Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2488: Journey

The magical carriage glided seamlessly across the rugged mountainous terrain, its enchanted wheels shifting and adapting effortlessly to the rocky, uneven path. Occasionally, Emeryʼs divine sense would detect the presence of rare materials hidden beneath the surface—veins of precious ores or clusters of magical herbs. At these moments, he would signal for the group to stop, allowing them a few hours to gather the valuable resources.

When the landscape permitted, Emery used these breaks to provide practical training for the three acolytes. He tasked them with hunting creatures that inhabited the area, ensuring they not only honed their combat skills but also contributed to the groupʼs hearty meals.

As the group descended toward the coastline, the scenery began to change. The jagged peaks softened into rolling hills, and the crisp mountain air gave way to a salty ocean breeze. When they finally reached the waterʼs edge, the magical carriage underwent a stunning transformation.

The intricate runes carved into its frame glowed faintly as the wheels retracted into the body, disappearing with a smooth, mechanical grace. The undercarriage shifted and expanded, reshaping itself into a streamlined hull. Moments later, it floated upon the sea like a graceful ship, cutting through the gentle waves. Though slightly slower than on land, its enchanted propulsion ensured steady progress.

Shinta, filled with youthful energy, swung open the carriage door, letting the fresh sea air rush in. Her hair danced in the wind as she leaned out, marveling at the endless blue horizon. ”This feels amazing!” she exclaimed, her voice carrying excitement.

Inside, the three acolytes—Shinta, Ha Ron, and Kingrig—laughed and chatted, enjoying the rare moment of relaxation. Their lively banter added warmth to the otherwise serene journey.

Emery, however, was not as carefree. Seated across from the elderly Grand Magus Stolts, he was deeply engrossed in a discussion about spatial magic. The old grand magus, was eagerly curious about the extent of Emeryʼs spatial ability requested him to show some demonstration.

During such moments, suddenly, Emeryʼs divine sense flared. His brow furrowed as he turned his attention outward. Hundreds of miles away, he detected an immense disturbance—a surge of energy rippled across the ley lines of the realm. It was unmistakable: a battle of incredible magnitude.

”Thereʼs a battle ahead” Emery replied, closing his eyes to concentrate.

Though the source was over five hundred miles away, his heightened senses allowed him to perceive the clash with some clarity.

Emery weighed his options quickly. The last thing they needed was another delay or to stumble into a deadly conflict. Deciding to avoid trouble, he directed the carriage to take a longer route around the disturbance.

Minutes after diverting their course to avoid the distant battle, the group found themselves still within the stormʼs grasp. The once-calm sea had transformed into a roiling expanse of chaos. Massive waves surged, crashing into the magical carriage boat and rocking it violently. Above, dark clouds churned, and lightning illuminated the sky, as if the very heavens were at war.

As the storm intensified, unnatural shapes began to rise from the turbulent waters. Dozens of massive crab-like sea creatures surfaced one by one, their hard exoskeletons gleaming under sporadic flashes of lightning. Their razor-sharp claws snapped menacingly, and their glowing eyes exuded a wild fury.

”Weʼre under attack!” Shintaʼs voice rang out sharply as she spotted multiple sea creatures leaping out of the turbulent waters onto the floating carriage.

Seeing that the attackers were only magical-level creatures, Emery remained calm and gestured for the acolytes to handle the situation. He leaned back slightly in his seat, his divine sense attuned to both the immediate threat and the distant storm.

Shinta wasted no time, her vines springing to life with a wave of her hand. They snaked across the carriageʼs edges, forming a living barrier that lashed out at any creature trying to board.

Kingrig stood at the rear, his hands crackling with electric energy. With precise aim, he unleashed bolts of lightning, the bright arcs illuminating the stormy skies as they struck the creatures with pinpoint accuracy.

Meanwhile, Ha Ron held the front line, his blade a blur of steel as he delivered powerful, calculated strikes. Each slash cleaved through the tough exoskeletons of the creatures, sending them crashing back into the roiling sea.

The three acolytes moved in perfect harmony despite the chaos.

However, the creatures seemed unyielding, their glowing eyes filled with an unnatural fury. They climbed and clawed relentlessly, their shrill cries blending with the howling wind and crashing waves.

From within the carriage, Emery observed the battle with a calm, analytical gaze. His divine sense pierced through the chaos, unraveling the mystery behind the creaturesʼ aggression. The realization struck him like a bolt of clarity. The frenzy of these sea creatures wasnʼt natural—it was a side effect of the titanic battle raging at the center of the distant storm. ŕá𐌽ő฿Ëŝ

While the acolytes fought valiantly, Emeryʼs divine sense expanded, painting a picture of the unfolding chaos hundreds of miles away.

A supreme being—radiating power so immense it warped the air around it—was locked in a ferocious battle with a massive, godlike sea creature. The creatureʼs scales shimmered with an otherworldly glow, its movements creating whirlpools with each strike. The supreme being wielded devastating spells, tearing through the creatureʼs defenses with raw, unrelenting force.

Emery watched in awe, unable to tear his gaze away. The sheer scale and intensity of the battle were unlike anything he had seen before. Even at this distance, the clash was a stark reminder of the realmʼs unforgiving power dynamics.

As the carriage passed beyond the turmoil, Emery took a deep breath, his mind heavy with thoughts. This realm was not one to take lightly. Here, Grand Magus roamed freely, and Supreme Beings were more than mere legends.

Once again, Emery resolved to tread carefully. In this land of gods and titans, even a momentʼs recklessness could spell doom. When they finally emerged from the turbulent waters and left the storm behind, Emery noticed something peculiar. Despite the chaos they had just endured, the elderly Grand Magus sat slouched in his seat, snoring softly. He had slept through the entire ordeal.

The sight made Emery narrow his eyes in curiosity. The old manʼs nonchalance raised even more questions about his true identity.

As they sailed smoothly for a few more hours, the coastline came into view, and soon the enchanted carriage transitioned seamlessly back into its wheeled form as it reached solid ground. The detour had thrown them significantly off course, but Emeryʼs divine sense picked up something intriguing—a small village nestled near the forest edge.

Shinta, brimming with excitement, leaned out of the carriage. ”Father, Weʼve been traveling for days. Letʼs take a break and explore!” she pleaded, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Emery, however, planned to avoid the village entirely. But just as he was about to urge the group forward, the elderly grand magus spoke up. ”Thatʼs a fairy town, I thought you might be interested in seeing them.”
