Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2128: Daring Plan

After taking some rest, Emery continued the grueling battle with Mo Yanʼs soul. Over two more exhausting days, he managed to permanently devour 30% of Mo Yanʼs essence. The furious spirit master could no longer form his third-level pagoda, his rage palpable.

”YOU BASTARD!! Stop this madness!! Dont push me further!!” Mo Yan bellowed, his voice trembling with a mix of fury and desperation.

During these two days, Emery had not only boosted his soul force but also significantly strengthened his soul. He felt that with another day or two of devouring, he could form the second-story soul palace without the need to activate the celestial divine spell [Prism of Light].

However, Emery decided to stop, not because he feared Mo Yanʼs threats of self-detonation, but because of his incredible gains. Each increment in soul force had brought him closer to a profound breakthrough, and he knew that pushing further right now might risk more than he could afford.

Devouring Mo Yan, a grand magus proficient in the law of darkness, proved to be more beneficial than Emery had anticipated. Emery could feel his primal core gradually recovering its full power. While the progress was undeniably beneficial, this rapid recovery brought a sense of anxiety. Maintaining the balance between his two cores was already a delicate task, and any disruption could have unforeseen consequences.

As he continued to contemplate the situation, Emery couldnʼt shake the realization that even with a few more days of relentless soul-devouring, he might still fail to break through Mo Yanʼs formidable mental defenses. Meanwhile, the aperture continued to degrade, its destruction looming closer with each passing moment.

Releasing Mo Yanʼs soul was never an option for Emery. Instead, he started to consider an alternative idea, one that might involve forcefully breaking the aperture open. Emery delved into his reservoir of knowledge, devising a plan that capitalized on his two greatest strengths: his profound understanding of the law of space and his heightened spirit reading sense. With these tools at his disposal, he set out to tackle the challenge of breaking open the aperture.

His first strategy involved leveraging the [Prism of Light] to form a divine sense, which he then used to probe the depths of the apertureʼs space. The goal was to establish a mark that allowed him to open a portal from the outside. It seemed like a promising approach, but despite hours of effort, Emery found himself thwarted at every turn. The elusive nature of the apertureʼs interior remained beyond his grasp.

With just three days left before the aperture faced total destruction, Emeryʼs sense of urgency reached its peak. He turned his attention to an alternative solution: the incomplete tier 7 [Spirit Devour] spell. Despite its deficiencies, Emery clung to the hope that the enhancements he had achieved in his spirit devour technique during the recent days might offer him the insights necessary to refine or adapt the spell to suit his needs.

Despite his efforts, Emery soon encountered a significant obstacle: he lacked the necessary comprehension of the law of devouring to fully grasp the intricacies of the spell. Heorgarʼs notes wrote that a minimum of 15% comprehension of the law of devouring was required to just start the spell, more was needed to properly wield it.

Refusing to be deterred by this setback, Emery sought alternative solutions. He began to dissect the spell, breaking its intricate diagram into three distinct runes: one for penetration, one for essence extraction, and one for absorption.

Faced with the seemingly insurmountable barrier, Emery devised a daring plan. He resolved to focus solely on mastering the penetration rune, creating an opening large enough for his divine sense to infiltrate the aperture. Once inside, he could utilize his space-traveling skills to navigate the chaotic environment. ℞åƝƟ𝐛ÊS̈

”Sounds like a plan”

Despite the daunting challenge ahead, Emery remained determined to succeed.

”VIA helped me calculate the strength needed to break that barrier and provide me with the best possible diagram combinations”

VIA diligently crunched the numbers, analyzing the aperture barrierʼs integrity. With VIAʼs invaluable assistance, Emery was able to maximize his chances of success.

The process of modifying the spell felt akin to crafting one of his intricate apothecary recipes. Hours were spent in collaboration with VIA, fine-tuning every aspect of the spell to perfection. Emery spared no expense, venturing to the Golden City to procure the expensive tier 7 materials required for the refinements.

Despite his relentless efforts, another day passed with little progress to show for his endeavors. Emeryʼs frustration mounted as he continued to grapple with the incomplete version of the Tier 7 [Spirit Devour].

With the spellʼs potency still far below the desired level, Emeryʼs confidence wavered. Meanwhile, Mo Yanʼs growing restlessness served as a constant reminder of the impending destruction looming over them. ”Are you going to let it all be destroyed!! release me!!”

Despite Mo Yanʼs frantic protests, Emery remained focused on his task, pouring all his concentration into refining the spell.

As Emeryʼs plan reached its critical juncture, VIAʼs predictions grew increasingly dire, until it reached a point where the artificial being could no longer foresee the outcome with certainty.

”Alright! This is the best we can do!!” After ample preparation, Emery activated the incomplete spell, pouring his focus and energy into it as he channeled the power through his Blade Claw. The explosive force of his action sent shockwaves rippling through the air, causing excruciating pain to shoot through his arms. Amidst the tumult, the aperture itself seemed to react, its energies spiraling out of control and intensifying the chaos within.

With each passing moment, the situation grew more dire. VIA, relayed crucial information to Emery, warning him that his actions had destabilized the aperture, hastening its destruction. The artificial beingʼs urgent recommendation for retreat echoed in Emeryʼs mind.

Just as Emeryʼs resolve wavered and he contemplated withdrawing his Blade Claw, his divine sense was finally able to create a mark. Without hesitation, he invoked his Blink skill, transporting himself into the heart of the aperture.

”I am really in!” Just minutes later, the aperture ruptured, unleashing its pent-up cosmic energies, a cataclysmic explosion rocked the Alavnic mountain to its core. The sheer force of the blast sent shockwaves rippling across the land. The tremors reverberated throughout the entire region, their intensity felt even in the farthest reaches of the seven kingdoms.

Queen Soonheeʼs gaze shifted toward the unfolding catastrophe, her expression etched with deep concern.
