The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 996: New ability Chapter 996: New ability “BOOM!” “BOOOM!” “BOOM!” “BOOM!” “BOOOM!” “BOOM!” “BOOM!” “BOOOM!” “BOOM!” Cain attempted to push his focus and perception to the limit to find the woman, but the explosions echoing across the sky did not make things easier.

Rellin conjured dozens of fireballs and summoned massive snakes of fire as he clashed with the mage from the Dark Brotherhood.

The enemy was a master of ice spells, and while his attacks lacked explosive might, the ice spears displayed immense speed, and the barriers were incredibly sturdy.

The Duke and the Dark Brotherhood’s mage matched each other’s power, making it impossible to say who would come out on top.

Cain knew he could not allow Rellin to die.

If a Duke were to perish under his watch, there was no way the rulers of the Trinity Kingdom would trust him enough to hand over the key to the Legendary Realm.

In the worst-case scenario, they might say he was in cahoots with the Dark Brotherhood and hunt him down.

However, no matter how much Cain wanted to help Rellin, he felt the presence of the Sky Lord nearing.

He needed to kill the woman before doing anything else.

Coldness and determination appeared on Cain’s face as the power of the Eye of Gluttony burst, unleashing a monstrous devouring force that consumed the energy around him, increasing the might of his own energy pool and making the mantle of lightning-infused fire burst with power.

A sharp light appeared in the eyes of the hidden Sky Lord as she saw the young man’s strange and powerful ability, but the killing intent in her soul only grew stronger as she continued to approach silently.

The woman waited for her chance to strike, and when she saw how the warrior flashed back into the fray, she channeled all her power into the dark daggers in her hands, ready to strike.

Cain noticed the warrior dashing toward him like a bull, and his instincts warned that the assassin would strike at any moment, but he did not lose focus, continuing to raise his energy pool while grabbing his sword with both hands.

Just as the warrior was less than one hundred meters from Cain, the Sky Lord assassin made her move, attacking from the opposite direction.

Her daggers were aimed at the back of the young man’s head.

Cain’s eyes were laser-focused, and as soon as he felt the duo dive toward him, he pushed his sword down as if burying it into the sky with all his strength.

“Stormfire Tempest.” A massive storm of lightning and fire that engulfed the sky emerged from the sword, blasting in all directions with monstrous power capable of incredible destruction.

The Sky Master warrior and Sky Lord assassin were too close to dodge, and the blasts of destruction struck both point blank.

The man raised his shield at the last second, trying to defend himself, but the power of the flames and lightning shattered his arm, sending the shield away before engulfing his figure.

Impressively, the assassin fared better than the warrior, as a sky-blue shield appeared around her figure, protecting her from the blast of fire and lightning.

Cracks appeared around it, but it seemed it would be able to hold on.

A small smile appeared on the woman as she saw that her ability resisted that destructive attack, but before she could get too happy, a figure bathed in lightning and fire flashed toward her.

Before the assassin could do anything, Cain’s lightning sword pierced through the cracked shield, burying itself into the woman’s chest.

Cain did not know what kind of unique abilities existed in this world, so he chose the most overbearing method to end the woman’s life.

Without hesitation, Cain grabbed the Sky Lord assassin’s neck, and the power of the Eye of Gluttony burst.

Terror appeared in the woman’s eyes as she felt the devouring power coursing through her entire existence.

The sword had damaged most of her internal organs and severed her spine, so she could do nothing but watch as her Spirit Force left her energy pool.

The Eye of Gluttony devoured the modified Spirit Force of the Sky Lord assassin like a ravenous beast, and in less than a minute, not even a drop of liquid was inside the woman’s energy pool.

Immediately, her entire body trembled, aging decades in seconds before the light in her eyes faded, perishing.

All the devoured energy coursed through the Eye of Gluttony before reaching Cain’s energy pool, allowing him to replenish all the energy lost during the fight.

There was also a deep flow of information showing broken memories of the woman from the last couple of months.

It seemed that the Eye of Gluttony had retained its memory-stealing abilities.

However, that was not all it did, and shock appeared in Cain’s eyes as he felt a new stream of golden energy fuse into his Spirit Force.

It was not the first time Cain had seen that type of golden energy since the same one had appeared when he reached Level 18 and gave birth to the Eye of Gluttony.

Yet this new golden energy was devoured from the Sky Lord’s energy pool, and as it fused into his Spirit Force, he felt access to a new power.

Although the desire to try this power was immense, Cain did not lose focus, and sharpness returned to his eyes as he turned his focus on the last member of the Dark Brotherhood’s group.

The ice mage was shocked to see the horrible death of the Sky Lord assassin, as the woman was known for her survival skills.

Immediately, terror assaulted his heart when the young man turned his eyes on him.

The Dark Brotherhood’s mage immediately attempted to escape, but the two giant fire snakes from Duke Rellin clashed with him, forcing the man to erect large ice barriers to protect himself.

“BOOOOMMMMMM!” “BOOOOMMMMMM!” Two large explosions echoed across the sky, and while the ice shield managed to protect the mage, the next second a lightning sword pierced through his chest.
