Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2812: The Truth

The Khaos Gates had never been simple sources of power.

Decades of accumulated understanding reveal their secrets.

Killgragah’s Gate of Famine governed devouring, an absolute consumption, the secret behind Emery raise to power.

Chututlu’s Gate of Pestilence held dominion over substances and transformation, one that allowed Emery to manipulate toxins, decay, and compound reactions. Forming the foundation of his prowess in apothecary and poison.

And then there was Daurgototh—the Gate of Death.

Death was not destruction; it was persistence after ending, the echo left behind when life was extinguished.

When he had been trapped within the World Beast’s belly, there had been no corpses to experiment with. His understanding of death-law remained shallow, incomplete.

Of all the Gates, it was the one Emery understood the least.

Yet Daurgototh had always been the key.

The Dark Avatar’s prolonged presence within the Ancient Domain, immersed in Shiva’s absolute cold, supplied the missing piece.

That realization, combined with the dozens of intact corpses scattered across the chamber, completed the condition.

They became the final catalyst.

The Dark Avatar raised his hand, Khaos energy spiraling tightly as comprehension aligned at last.

[Reanimate Death].

The Gate of Death responded.

A tide of icy blue flame flowed outward, threading itself into the fallen bodies like a second breath. One by one, the corpses stirred and rose. Death-law authority bound them together beneath Emery’s will.

The battlefield transformed.

Undead advanced in disciplined silence, meeting Shiva’s ice elementals head-on. Frost blades shattered against preserved cosmic flesh, while necrotic flames tore through divine ice with relentless pressure. Each collision sent shockwaves through the chamber as frozen authority and Khaos ground against one another, neither yielding, neither retreating.

From the rear of the battlefield, Eeshoo stood frozen in disbelief.

He watched as Emery remained at the center of the storm, unmoving, unyielding, commanding dozens of the dead through sheer will and forbidden law.

”WHERE IS SHE?!!.”

The Dark Avatar’s voice carried no restraint now. Rage was present, but it was no longer chaotic. It had crystallized into purpose. With each step forward toward the goddess statue, the clash between blue khaos-flame and Shiva’s divine frost intensified, the air screaming as ancient laws crushed together.

Unfortunately,

Most of the corpses he had seized were those of Grand Magus, beings whose cosmic bodies were immensely resilient even in death. Controlling so many at once placed an unbearable strain on his shallow comprehension of the Law of Death. Worse still, this was only a clone body—its limits far more fragile than his true form.

Yet the Dark Avatar did not hesitate.

He was prepared to give everything in exchange for an answer.

Step by step, he forced himself forward. With each advance, his control weakened; the deathly bindings anchoring the undead began to unravel. Ice elementals surged through the gaps, tearing the reanimated corpses apart, reducing them to frozen fragments and shattered bone.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the Dark Avatar’s body.

His form trembled violently, fragments of Khaos energy leaking through the fractures as the strain threatened to tear him apart entirely.

He swiftly reached for the connection to his true body—trying to call Emery across the gate—but spatial distortions churned violently through the chamber, severing the link. The same ancient restraints suppressing artifacts and formations now interfered with the Khaos Gate itself.

”Endure!!”

Driven by sheer will, he pushed through the pain.

and finally

laid his palm against the frozen statue of the goddess.

Suddenly—

The entire space froze.

Not merely the air, but motion itself. Ice elementals halted mid-strike. Shattered fragments hung suspended. Even the raging clash of divine frost and death-flame fell into absolute silence.

Then, the voice of the goddess echoed once more—vast, ancient, and unyielding.

”You have passed the challenge,” she declared.

”But you are not of Nephilim descent. I cannot grant you our legacy.”

A pause followed, heavy with judgment.

”However... I will grant you the answer you seek.”

The Frozen Throne acknowledged him.

And in that moment, everything changed.

The frozen world shattered into motion within his mind.

A vision unfolded before the Dark Avatar’s eyes.

Klea.

She stood alone within the Frozen Throne, her figure battered yet unyielding, frost and lightning tearing through the chamber as she faced the ancient trial. Ice elementals fell beneath her strikes, shattered by raw will and refined technique. Even when blood stained the frozen ground and her breath came ragged, she did not retreat.

She fought like a storm given form.

Against all odds, she prevailed.

The Dark Avatar witnessed the moment the throne acknowledged her—Shiva’s authority descending like a crown of frost. The legacy of the Ice Goddess flowed into Klea’s body, reshaping her aura, refining her soul. She stood taller, no longer merely surviving, but ascending.

And then—

She left the chamber alive.

”She succeeded...” the Dark Avatar thought, disbelief and relief colliding.

”Then where is she?”

Her name had been carved upon two trials, immortalized by the Sanctums. Yet the Frozen Throne bore no such mark. That absence gnawed at him.

The vision shifted once more.

From the omniscient vantage of the Frozen Throne, the goddess revealed what lay within her domain.

The scene changed to a secluded cave within the ice domain—an isolated chamber where Klea sat in meditation, consolidating her newly acquired legacy. Frost and cosmic energy coiled around her in perfect harmony.

That was when it happened.

A presence emerged from concealment—cold, deliberate. Klea reacted instantly, drawing upon her power, but the ambush was flawless. Artifacts activated in rapid succession, suppressing her. She fought fiercely, unleashing everything she had gained, but the enemy was prepared.

She was overwhelmed.

Bound.

Sealed within a containment artifact forged to imprison even those touched by divine legacy.

And then she was gone.

Taken from the Frozen Throne.

That was two years ago.

Rage erupted like a supernova within the Dark Avatar’s soul.

WHO DARES?!!

The Dark Avatar’s strength faltered as the vision ended. His clone body had reached its limit.

With the last fragments of energy remaining, he send a single message across the void.

”Come quickly.”

With the challenge ended, it successfully passed through the Gate.

The frozen world resumed.

Time flowed once more.

Eeshoo and Jinkan saw the ice elementals dissolve into mist, their forms unraveling as the trial ended. What remained was Emery’s body—his Dark Avatar—standing motionless, cracks spreading rapidly across its form.

”Emery!” Jinkan cried.

They watched in horror as the clone shattered into fragments of fading Khaos energy.

For a heartbeat, silence reigned.

”Did he fail? He died?!”

Then—

Space rippled violently.

A rift tore open where the clone had fallen, and a figure stepped through.

Emery.

His true body.

Uninjured. Whole. Radiating an overwhelming presence.

The two Nephilim froze.

Not only were his garments different, but his aura had fundamentally changed.

”Grand Magus Realm...” Eeshoo shock breaking through his composure.

Jinkan stared at Emery, her eyes wide with disbelief.

”What happened? How did you—”

Emery did not answer.

The Dark Avatar’s memories surged into him, flooding his consciousness with rage, grief, and murderous resolve. The vision of Klea’s capture burned itself into his mind.

The image was blurred—but the truth was clear.

Who possessed the authority to abduct someone from within a Nephilim trial?

Only someone within the Nephilim hierarchy.

Emery’s eyes hardened, a killing intent colder than Shiva’s frost spreading outward.

”Bastard...” he said quietly.

”Whoever you are... I will find you.”
