The City’s Strongest Son-in-law

Capítulo 727: Chapter 728: Ye Nianhai’s Cry

Sun Mei took Ye Nianhai to the balcony and casually placed him on the extremely cold floor.

When Sun Mei saw Ye Nianhai crying, there wasn’t a trace of pity in her eyes, and she even showed a satisfied smile.

“I really want that useless father of yours to see, to see how pitiful you look now,” Sun Mei said with a grin.

Ye Nianhai’s fair and delicate skin quickly turned a bit bluish-purple, even his lips turned slightly blue. He kept kicking his small legs, and even his little hands were flapping all the time.

Ye Nianhai’s cries seemed to be pleading for mercy from Sun Mei.

But the unmoved Sun Mei only had a cold smile on her face, without a shred of compassion.

To do such a thing to a baby just three days old, it’s now clear how vicious Sun Mei is; Su Changfeng not killing her in the first place was undoubtedly a massive mistake.

As Ye Nianhai’s cries gradually diminished, Sun Mei finally picked him up off the floor.

“If it wasn’t because I have to hand you over alive to that person, even if you froze to death, I wouldn’t have spared you a glance!” Sun Mei said coldly, with nothing but malice in her eyes.

After entering the room, Mei rewrapped Ye Nianhai in blankets.

In such cold weather, even an adult wouldn’t be able to resist the chill, let alone Ye Nianhai, who was just three days old.

Not long after, Ye Nianhai’s body started to heat up, even trembling slightly, and her complexion was clearly not well.

Sun Mei hurriedly carried Ye Nianhai downstairs and said to Tang Qiulu, “The child, the child seems to be ill, do we need to take her to the hospital?”

When Tang Qiulu, who was lying in bed, heard Sun Mei say this, she instantly jumped up.

“What’s wrong? What happened? She was fine just now, how did she suddenly get sick?” Tang Qiulu asked, somewhat panicked.

Sun Mei shook her head and replied, “I don’t know what happened either, I was just talking to her grandpa, and suddenly she was like this.”

Ye Nianhai’s condition was obviously not right, so Tang Qiulu immediately thought of going to the hospital to check, to avoid any accidents.

“Have someone prepare the car, we need to go to the hospital immediately,” Tang Qiulu said.

“You’re doing your confinement, and there’s such a strong wind outside. You shouldn’t go out, let me take the child instead,” Sun Mei said.

Sun Mei, without a second thought, carried Ye Nianhai out of the room.

Now that the child was sick, how could she be at ease?

Without watching over Ye Nianhai every single moment, she also couldn’t be at ease.

Sun Mei definitely wouldn’t let Tang Qiulu go, otherwise her plan couldn’t be executed, now was the only chance to take Ye Nianhai away.

“Qiulu, be good, you stay home, I can go by myself, you mustn’t go out now, confinement is especially important for us women,” Sun Mei quickly advised.

“No,” Tang Qiulu said firmly, “I must go. Aunt Liu, have someone prepare a car outside for me immediately.”

Liu Lili, hearing Tang Qiulu’s words, hurried over to ask, “What happened?”

“Ye Nianhai is ill; we have to go to the hospital right now,” Tang Qiulu said.

Liu Lili was somewhat shocked to hear this; there wasn’t anything wrong just now, so why did she suddenly get sick, and looking at Ye Nianhai, she seemed to be seriously ill.

At this moment, Sun Mei was very anxious, because she had finally figured out a way to leave with Ye Nianhai. If Tang Qiulu followed, all her efforts would have been in vain.

“Liu Lili, let’s go together, let Qiulu stay at home, there’s a wind blowing outside, and she’s doing her confinement, she can’t go out,” Sun Mei said.

Liu Lili, having experienced this herself, understood the importance of protecting one’s body during confinement; if any complications arose, it could lead to many problems in old age.

“Qiulu, your mother is right; you shouldn’t go out now. Rest at home and I’ll go with your mom. If there’s anything else, I’ll call you immediately,” Liu Lili said.

“Aunt Liu, I must go, I can’t be at ease staying at home by myself,” Tang Qiulu said.

Sun Mei then took Ye Nianhai from Tang Qiulu’s arms and said, “There’s nothing to worry about; even if you don’t go to the hospital, it doesn’t matter, right? Nowadays, no hospital dares to look down on us. You just stay at home, so you don’t get sick as well.”

“Yeah, Qiulu, if you got sick, the problem would be serious,” Liu Lili also advised Tang Qiulu, genuinely caring for her.

After struggling, Tang Qiulu could only say, “Alright then, you two go, but don’t forget to call me if there’s any other situation.”

Liu Lili thoughtfully packed some diapers and formula and went out with Sun Mei.

From the moment she stepped out the villa door, Sun Mei’s originally tense mind was relieved.

Tang Qiulu didn’t come, which meant her plan was more than halfway done, and with Liu Lili coming along, she even had someone to take the blame for her.

The two got into the car and headed straight for Jiangcheng City First People’s Hospital, but after getting off at the gates of the hospital, Sun Mei immediately got into another car with Ye Nianhai.

Liu Lili didn’t understand why Sun Mei was doing this, but since Mei was already in the car, all she could do was follow.

“Where are we going? Isn’t this the hospital? Why go somewhere else?” Liu Lili asked puzzledly.

“I found a more experienced doctor, who specializes in pediatric diseases,” Sun Mei said, her expression completely normal as she spoke.

Liu Lili didn’t doubt her; it never occurred to her that Sun Mei, being Ye Nianhai’s grandmother, would actually plan to harm him.

The car soon arrived at the outskirts of Jiang City, and Liu Lili wondered if Sun Mei’s doctor was some countryside doctor; could such a doctor really be trusted?

Liu Lili wanted Sun Mei to return to a hospital in the city since it would be safer, but being just a servant in the Shen Family, she had no authority to make decisions and couldn’t change Sun Mei’s mind.

The two entered a small farmyard, with the same driver as before.

“You’ve saved your own life,” the driver said to Sun Mei with a smile.

“I said I could do it, and I definitely could. No one can stop me,” Sun Mei said with a calm face.

“Being the grandmother of this little one, doing such a vicious thing, you don’t seem to feel any guilt,” the driver said.
