My Youth Began With Him

“Pff… Qin Chu, are you sick of living? How dare you say that I am off tune?” Huo Mian raised her hand and flicked Qin Chu’s head hard.

“No, I meant that you weren’t off tune even by a little, it’s magical.”

Huo Mian was speechless…

Fine, it wasn’t her fault that she was tone deaf; she had no musical gifts.

She wanted to sing a song to brighten the mood, but it seemed like he didn’t appreciate it…

“Honey.”

“Mhm?”

“Would you give me piggybacks for the rest of our lives?” Suddenly, Huo Mian asked in a melancholic tone.

Qin Chu’s body froze for a second. He stopped in his footsteps and said, “I would if you want me to.”

“Then I’ll eat more and get heavier, I’ll see if you can still carry me then,” Huo Mian joked on purpose.

“If I can’t give you a piggyback, I’ll carry you. If I can’t carry you, I’ll lift you…” Qin Chu said as he walked.

Huo Mian stopped talking, quietly lying on Qin Chu’s back and taking in the beauty of the moment.

She loved Qin Chu, she loved him more than anything, and she really cherished the time they had together.

However, she always felt uneasy in her heart, because she didn’t feel like a lucky person.

She never thought that she was someone who could easily obtain happiness, so whenever she was the happiest, she would worry about losing it.

Perhaps it was uncalled for worry, but Huo Mian always felt insecure…

The more she thought about it, the more scared she got, so she held Qin Chu tightly with her hands.

“Honey, are we there yet?”

It had been a long time and Huo Mian felt Qin Chu’s footsteps slow down as if he was reaching his physical limits.

“We’re here.” After speaking, Qin Chu slowly lowered himself and dropped Huo Mian onto the ground.

When she saw everything in front of her, she felt like she was dreaming… It was because everything seemed too unreal.

Qin Chu waved his hand, and the guards waiting by the door immediately opened the gates. Looking out was a five-hundred-meter-long grass field.

In the center was a circular fountain. When the fountain sprayed water, it followed a rainbow-like curve. Added onto it were seven light rays resembling a real rainbow. It shone through the field and the fountain. In the middle was a huge castle, or more correctly, a mansion styled like a castle.

It was three stories tall, but its width and length was even greater and built like a five-star hotel.

By both sides of the door were two shallow swimming pools, and at the center, there was a wooden staircase leading up to the mansion’s entrance.

It was luxurious and atmospheric, quite magical…

Huo Mian had never seen a house with such character, and she was stunned as soon as she saw it.

“Honey, what’s this?” Huo Mian looked at Qin Chu with an inconceivable look.

“Your birthday present.”

“It’s too luxurious…”

Qin Chu held Huo Mian’s hand, led her to the door, and took out a card and a set of keys from his inner pocket.

“It’s registered under your name, do you remember when we got our license, I told you that the South Hill Manor was under renovation so we’re currently living at Imperial Park?”

“Mhm, I remember…” Huo Mian vaguely remembered this, but she thought it was just something that Qin Chu casually said. Updated b.y b o x n o v e l. com

She didn’t know that there was actually a South Hill Manor.

“But… it’s such a big project! How much money and labor did you use?” Huo Mian couldn’t help but ask.

“I began building this house two years ago. When I was still in the States, my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I drew the blueprints and told him to build a house like this at South Hill. When I got back from the States, the house was already built. I spent four months decorating the interiors and finished it right before your birthday. It counts as fulfilling one of my dreams.”

“It must’ve costed a lot of money…” When Huo Mian looked at the big project, she felt hurt by how expensive it was.

“It wasn’t that much, less than four billion yuan in total,” Qin Chu said word for word.

“Four… billion, that’s crazy…” Huo Mian thought it was just too outrageous to spend four billion yuan on a house.

“Let’s go in and take a look, I think you’ll love it.”

Huo Mian carefully opened the door with the card and key and walked in.

She was again flabbergasted by what she saw…
