My Youth Began With Him

“I don’t think so… Miss Han looks smart.”“Smart? My ass! She’s a bonehead.” Su Yu railed.

“What happened?”

“I offered to bring her to meet the media, but she refused me.”

“Really?” An suddenly felt Miss Han was intriguing.

“If she wasn’t recommended to me by Mian, do you think I’d offer this opportunity to her? Forget it. When Mian asks about it, I’ll tell her the girl refused to take the opportunity. I held my end of the bargain anyway.”

“This girl has a personality. Haha.”

“I wonder why she refused to go. If she doesn’t want to succeed, why did she come to Imperial Star to become a trainee?” Su Yu was puzzled.

“Maybe she has her own plans for her career,” An guessed.

“Is she playing coy and trying to draw my attention?” Su Yu picked up his cellphone and smoothed his hair, looking at his own face on the screen narcissistically.

“President Su, I think… you shouldn’t think so.”

“Think what?”

“Think that all the women in the world like you… President Qin doesn’t think like that way.”

“Fuck off. I’m the coolest guy, and all women like me.”

An was exasperated by President Su’s willfulness.

Su Yu didn’t go to the neighboring city but was still worried.

Finally, he sent Qin Chu a WeChat message.

“If Mian is back, please tell me.”

Qin Chu replied with one word instantly, “Okay.”

– In S City –

Qin Chu placed his hand on the back of the cop’s chair as they watched the big screen in the surveillance enter.

“That’s weird. President Qin, we’ve watched it several times now… It seems the van disappeared into thin air. Does the tunnel have another opening?”

Qin Chu had been tracking down the van with the stolen plate, but after the van entered a tunnel, it didn’t show up in the video from the camera at the exit.

“No. Tunnels have solid walls on both sides to reduce the risk of collapsing and can’t have other exits.” Qin Chu ruled out the young cop’s conjecture.

“Then… are they hiding in the tunnel so we can’t track them?”

“No. The inside of the tunnel isn’t safe. They are not stupid and wouldn’t stay inside to be hit by other cars. The human traffickers are very smart; they must have found a way to dodge the police’s tracking.”

“What do we do then?”

The cops felt clueless.

Qin Chu stood up and paced in the surveillance enter as his mind worked swiftly, analyzing the route the human traffickers took.

Suddenly, an idea dawned on him.

“I got it.”

Qin Chu walked back and directed the young cop.

“Pull out the clip at the exit.”

“Okay, President Qin.”

Following his instruction, the young cop pulled out all the vehicles driving out of the exit.

Qin Chu found only seven vehicles matched the time of the van.

He ruled out four sedans since they couldn’t accommodate a van.

He ruled out the bus, too, since it contained rows of seats and had no room for a van.

As for the half-track truck, it couldn’t contain a van, either.

The last vehicle was a long-haul truck with a long trunk designed to transport cars from the north to the south.

“This is it. The van must be hiding in the truck.” Qin Chu pointed at it.
