Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 638: Star Sunflower Fish

Yang Yixi continued to manage Surging Motion. Combine, clear out, absorb, exile... He did things that everyone did during the apocalypse.

Ye Zhongming didnʼt worry for him. He had seen his management ability. With his support, some people in Surging Motion might cause problems, but no one could threaten him.

Of course, Ye Zhongming still had to do some things before Yang Yixi and his squad could be of help. He didnʼt want them to become his men because it wasnʼt worth it, but he had to make them stronger to help.

Ye Zhongming needed them to get stronger such that they were barely passable. Moreover, he wanted to find several completely dried corpses to prove his conjecture.

Thus, he had to return to the ground.

But he didnʼt plan to go alone. He wanted to use this chance to see the strength of the silver zombie. He needed the blood of level-five mutated lifeforms to craft one, on top of the elder sister reaching level-five.

After crafting some white-grade equipment for Yang Yixi, Ye Zhongming asked a few questions before leaving with a map. Survivors dug many tunnels underground around Linhai City. Apart from a few separate factions, most of the camps were similar.

This effectively allowed the people to escape when strong mutated lifeforms or dried corpses found their base.

For example, Surging Motionʼs camp. There were five paths out. Some were connected to the ground, some went deeper underground, and some were linked with the camps of other factions.

The duo that came to buy Death King Tree seeds came through these tunnels.

Based on the map, Ye Zhongming passed many faction camps. It took half a day to reach his destination.

It was an underground river. This river lived a mutated lifeform--Star Sunflower Fish.

Mutated lifeforms who lived underground were similar to humans; the Roselle Cedar attacked them. They were able to live because of their strong adaptability. Apart from that, some of them managed to live underground.

The most famous were naturally mutated rats. These things were hated by survivors even during the apocalypse, but they were most welcomed in Linhai. Not only were there many of them, but their reproductive ability was strong, and they ate everything. The lack of food didnʼt affect them too much. They were the biggest source of materials and demon crystals. Be it the darkest days when the Death King Tree forced the survivors underground or the half a year when they were fighting hard to survive, they were the motivation that allowed survivors to evolve.

Because of their importance, the various factions even had the largest meeting to prohibit exterminating these rats. They even gave them a survivor region where no humans could pass.

This agreement was the only one that factions in Linhai followed up to date.

When Ye Zhongming learned about this from Yang Yixi, he was so shocked that he couldnʼt close his mouth. But upon thinking about it, he could understand.

They had to maintain a steady flow of crystals and materials. Even survivors in the apocalypse who had no rules had to follow these.

Because they knew that once these resources were gone, even if one person got them all, it was useless. Truth proved that no one could rely on their own strength to escape Linhai. During this year, there were numerous Feasting Days. The experts from Linhai and those from outside ended up dead and in corpses.

So, this verbal agreement was firmly followed by all factions. They could kill each other for other matters but wouldnʼt work together to exterminate the mutated rats.

But in the end, even the rats who reproduced quickly couldnʼt satisfy the needs of humans. Survivors could only search underground. Finally, a few years ago, they found another mutated lifeform that could help to make the situation better.

This was the Star Sunflower Fish in this underground river.

A survivor came here to get water and was attacked. He was forced to jump into this cold river that he didnʼt know how deep it was. He relied on his good swimming and evolvedʼs body to dodge the sneak attack. While hiding underwater, he noticed thousands of mutated fish, most of which were level two and three.

These were the main crystals that current evolved needed here. This amount meant around twenty bottles. If they were lucky, they could get 30-40 bottles.

This discovery made the survivor excited. After he escaped, he informed his faction, and they organized people to hunt. But when they sent many people who were good at swimming down, they realized things werenʼt as expected. There were many groups of these fishes. So many that those who went underground felt numb. They even saw level four and five fishes.

In the end, under the attacks of these groups, only a few of them survived.

The news was leaked, and a few experts from Linhai went down to investigate. They confirmed the large amount of mutated Star Sunflower Fishes, over a hundred thousand of them. They werenʼt sure about the exact number as they didnʼt dare to head too deep in as there were too many dangers.

But this number was enough to make them excited. After discussing, they decided not to settle on the same agreement as with those rats. After all, not every faction could head underwater to hunt. These fishes couldnʼt be completely killed quickly.

The truth was exactly that. Although everyone knew that there were many crystals and materials here, everyone would head down to hunt every day, but very few people could get benefits. Most of the people who went underwater died.

Ye Zhongming planned to turn the older sister into a silver zombie and needed level-five mutated lifeform blood to create a blood pool. Apart from the rats, this was the only other place Yang Yixi knew had level-five mutated lifeforms.

Thus, Ye Zhongming came here. But after arriving, he noticed that there were many others that were here before him.
