Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2371: Insight

As Emery stood there, holding the wooden sword in his hands, a wave of bittersweet emotion washed over him. He had hoped, perhaps irrationally, to encounter something more—a lingering trace of his late senior, Fuxi.

But all that greeted him was the faint voice of the sword.

”What was I thinking….” he murmured to himself, trying to suppress the disappointment.

Emery ran his fingers along the smooth wooden hilt, tracing the delicate engraving of seven connected dots on the blade.

Despite its beauty, Emery knew the swordʼs true nature. It wasnʼt designed for combat or battle—this wasnʼt a warriorʼs blade, but rather a tool. Fuxi had used it to carve intricate formations, much like how Klea used her Lotus pen to scribe runes. The sword was a piece of art, an instrument of creation rather than destruction.

The voice echoed again, almost inquiring, though devoid of emotion.

”Yes, he has.”

A brief silence followed as if the sword was processing the information. Then, it spoke again:

The question caught Emery off guard. He remained silent for a few moments, processing the implications.

It quickly became clear to him that the soul within the sword was a common soul, embedded within the sword for one purpose only: to help enhance the artifactʼs potential. It had no personal memories, no connection to the soulʼs previous life. Its only function was to assist in the art of formation.

As useful as the sword might be for his own purposes, Emery couldnʼt bring himself to claim it, not yet. This artifact was deeply tied to Fuxiʼs legacy, and Emery wasnʼt ready to take ownership of that just yet.

Instead of answering the swordʼs question, he gently placed it into his storage ring along with Fuxiʼs other items to be discussed with his friends later.

Emery had expected this, knowing that once they had disrupted the formationʼs core, the entire space would unravel.

Ashaka, standing by the small lake at the center of the domain, gazed across the tranquil water. Despite the peaceful surface, there was an undercurrent of anticipation. He turned to Emery, his expression hopeful. ”When the domain completely dissipates, Damo should be able to recover fully.” Ꞧà𐌽𝔬𝐛ƐŜ

After collecting all the items from the bamboo hut—it became clear for Emery that the domain was beginning to collapse. The air shimmered and rippled, the landscape trembling as if it were struggling to hold itself together.

”When the domain completely dissipates, Damo should be able to recover fully.”

Emery joined him by the lakeside, the two of them watching as the vibrant colors of the domain—the mountains, forests, and distant ocean—began to blur and fade. The once sprawling landscape was gradually shrinking, pulling inward as if being erased from existence. It felt almost melancholic, as though they were witnessing the final moments of a grand creation. A realm painstakingly crafted by the Sage of the Six Paths, Fuxi, now dissolving into nothingness.

At first, Emeryʼs only concern was to ensure Damoʼs safety as the domain broke down. He kept his senses sharp, his divine energy attuned to any potential dangers that might arise from the disintegration. But soon, something unexpected happened.

As the domain continued to unravel, a surge of cosmic energy erupted from its core, rippling through the air. The fluctuation caught Emery and Ashaka off guard, washing over them like an invisible tidal wave. Both of them staggered slightly, their auras flaring in response.

”What...?” Emery muttered, his mind suddenly overwhelmed by the energy. It wasnʼt just chaotic power; there was something profound embedded within the cosmic surge. ”This...this energy... it holds the law of multiple elements”

The realization struck them both. This was a remnant of the Sageʼs deep understanding of the 8 elements. The cosmic fluctuation carried fragments of his elemental comprehension, a gift hidden within the collapse of the domain.

Without speaking, both Emery and Ashaka settled into a meditative stance, closing their eyes and allowing the energy to seep into their souls. Every wave of cosmic power that passed through them carried with it a glimpse of Fuxiʼs mastery. Each element flowed through them, and within those few precious moments, they were both granted valuable insights into the Sageʼs profound knowledge.

For hours, Emery and Ashaka remained in deep meditation, their bodies still but their minds swirling with the vast cosmic energy that enveloped them. Initially, Emery focused on his understanding of natureʼs elements—water, earth, wood, and the life force they carried. But as the energy pulsed stronger, he began to perceive something far more profound: the intricate balance between the eight elements.

Ice and fire, opposites in nature, werenʼt just enemies; they existed in a perpetual state of balance, each oneʼs weakness balancing the otherʼs strength. The same was true for earth and wind, metal and plant, lightning and water. This harmony wasnʼt just about creation and destruction—it was about understanding the ebb and flow, the push and pull that kept everything in balance.

Where one faltered, the other thrived, and in their interaction, they created stability. It was this understanding that pushed his mastery of the Law of Nature forward, a step closer to the full realization of its potential.

[Your comprehension of the Law of Nature has improved.]

[Law of Nature: 44 (45%)]

[Soul force increased.]

The cosmic flow around them began to dim as the domain neared its end, signaling the final moments of their journey within this sacred place. Just before the domain completely disintegrated, Emery swiftly pulled Ashaka out, bringing them both back to the shrine near Terra Palace. As the familiar surroundings of the shrine came into focus, Emery opened his eyes, feeling the rush of returning to reality.

It wasnʼt just the intense experience within the domain that lingered in his mind. To his surprise, Emery saw Damo standing tall, his entire being radiating with vitality. The young monkʼs aura had transformed—stronger, more refined. He had fully awakened, broken through to the Half-Moon realm.
