“A piece of jewelry worth 50,000 Spirit Stones! I must get my hands on it!”

Wang Teng’s eyes brightened.

He loved this kind of intelligence; he could easily gain 50,000 Spirit Stones.

“First, I’ll get the blood bodhi, then I’ll go to Jufengyuan Restaurant to buy the Eight-Treasure Chicken!”

Wang Teng made his decision immediately.

And headed straight towards the North City… At this moment, on a street in the North City… In the wind-swept corner of the street, two young beggars huddled against the wall.

Their clothes were patched over patched, so grey that their original color was indiscernible, and their tattered pant legs revealed frostbitten, crimson ankles.

The elder brother was about eight or nine years old, and the younger sister looked only four or five; both were emaciated, their small faces purple from the cold.

They timidly watched the passersby, their eyes full of longing.

Occasionally, when someone passed by, the elder brother would pull his sister along and beg feebly, “Please, good sirs, give us something to eat!”

His voice was as thin as a mosquito’s buzz, almost drowned out by the wind.

Most passersby were in a hurry, few stopped, and some even walked around them quickly.

The younger sister shivered from the cold, clinging tightly to her brother’s embrace.

The elder brother rubbed her cold little hands while continuing to watch every passerby with hopeful eyes.

“Brother! I’m so cold… so hungry!”

The younger sister lifted her dirty, sallow little face, her voice very weak.

They had not eaten for three days, and their bodies were about to give out.

“Little sister, just hold on a little longer, a kind person will surely take pity on us!”

The elder brother looked down at his weak and listless sister, his eyes red, tears silently falling.

They came from a small mountain village; due to a severe drought, there was no harvest, and they fled to Ancient Wind City.

Along the way, their parents successively died of illness, leaving only the two siblings, who endured countless hardships.

They had originally thought that coming to Ancient Wind City would allow them to beg for food, but reality was very cruel.

Now, they could no longer hold on; they even saw the figures of their parents before their eyes, seemingly coming to take them away.

Just then, a rich aroma of milk wafted over.

The two siblings sniffed, constantly swallowing saliva, their eyes filled with longing, but they knew this was not something that belonged to them.

“Drink!”

Wang Teng handed a bottle of Beast Milk to the two siblings and said.

“For… for us?”

The young beggar Li Yu looked at Wang Teng in front of him and reconfirmed.

“Yes! For you!”

Wang Teng looked at the two siblings in front of him, nodded, and said, his eyes full of pity.

“Thank you, benefactor, thank you, benefactor!”

Although Li Yu desperately craved the Beast Milk, he did not pick up the bottle and drink it; instead, he gave the Beast Milk to his sister and repeatedly kowtowed to Wang Teng.

When they were on the verge of starvation, helpless and alone, Wang Teng gave them Beast Milk, saving their lives—this was a great kindness.

Soon, the two siblings drank the bottle of Beast Milk clean, one sip at a time.

Under the effect of the Beast Milk, their bodies not only fully recovered their strength but also became stronger.

“Thank you, benefactor! Thank you, benefactor!”

The two siblings felt the changes in their bodies and kowtowed to Wang Teng again.

“Get up! On your way to Ancient Wind City, did you pick up anything?”

Wang Teng asked directly.

“Yes! I did pick up something on the way!”

“At that time, I saw this stone was peculiar, so I picked it up casually!”

Upon hearing this, Li Yu immediately took out a stone emitting a faint red glow.

“We are fated to meet! This stone is useful to me, so I will take it.”

“Now I give you two choices. First, if you are willing to stay in Ancient Wind City, I will buy you a small courtyard to work for me!”

“Second, if you have relatives and want to go to them, I will give you a sum of money and hire someone to send you to your relatives!”

Wang Teng said.

“Benefactor, we no longer have any relatives. My sister and I are willing to stay in Ancient Wind City!”

Li Yu made his choice without hesitation.

“Alright, come with me!”

Wang Teng nodded.

