The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2431: New enemy (II)

Cain’s eyes narrowed instantly.

If not for his overwhelming speed and the innate domain surrounding him, that attack would have cleaved straight through his face—a strike that could have been fatal.

This body was monstrously powerful, surpassing his Primordial Body from the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, and maybe even overtaking his Crimson World’s body. However, it lacked one crucial advantage: supernatural regeneration.

A direct hit to a vital organ was dangerous.

Very dangerous.

”How did his power rise so suddenly?” Cain wondered, his gaze locking onto the Aztorus King.

At once, he noticed something wrong.

Eonar’s eyes were foggy, unfocused, as if his consciousness were being suppressed. Cain’s attention shifted immediately to the weapon in his hand.

The Blade of the End of Times trembled violently.

Then, spikes erupted from the weapon’s surface, driving themselves deep into Eonar’s flesh.

The next instant, pulses of dark power surged outward from the sword, flooding into Eonar’s body. The energy flowed through his veins like liquid night, sealing wounds, reinforcing muscles, and even restoring his crippled left arm—the one that had been nearly destroyed by the metallic cubes’ blasts.

That arm reformed, now coated in dark plasma that crackled with destructive force, radiating power far greater than before.

”ARGHHHH!”

Eonar screamed in agony as the eye embedded in the sword’s handle snapped shut—only to reappear a heartbeat later beside his Ancestor Eye.

The eye glowed with a dark and ominous light as a burst of soul force emerged from it. The weapon was consuming the soul of Eonar to enhance his power.

When the transformation ended, Eonar turned toward Cain.

His natural eyes were empty, lifeless.

But the dark eye on his forehead burned with unrestrained killing intent and ravenous hunger.

”Interesting,” Cain murmured.

Despite the unmistakable danger, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

The Blade of the End of Times was clearly an extraordinary weapon.

And Cain wanted it.

The two stared at each other for a single breath.

Then they vanished.

They reappeared between heartbeats, colliding at terrifying speed.

Cain immediately noticed the faint mantle of force enveloping Eonar’s body, barely a few centimeters thick. Yet despite its thinness, the temporal barrier successfully resisted a significant portion of Cain’s own domain pressure.

The sword flashed toward Cain’s neck.

Fast.

But Cain was faster.

He slipped past the blade by a hair’s breadth and retaliated with a brutal punch aimed directly at Eonar’s face.

If the weapon was the true threat, then destroying the vessel was the logical path. Once that was done, the sword could be sealed.

”BOOM!”

The impact unleashed a violent shockwave that tore through the sky.

Cain’s raw strength alone was not extraordinary—but speed and momentum transformed the blow into something devastating. Eonar’s neck twisted violently, yet unlike before, he was not sent flying.

Cain’s eyes narrowed.

The sword had enhanced Eonar’s resilience as well.

There was no time to dwell on it.

The blade counterattacked instantly.

Once again, Cain dodged the edge of the weapon by less than a centimeter and struck back.

Again, it wasn’t enough.

Eonar remained standing, allowing the sword to continue its relentless assault.

The battle became a deadly dance.

Cain struck. Dodged. Countered. Evaded.

Every blow landed within the narrowest margins of time, each dodge executed at the final possible instant. Sparks of power and fractured space rippled with every exchange.

Yet Cain’s expression grew sharper.

There was still a problem.

His strikes lacked killing power.

Before invoking his Ancestor Power, Cain decided to test another approach.

As the sword swept toward him once more, Cain twisted his body at the last instant. His entire frame rotated in perfect alignment, channeling rotational force into his arm.

The air screamed.

A vortex formed around his fist, spiraling violently as he drove the punch forward.

The blow slammed into Eonar’s chest.

This time, Eonar endured it—at least at first.

But just as the sword began to rise again, his body trembled violently.

A mouthful of blood burst from his lips.

A wide smile spread across Cain’s face.

Rotation.

It didn’t merely increase power—it granted penetration.

The force of the strike bypassed external defenses and ravaged Eonar’s internal organs, inflicting catastrophic internal damage.

The Scarlet King didn’t stop.

Each successive strike carried a monstrous rotational force, his body flowing seamlessly from one attack to the next. Damage accumulated rapidly, shaking Eonar’s body so violently that counterattacks became impossible.

The dark eye on Eonar’s forehead burned with hatred and rage, desperate to kill Cain—but the vessel was failing. The Aztorus King’s life force flickered unstably, injuries piling up faster than they could be repaired.

Cain’s smile widened further.

He had found a solution to his lack of killing power.

Then—

His eyes narrowed sharply.

A figure blasted toward him at extreme speed.

Half of the newcomer’s body was scorched black, flesh torn and charred. Yet dark scales now covered that ruined half, radiating waves of blistering heat.

”He survived—and he can still fight,” Cain noted calmly.

”Impressive.”

Of course, the one joining the fight was no other than Lortar.

The Redirection had wounded him severely, but not enough to remove him from the battle.

The moment the Kalous King entered Cain’s innate domain, his speed plummeted.

But instantly, the dark eye on Eonar’s forehead flared.

The sword devoured the soul of its vessel further, releasing a sky-blue mantle of temporal force that surged outward and wrapped around Lortar.

The effect was immediate.

Lortar’s speed stabilized.

Cain’s domain was partially neutralized.

Lortar knew the truth—control now rested with the Blade of the End of Times.

And he didn’t care. After all, if Eonar perished at the end of this battle, everything would be perfect.

A savage grin spread across his face as he felt his full strength return.

With the temporal sword and the flaming halberd striking together, Cain was forced onto the defensive.

He had no time to counter.

His figure blurred as he dodged at extreme speed, slipping between the converging weapons by impossibly narrow margins.

Then—

The red eye on Cain’s forehead flared to life.
