My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

”Tch. It’s just two security guards. What’s the big deal?” the waitress muttered. Though annoyed, she still went and brought out several large serving carts.

The two guards didn’t waste any time. Each pushed a large cart back to the factory.

”President Su, all the dishes are here.” After wheeling the carts to Su Miaoke and Chu Feng’s room, the two guards knocked on the door.

”Come in,” Su Miaoke said.

The two guards pushed the door open. The room was massive.

It was a large office with a huge desk and a luxurious leather sofa.

It was the first time either guard had been inside.

”Put the food on that table,” Su Miaoke said.

”Yes, President Su.” The two guards moved quickly and efficiently. In no time, they had arranged the vast spread of dishes on the table.

”You two haven’t eaten yet, have you? Sit down and eat with us,” Su Miaoke said to the two guards.

”Huh? There’s no need, President Su. We’ll grab something ourselves later. If we both eat, no one will be watching the gate,” one of the guards said.

As they were speaking, Chu Feng finished his shower and walked out.

”So much food?” Chu Feng was stunned when he saw the table laden with dishes.

He hadn’t expected Su Miaoke to order so much for him.

”Well, I was worried you’d be hungry, so I ordered a little extra,” Su Miaoke said.

”Xiao Liu, Xiao Wu, you two should eat with us. This is way too much food; we can’t possibly finish it all,” Chu Feng said to the two guards.

The two guards were about to say something else but were cut off by Chu Feng.

”Enough. No more arguing. I’m your boss. I’m the one who pays your salaries. Are you telling me you won’t even listen to what I say?” Chu Feng asked.

”But if we eat with you, no one will be watching the gate,” Xiao Wu said.

”It’s fine. Who would dare to steal from us in broad daylight? Besides, we have cameras. Sit down and eat with us,” Chu Feng said.

’Besides,’ Chu Feng thought, ’the factory is just piled high with raw herbs. Who would have nothing better to do than to steal those? They aren’t even finished products.’

”Oh, right. You two, go get Xiao Pan from the night shift and bring him here. We can all eat together. This food is delicious; it’s from a five-star hotel, you know,” Chu Feng added.

”Yes, President Chu.” Xiao Liu and Xiao Wu immediately left the room to call him.

This was a meal portioned for over twenty people. No matter how much Chu Feng could eat, he could probably only manage the equivalent of ten or so servings. There would still be plenty left over.

Chu Feng felt a bit helpless about it. He knew Su Miaoke’s personality; when she liked something, she’d buy it in droves, never worrying if it was too much or too expensive.

This feast in front of them alone must have cost tens of thousands of yuan.

”Is there any alcohol?” Chu Feng suddenly asked.

”Yes, Guojiao.” Su Miaoke nodded, taking two bottles of top-shelf Guojiao from a nearby liquor cabinet.

”I saved these especially for you. I was waiting for you to succeed with your refinement so we could have a proper celebration,” Su Miaoke said.

”Great. After we eat, I’ll let you experience the effects of the Nourishing Source Liquid,” Chu Feng said.

”Honey, this Nourishing Source Liquid you mentioned... after taking it, can it make you younger? Will it make my skin better?” Su Miaoke asked, full of curiosity.

”It has a small effect like that, but not a significant one. This liquid is primarily for Cultivation. It’s far more precious than some elixir of eternal youth. It’s meant to make you stronger. Those medicines that preserve your youth are just superficial; they don’t have much of an effect on one’s Cultivation,” Chu Feng explained.

’Besides,’ he thought, ’that so-called eternal youth is only temporary. If you cultivate to a high enough realm, the results are far more appealing than any youth-preserving elixir.’

’Compared to personal physical power and immense strength, appearance didn’t seem that important to him.’

’After all, if you cultivate to the pinnacle, you can achieve immortality and live forever. Eternal youth comes naturally with that.’

”What?” Su Miaoke’s eyes widened when she heard this.

”This Nourishing Source Liquid is just for Cultivation. It’s on a completely different level from some beauty-preserving, youth-retaining concoction,” Chu Feng said.

”Chu Feng! Don’t you care about me anymore?!” Su Miaoke suddenly demanded.

”Huh? What are you talking about? How could I not care about you?” Chu Feng was completely baffled.

”Don’t you know that every woman wants to be beautiful and stay beautiful? Why didn’t you refine a beauty-preserving Medicinal Liquid for me? Is it because you don’t love me anymore?” Su Miaoke asked.

Hearing Su Miaoke’s words, Chu Feng felt a headache coming on.

”What are you talking about? You’re being silly,” Chu Feng said, almost laughing.

”I know you want to stay young and beautiful forever. But those beauty-preserving liquids only work for a limited time—ten, twenty, maybe thirty years. They all have an expiration date. But if you cultivate to the pinnacle, you can achieve true eternal youth. You could lock in your appearance at eighteen or twenty years old forever.”

Chu Feng said to Su Miaoke with a smile.

”Really? What you’re saying sounds like something out of a myth.” Su Miaoke was taken aback.

Just then, the three security guards from Chu Feng’s factory arrived outside the door.

”Come on in and eat,” Chu Feng called out to the three of them.

The three were a bit overwhelmed by the gesture, not having expected President Chu to invite them to eat.

”Ah, yes, President Chu,” the three said respectfully.

”You three are all from the same military unit, aren’t you?” Chu Feng asked at the dinner table.

The three men glanced at each other, then nodded. ”Yes, President Chu. We all came from the same unit.”

”I heard you were special forces. You must be pretty good fighters, then?” Chu Feng asked.

”Us? We’re passable, I guess. We won some awards back in the service,” Xiao Wu, the guard, said, then asked curiously, ”But it looks to us like President Su knows some Martial Arts, too?”

They had been working here for a while and had occasionally seen Chu Feng and Su Miaoke practicing in the factory yard.

”That’s right. But I’ve only just started, so I’m not very good yet,” Su Miaoke said.

”The Martial Arts President Su practices seems to have a pretty impressive origin. It reminds me of our martial arts instructor from the army—it has that same profound and powerful feel to it,” Xiao Wu said.

”Is that so? What was your instructor’s background? What kind of Cultivation Technique did he teach you?” Chu Feng asked.

”We don’t know. The military has a ’don’t ask’ policy about things you’re not supposed to know. But our instructor was pretty old. Don’t let his age fool you, though. The three of us together couldn’t take him,” Xiao Wu said, as the other two nodded in agreement.
