The City’s Strongest Son-in-law

Chapter 1098: Chapter 1097: Zhou Renjie’s Cunning Scheme

After all, Zhou Qifeng is a businessman who prioritizes interests, so naturally, he analyzes these matters thoroughly, striving to maximize profits.

Now Yang Kaitai wants to return to Beijing to reorganize the Beijing Martial Arts Association, and surely requires financial support. If they, the Zhou Family, offer help from behind, it is bound to be a sure thing.

As long as Yang Kaitai becomes the president of the Martial Arts Association, he will surely support them, and the Zhou Family will have his backing. With strong martial support, the Zhou Family’s development in Beijing would be like a fish in water. It’s undeniable that this is a good strategy.

”Ren Jie, your foresight is truly unique. If the Zhou Family has the support of the Martial Arts Association, we will indeed be hard to rival in Beijing; it would greatly aid our company’s future development, like adding wings to a tiger.” Zhou Qifeng said excitedly.

Zhou Renjie had imagined how his grandfather Zhou Qifeng would react when he told him about these matters. So he was not surprised to see his grandfather so excited.

After all, a veteran like Yang Kaitai could rapidly reshuffle the Beijing Martial Arts World, making the Zhou Family gain a powerful martial support.

”Ren Jie, let’s go meet Mr. Yang now. As the head of the Zhou Family, if I don’t meet him, it might cause him to be displeased. So let’s go right away.” Zhou Qifeng said enthusiastically.

Zhou Renjie calmly shook his head, holding back Zhou Qifeng and said: ”Grandfather, it’s not the right time yet. I mentioned you to Mr. Yang earlier, but he doesn’t want to meet anyone, probably waiting for things to stabilize. So please understand and don’t mind him.”

”I see, it’s true that someone like him is usually proud. Luckily, you stopped me in time.” Zhou Qifeng nodded slightly.

”Grandfather, that’s how it is. If there’s nothing else, I need to go to the hotel and personally inquire about Yang Kaitai’s plans for tomorrow to ensure our plan is foolproof.” Zhou Renjie said seriously.

”Okay, this matter concerns the Zhou Family’s development. Your thoroughness reassures me as your grandfather. Go ahead with it, and when you meet Yang Kaitai, greet him for me.”

”Okay, grandfather, I certainly won’t let you down.”

After coming out of Zhou Qifeng’s study, Zhou Renjie drove straight to the hotel where Yang Kaitai was staying.

In the hotel room, there was an elderly man dressed plainly, with graying hair but bright eyes. This person, dressed in rags, was once a prominent figure in Beijing.

After so many years, who could have expected his return?

If Zhou Renjie hadn’t met him several times before, he certainly wouldn’t have recognized the person before him as once the number one in the Beijing Martial Arts World. He would only think of him as just one of many ordinary elderly men.

”Tomorrow is the finals; you will present the champion’s award then. Aren’t you planning to attend?” Zhou Renjie said seriously to Yang Kaitai.

Despite Yang Kaitai’s slightly hunched back and whitening, thinning hair, his gaze remained sharp as if trying to see through people. Even Zhou Renjie, usually eloquent, spoke cautiously before Yang Kaitai and dared not meet his gaze directly.

”Heh, is there any point to the finals now? It’s all clowns on stage, performing tricks at best.” Yang Kaitai said dismissively.

”You’re right; without your leadership, the Beijing Martial Arts World has lost its direction, reduced to minor squabbles. But I firmly believe that if you return to the Martial Arts World, revitalizing it, things will surely change.” Zhou Renjie flattered.

”You’re quite a talker. By the way, I recently heard there’s a newcomer girl participating in the finals?” Yang Kaitai suddenly changed the subject and asked.

”I didn’t expect you to know, Mr. Yang. Indeed, there’s a girl competing for the championship, and I heard she’s quite talented, defeating many Great Master Level figures in Beijing.” Zhou Renjie replied.

”A bunch of cowards, being defeated by a woman, embarrassing the Martial Arts World. I have no idea how they maintain their positions, being nothing more than decorative figureheads.” Yang Kaitai slapped the table angrily.

These words clearly showed that Yang Kaitai inherently looked down on women, believing men should conquer the world while women should only manage household chores. Therefore, Yang Kaitai felt a woman had no right to win the Martial Arts World championship, not because she was exceptional, but because the current Beijing Martial Arts World was so weak they couldn’t even handle a girl.

”I only know a little about the situation of this girl. If you want specifics, you should observe at the arena.” Zhou Renjie said.

Zhou Renjie was naturally aware that the competitor was Su Changfeng’s disciple, but chose not to disclose it to avoid revealing his intentions to Yang Kaitai.

”Tomorrow, I will personally go to the arena to see how skilled this girl is, beating so many masters. But if she’s only reached the finals through dirty tricks, I’ll ensure she perishes at the arena. As for those associated with her, I’ll handle them too.” Yang Kaitai said coldly.

These words chilled Zhou Renjie’s heart, knowing Yang Kaitai would surely punish severely, as a warning to others. If he returns, people must be obedient, but Zhou Renjie didn’t expect Yang Kaitai to be so cruel, even wanting so many to accompany her in death. The Beijing Martial Arts World is likely to experience major upheaval.

However, despite the turmoil, with Yang Kaitai’s influence, nothing significant would be stirred.

For one, the Beijing Martial Arts Association was founded by Yang Kaitai, and for another, despite many changes over the years, given his influence, he could easily dispose of anyone. Who would dare contradict him?
