frowned and asked, “Baron’s territory? What’s going on with this human?”

The militia captain explained, “This is a madman from our village; when he was young, he saw the Snow Demon eat his mother’s heart with his own eyes.”

“Since that day, he started becoming mentally unstable, babbling all day, and even crazily attacking others.”

“Then he was locked up at home by his father with an iron chain, and today, for some reason, he escaped.”

“Sorry for scaring you guys.”

Cao Xing nodded slightly.

Although the militia captain’s story was vivid and sounded plausible.

But he wouldn’t just believe everything he heard.

If he was merely a village lunatic, why were they in such a hurry to kill him?

Cao Xing silently checked their attributes.

However, all he got were a bunch of question marks.

He couldn’t even find out their names or identities.

However, in Cao Xing’s perception, these militia didn’t give him an insurmountable feeling.

This indicated that their levels shouldn’t be much lower than his.

“So strange?”

Cao Xing’s eyes showed a hint of confusion.

At the same time, he silently opened his backpack and took a peek at the Hunter’s map.

However, he still couldn’t find the sun symbol near this village.

Cao Xing thought to himself, “Could these militia be telling the truth? Is this really not the Hunter’s camp, and that man is just a madman?”

But he still had some doubts.

So, Cao Xing quietly extended his hand and made a gesture to Sarah in the shadows.

Sarah understood his meaning and silently left the place.

She had already infiltrated into the village.

At this moment, Cao Xing also noticed some abnormalities in the village.

He saw that aside from these militia, there wasn’t a single villager in sight.

Cao Xing got straight to the point.

“I’d like to ask, where have all the villagers gone?”

Upon hearing this question, the other militia’s expressions changed slightly, but only the captain remained calm.

He unhurriedly explained, “Friend, as I told you before, this is one of Baron Karl’s territories. During the day, all the villagers of Amu River Village have to go to the nearby Beilei Mountain Mine to dig ore for the Baron.”

“By evening, the villagers should all return.”

Cao Xing nodded, this seemed like a reasonable explanation.

He switched to a different question and asked, “Gentlemen, I want to purchase some supplies in the village. Is it possible for us to enter?”

Of course, Cao Xing’s aim wasn’t necessarily to enter, mainly to buy time for Sarah. Once she came out, they would know the situation inside.

Hearing this, the militia captain displayed a troubled expression.

He shook his head and said, “I’m truly sorry, friends, but Amu River Village is just an ordinary village with no supplies for trading.”

“The villagers are very simple, and besides working for the Baron, they have no other activities.”

Cao Xing asked in confusion, “In such a big village, there’s no food or drinks?”

“We’re just conducting normal trade and will pay the appropriate crowns.”

Hearing this, the other party’s face showed even more difficulty.

And just then, everyone suddenly heard the sounds of a fight from inside the village.

Clang! Clang!

Clang clang!

Then came a series of exclamations.

“Damn! An assassin has infiltrated the village!”

“They seem to be in league with those outside, catch her!”

At this moment, the militia captain, who was talking with Cao Xing, showed a hint of coldness in his eyes.

“My friend, it seems your subordinates are a bit unruly, huh? Trespassing on the Baron’s territory is a serious crime!”

The other militia quickly dispersed, as if trying to surround Cao Xing and his group.

Even the archers on the watchtower aimed their arrows at them.

Seeing this, Cao Xing also smiled.

Because he had confirmed that something was wrong with this village.

Cao Xing slowly raised his right hand and then pressed it down directly.

Andrew, Assam, and the others understood his gesture and instantly launched attacks.

“Swish!”

A Frost Wolf Sword Energy swept through.

Andrew also instantly entered [Owl Beast Form] and then threw a Moonfire Skill.

Boom!

Suddenly attacked, damage numbers appeared above these militia’s heads.

[-1284!]

[-853]

[-791]

[-843]

[-974]

These militia were stunned, seemingly not expecting the other side to act proactively.

The next moment, the militia captain realized what was happening.

He shouted, “Damn! Capture them!”

“Archers, release arrows!”

At his command, the militia instantly raised their weapons and charged.

Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Several arrows flew toward them.

Cao Xing calmly led Liu Muxue, jumping off Da Bai’s back.

Then he looked over.

This time, Cao Xing finally saw their attributes.
