The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1916: Resurrección Innate Ability

A wide smile appeared on Hermes’ face as he watched his colossal dagger close in on Cain. Victory felt certain. Yet, instead of the anticipated explosion or the shattering sound of bones, the image of Cain faded away silently—as if he had never been there.

”An afterimage?” gasped Hermes, the Lord of the Last Step, disbelief flooding his senses.

”You are too slow.”

Those simple words, spoken calmly yet dripping with terrifying confidence, filled Marcus with a primal dread. His heart skipped a beat as he realized Cain was already positioned directly before him, his body enveloped in blazing crimson energy. Marcus’ Liberación Total form was gargantuan, the size of a world itself. Next to him, Cain appeared insignificant—a mere speck of dust. Yet, it was that tiny figure, no larger than a couple of meters, that sent chills through Marcus’ enormous frame.

Cain raised his fist, an action that seemed trivial yet instantly caused massive fissures in the fabric of reality around him. A fierce, swirling storm erupted around Cain’s clenched fist, rapidly devouring every trace of surrounding energy, gathering it into a singularity of devastating kinetic power. Within moments, his fist radiated energy so dense that an event horizon formed, bending reality itself around its core.

Cain’s voice resonated clearly, dominating every soul present, ”Resurrección Innate Ability—Fist Variant.”

Marcus’ instincts screamed in panic, urging him to retreat immediately. He attempted to pull away, but Cain was faster. With speed surpassing comprehension, Cain’s glowing fist thrust forward, carrying power strong enough to pulverize entire worlds.

”Imperial Apex Smash!”

A deafening explosion ripped through the sky as Cain’s human-sized fist collided fiercely with Marcus’ colossal chest, creating an eruption of red energy visible across continents.

”BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!”

Marcus, the mighty Lord of the Last Step, violently spat mouthfuls of blood as his enormous form hurtled uncontrollably across the highest sky. Just as he desperately tried to regain control of his battered body, the lingering energy inside him began to twist and distort, forming a strange, glowing rune. Before Marcus could even comprehend what was happening, the rune detonated again.

”BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!”

Marcus’ disbelief was overwhelming as he once again found himself catapulted helplessly through the skies, coughing out more blood with each passing second. Unfortunately, the nightmare was far from over. The remnant streams of energy converged again, merging to form another weaker rune. It detonated yet again, delivering Marcus directly into the Golden Lake below with cataclysmic force.

Silence followed—an absolute, oppressive silence—as everyone across the Everlife Continent stared in sheer awe and horror at Cain. The power unleashed by the Scarlet King had shattered their understanding of what was possible. A single punch had effortlessly tossed a Middle Archdeity-ranked Master in his Liberación Form through the air as if he were a mere doll. Even more terrifying was the nature of Cain’s attack, seemingly sentient, expanding and multiplying its damage on its own.

Cain stood silently suspended in the air, looking down contemplatively at his own fist, genuinely astonished at his new strength. He had expected Resurrección to be powerful due to its demanding activation requirements, but this power far exceeded even his imagination.

”This body embodies the perfect fusion of all my paths and powers,” he whispered softly, as if explaining to himself. ”No longer is there a boundary between my Inner Universe, my Astral Supremacy Star, or my Alter-Ego. Even my Primordial Inheritance has merged seamlessly into this new, flawless form.”

The physical enhancement Resurrección provided elevated Cain’s battle prowess to a terrifyingly high level—so high that he had become faster than Marcus, an Archdeity renowned throughout the Everstrife Empyrean World for unmatched speed.

Yet, Cain understood clearly that the true essence of Resurrección’s power lay not merely in physical strength or speed, but in the newly awakened Innate Abilities born from this perfect fusion of his paths and inheritances. These Innate Abilities were living manifestations of his power, surpassing anything he had previously imagined.

Cain’s mind brimmed with curiosity and anticipation—there were so many things he wanted to explore about his newfound abilities, countless avenues of power he desired to test. But he understood perfectly that time was a luxury he couldn’t afford. The full vitality and psychic energy of the Everlife Continent was channeling through his body, and even now, he barely maintained the required level to sustain this form. Pressure accumulated rapidly within his mind and soul, a ticking clock counting down to disaster.

Sharpening his focus, Cain’s eyes flashed with cold killing intent as he turned toward his remaining foes—Divine Calamity and World Breaker. Moving thousands of times faster than the speed of light, his figure blurred through the fabric of space itself, instantly targeting the Archdeity famed for monstrous physical strength.

Azan’s massive body trembled uncontrollably as Cain materialized before him, terror exploding within his heart. Desperately, Azan raised his four remaining arms, merging his weapons to form a colossal sword radiating enough momentum to cleave apart galaxies. With all his might, Azan swung the giant blade downward, aiming to annihilate Cain with a single, unstoppable strike.

Yet, Cain did not dodge. Instead, he calmly raised his right hand, condensing scarlet energy into a blade-like crescent on the tip of his finger.

”Resurrección Innate Ability—Edge Variant.”

Cain spoke casually, as though simply naming a trivial technique, and then lightly flicked his index finger upwards, executing a virtually invisible slash.

”Sundering Sovereign Slash.”

”ZNNNNNNNN!”

A sharp, terrifyingly pure sound filled the air, and to everyone’s disbelief, Azan’s colossal blade—infused with enough power to destroy entire cosmos—split cleanly in two, passing harmlessly by Cain on either side.

Azan was powerless, unable to react as his ruined weapon drifted harmlessly past his foe. His despair deepened instantly as Cain appeared directly before him once again, his expression emotionless. Cain raised his five fingers, poised to unleash a devastating barrage of attacks.

”ZNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!”

Once again, the dreadful sound echoed through the skies, filling every observer’s heart with dread as countless invisible cuts instantly materialized across Azan’s massive form, slicing him relentlessly and mercilessly.
