Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2647: In Time

The battlefield roared.

A blazing comet of fury collides with an ancient blade that sliced through the fabric of time.

Morgana, wrapped in a tempest of dark fire, lunged again. Her movements blurred like a meteor streaking across the void, every swipe of her claws leaving molten trails that scorched through the battlefield domain. Flames curled around her limbs, fanned by bursts of Khaos energy that flared with every breath.

Kronos matched her, scythe swinging in elegant arcs, each strike precise, each parry timed to perfection. His boots never quite touched the ground, gliding instead on a ripple of temporal distortion, time flowing around him like a cloak. He used short bursts of acceleration, shimmered in and out of existence, splitting off and merging again, fighting on multiple timeframes.

Thunderous explosions rang out as the two figures exchanged blow after devastating blow.

The crowd could barely keep up. Even the Magus-level spectators were stunned.

On the sidelines, Julian, Klea, and Thrax watched with breathless intensity. Jinkan’s intelligence did not mention Kronos possessing such a terrifying artifact. But equally shocking was Morgana. None of them had imagined that she possessed this level of strength.

Flames surged as Morgana spun midair before she plunged, claw first, toward Kronos. He deflected the attack with a scythe sweep that sent sparks flying, then countered.

BOOM!!

A thunderous collision forced both fighters apart. They were hurled in opposite directions, trailing debris and blood. Morgana slammed into the far arena wall, coughing black smoke. Kronos tumbled backward, his divine aura flickering.

Both Morgana and Kronos coughed up blood. Their bodies trembled.

But they stood.

Kronos was the first to speak, his voice hoarse with strain.

”Hahaha... you all did fool me... If only I had one more recovery spell.” He wiped blood from his lips, still smiling. ”But it doesn’t matter.”

He turned his gaze downward, to the item in his palm—the hourglass.

”I thought he was joking,” Kronos muttered. ”But here I am, pushed to the edge... just as he said.” He laughed again. ”With this... I can finally cast my true spell.”

He lifted the hourglass into the air.

Half the dust remained.

And then, with a flick of his wrist, he turned it.

He flipped the hourglass.

Another wave of power exploded outward from him—greater than before, more refined, more terrifying. It wasn’t just a surge of energy... Reality itself bent toward Kronos, aligning to his will. ＲἈℕȫβÈś

Morgana had been preparing another charge, her claws wreathed in spiraling Khaos flames—but then it hit her. A sharp, blinding pain stabbed into her skull. Her limbs froze. Her vision shattered into fragments.

Tick... tick... tick...

That damned sound. Louder than before. Echoing not just in her ears, but through her soul.

And then—

Everything shifted.

She gasped and stumbled, now standing in the Earth faction’s corner of the arena.

Her flames were gone, breathing hard in her human form.

She blinked, disoriented. ”What—why am I here?”

A wave of pain shot through her skull again, like memories colliding.

Klea caught her before she fell. ”Morgana?! What happened?”

”Did I... lose?... is this an illusion?!” Morgana roared, clutching her temples. But before Klea could answer, the thunder of battle erupted from the center of the arena.

Morgana turned. Her eyes widened.

Kronos was there, but he wasn’t fighting her.

He was fighting Julian.

Bathed in radiant light, Julian soared on six burning wings, sword ablaze with divine fire. ”Good! All of you, see! I am JULIAN! I am the hero of this story!” he bellowed, charging at Kronos like a falling sun.

But halfway through his assault, the holy fire sputtered. ”No... not now!” Julian gasped as his aura dimmed. He flung out his divine technique: six colossal golden wings folded inward, forming a luminous cocoon around him.

Morgana’s eyes widened.

This was exactly how their previous exchange had played out. Realization struck like ice. She glared at Kronos. He wore the same arrogant poise, but now there was a subtle curl of amusement at the corner of his mouth.

Then she saw something that hadn’t been there before—the hourglass glowing in Kronos’s palm.

She realized it with a sickening twist in her gut.

”He turned back time!”

The sudden weight of the truth crashed into Morgana like a tidal wave. Her breath hitched, her claws trembled.

And if she was right...

Kronos knew.

He knew Julian was feigning weakness.

She turned sharply toward Klea, panic threading her voice.

”We have to warn him!”

But it was already too late.

Kronos didn’t bother with his phantoms this time. Instead, he invoked the full might of his new power, casting a battlefield domain fueled by his breakthrough to the Second Cosmos Realm. Time twisted; starlight condensed. He raised his scythe, and a thunderous arc cleaved straight into Julian’s golden cocoon.

It came down like divine judgment.

BOOMM!!

A thunderous explosion erupted as the blow collided with Julian’s barrier, shattering it like brittle glass. Wings tore apart. Flames scattered. Julian’s eyes widened.

He hadn’t finished charging.

”Wha—”

He couldn’t even finish the thought.

A second strike slammed into his chest, hurling him downward.

BOOMM!!!

He crashed into the ground with bone-cracking force, carving a crater beneath him.

There was no glorious reversal.

No divine counterattack.

Only the raw, brutal silence of a fallen champion.

Kronos descended, his scythe raised, poised for the killing blow.

”NO!” Klea cried.

The entire arena held its breath.

However, just as the gleaming edge of Kronos’ scythe hovered an inch from Julian’s neck, he stopped.

He stared at Julian’s bruised, beaten form.

And slowly lowered his blade.

”I will not kill you,” he said coldly. ”Be grateful to your god.”

With a dismissive flick, he turned away.

Julian had lost. Defeated—utterly. But unlike before, Kronos had emerged nearly untouched. He had not used his second recovery spell. He had not been pushed to the brink.

This time, the timeline was rewritten in his favor.

His gaze slid across the stadium until it locked onto Morgana.

”It’s your turn...”
