My Youth Began With Him

“Wasn’t Imperial Star supposed to keep this quiet? How did the reporters find out?” Qin Chu felt like something was off.

“I bet someone did it on purpose… but now’s not the time to think about that, I wonder how Imperial Star’s PR department is going to deal with this. Ni Yang’s so popular right now, I can’t imagine what this would do to him…”

Huo Mian was rattled by this news, but the problem was that Ni Yang wasn’t managed by GK, so Huo Mian and Qin Chu couldn’t step up. At the end of the day, Ni Yang was Imperial Star’s artist.

Huo Mian quickly called Chen Jie and consoled her; she also told the latter to keep an eye on future developments.

The next morning, everyone woke up to a slur of major outlets reporting about Ni Yang’s relationship.

The scariest thing about being a celebrity was that every single detail of one’s life was magnified and blown out of proportion. Therefore, crazy fans immediately began digging up Chen Jie’s information as soon as they heard of her and Ni Yang’s relationship.

They found everything – her resident ID number, workplace, past schools, and her parents’ occupations.

When Huo Mian went to work that morning, the hospital entrance was blocked by dozens of reporters and crazy fans.

Chen Jie wasn’t at work at that time; Huo Mian arrived early because she had a morning meeting.

An hour and a half later, a nurse from another department ran up to Huo Mian anxiously. “Deputy Director, something happened to Chen Jie…”

“What happened to her?” Huo Mian jumped up with a worried expression on her face.

“The reporters blocked her way when she was coming in for work and she was attacked and injured by the fans… There were a lot of people, and I don’t know what’s happening over there, what should we do?”

Upon hearing this, Huo Mian lost her cool and ran for the door. She commanded the nurse, “Tell security to come with me…”

When Huo Mian arrived at the hospital entrance, Chen Jie was surrounded by countless people. Fans were hitting her with raw eggs and water bottles, leaving a poor girl like Chen Jie no choice but to huddle up in a corner helplessly.

Immediately angered, Huo Mian ran up to the crowd and shoved them aside violently. “Move, move!”

After breaking through all the people, she helped Chen Jie up and covered the latter’s head with her hands.

“Jie, are you alright?”

“Chief, I’m fine…” Chen Jie replied, her voice shaking.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay home today?” Huo Mian looked down at Chen Jie, feeling bad.

“You have an operation this afternoon and I wanted to help you prepare, so…”

“You didn’t have to do that…”

“Chen Jie, you’re shameless! Give Ni Yang back to us!” a fan cursed mindlessly.

“Chen Jie, who do you think you are! You’re not good enough for Ni Yang, you’re just a frog girl who wants to be with the prince! You’re disgusting, take a look at yourself in the mirror! I can’t believe you would seduce my man! I’m going to kill you, b!tch!”

“She’s right, I never thought that Ni Yang would date someone as ugly as you are! Are you spreading rumors on purpose and using our Ni Yang to get famous?”

The fans’ words grew gradually more vicious, and their emotions were soon uncontrollable.

Suddenly, another bottle of water flew at Chen Jie’s head, but she had lost all instinct to duck. Luckily, Huo Mian’s hands were fast enough and she caught the bottle before it struck Chen Jie.