He directly bought the small courtyard next to his own house for Li Yu and his sister to live in.

Then Wang Teng removed the courtyard wall, expanding the courtyard.

Previously, the small courtyard contained thunderstruck wood, a fragment of the undying medicine, and also an Ancient Remnant Species Wind Thunder Eagle.

Then Wang Teng still had to buy Eight-Treasure Chicken, and the items in the small courtyard would increase.

Now was a good opportunity to expand it.

“Xing’er, from now on, add two more sets of bowls and chopsticks for meals! Also, the young Wind Thunder Eagle and some chores in the courtyard will be entrusted to Li Yu!”

Wang Teng said directly.

“Yes, Young Master!”

Xing’er nodded.

“Oh, this is a Cultivation Technique, both you and your sister can Cultivate it!”

Wang Teng took out a Cultivation Technique he had obtained from someone else’s Storage Ring and handed it to Li Yu.

“Ah? Cu… Cultivation Technique…?”

Li Yu looked at the Cultivation Technique in his hand, his expression excited, his body trembling slightly.

As a peasant child from the lowest class, being able to eat a full meal every day was his greatest luxury.

As for Cultivating? For him, it was a luxury, a dream that was out of reach.

He had never imagined that he would have a day when he could Cultivate.

“Young Master’s great kindness! My sister and I, Li Yu, have no way to repay it!”

“From now on, Li Yu is willing to go through fire and water for Young Master, without hesitation!”

Li Yu’s eyes were red, his words resounding.

At this moment, a genuine urge to die for Young Master Wang Teng truly arose within him.

“Alright, you two go take a bath first! Later, let Xing’er take you to buy some new clothes!”

Wang Teng patted Li Yu’s shoulder and said.

After arranging things for Li Yu and his sister, Wang Teng headed to Jufengyuan Restaurant… Jufengyuan Restaurant stood at the most bustling intersection in the South City. The two-story pavilion with green bricks and dark tiles had upturned eaves, and eight large red lanterns hung beneath the eaves. On either side of the vermilion gate hung black lacquered golden plaques, inscribed with the three bold characters “Jufengyuan.”

Two stone lions also stood on either side, guarding against the coming and going commotion.

The bluestone path in front of the door was polished smooth by pedestrians, and horse-drawn carriages often stopped there. The waiters, dressed in blue short jackets with white towels draped over their shoulders, smilingly led guests inside.

When Wang Teng arrived at Jufengyuan Restaurant, a waiter immediately came forward with a smile.

“Please come in, esteemed guest!”

The waiter said respectfully.

“I won’t go in. I heard that your Jufengyuan recently received a batch of Red Feather Chickens, is that right?”

Wang Teng asked directly.

“Uh…! To be honest, esteemed guest, there are only a hundred newly arrived Red Feather Chickens! And they are all booked!”

“If the esteemed guest wants some, you can place a deposit now, and when the next batch of Red Feather Chickens arrives, you can come and pick them up!”

Upon hearing this, the waiter immediately said with a apologetic expression.

Jufengyuan was the largest restaurant in Ancient Wind City, and only Jufengyuan had Red Feather Chickens, so guests often wanted to buy Red Feather Chickens, which were in short supply.

Therefore, if one wanted to buy Red Feather Chickens, they had to reserve them in advance.

“Not a single one?”

Wang Teng directly took out a gold ingot and asked.

This immediately made the waiter’s eyes widen.

“Esteemed guest! This gold ingot is worth three years of my wages, but to buy Red Feather Chickens, you need Spirit Stones!”

The waiter said with difficulty.

“Who said I was going to buy Red Feather Chickens with gold?”

“Let me go in and pick a Red Feather Chicken, and this gold ingot is yours!”

“As for the Red Feather Chicken, I will pay three times the price!”

Wang Teng directly placed the gold ingot in the waiter’s hand.

Money makes the world go round; he didn’t believe that with money, he couldn’t buy a Red Feather Chicken…
