Child of Destiny

Chapter 1940: The Wanderer and the Junior Dragoness

……

“HAHAHA! Do you think that you can stop me with just the two of you?” Butcher laughed maniacally while repeatedly blocking the attacks from Shiella and David.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

“Hmph!” David retreated repeatedly, doing his best to dodge all the incoming bloody flashes of light heading his way.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The floating talismans in the air shone bright as if they were bright stars in the sky. A moment later, they linked with one another, seemingly forming a constellation.

Following the path they had created, David’s footwork adjusted while moving. It was as if he was teleporting to different talismans while dodging the flashes of light that were trying to dominate his surroundings.

Whoosh!

In the meantime, Shiella took advantage of the opening that David had created to get near Butcher.

Clenching her fist tight, which was covered in multicolored flames, she suddenly punched forward while also releasing all the accumulated energies at the same time.

‘True Nine Dragon Arts: Twin Dragons – Annihilation Fist’

Roar!

Two dragons burst forth right after she thrust her fist forward. These dragons intertwined while moving forward and opened their jaws wide, biting on their target.

Boom!

Butcher was pushed back while blocking the twin dragons with his free arm. He let them bite on him, which seemed to have no effect against his tough skin.

“This is barely even a tickle,” he smirked before waving his arm and destroying the two dragons.

“Is that so? Then how about this?” said David while raising his left hand and pointing his middle and index fingers upwards.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

‘Myriad Manifestation Method: Shaman King – The Storm Sword Array’

Butcher then noticed that he was currently in the middle of paper talismans that were releasing intense light and crackling lightning.

They then turned into lightning swords that were pointing at him. They had formed an offensive array before simultaneously flying at him.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

“Still far from being enough!” laughed Butcher as he gripped the huge butcher knife in his hand and channeled his Qi into it before slashing with it.

Shing!

A flash of crimson light then flew out of his knife and annihilated all the incoming lightning swords.

But right after those lightning swords disappeared, another set of swords took their places and surrounded him once again.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

However, instead of lightning, these swords were made of ice.

‘Glacial Goddess Method: Heart of Ice – Rain of Swords’

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The swords then started falling from the sky and headed toward Butcher, who was still in an awkward position due to his previous actions.

However, he remained unfazed despite how threatening these ice swords were, particularly the cold Qi that they possessed.

This cold Qi seemed to be capable of threatening him despite the overwhelming difference in their strength.

“This cold Qi. It seems to be on the same scale as the Springfield’s Imperial Flame,” he mumbled before releasing a powerful burst of energy that swept through everything, destroying the ice swords in the process.

David and Shiella did not dare to pause, afraid that they would lose the initiative and fall into a passive situation, which would be very dangerous for them.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

A cluster of paper talismans gathered in eight different directions before transforming into magical rods.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Then they fell and planted themselves on the ground, forming a mystic formation that surrounded Butcher. They released a blinding light that rose to the sky before linking with one another.

Swoosh!

A moment later, a series of runes suddenly appeared on the ground, completing the mystic formation.

‘Myriad Manifestation Method: Shaman King – The Eighth Constellation Array’

WHOOSH!

Immediately after, Butcher felt a heavy pressure that was suddenly pressed on him. This then restrained his movements.

“Argh!”

Butcher released a battle cry while trying to break free from these restraints.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

However, multiple paper talismans suddenly stuck to different parts of his body, wrapping themselves around him tightly.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

They even summoned a group of golden chains that came out from the ground and tightly wrapped around his limbs and torso while also dragging him down.

Whoosh!

These restraints might not be able to fully stop Butcher, but delaying his movements for a brief moment should not be that much of a problem.

These couple of seconds that David had brought were more than enough for Shiella to launch a powerful attack.

Whoosh!

Shiella leaped into the air while also rotating her hands toward opposite directions. These actions were accompanied by the flow of her Natural Forces that had opposite attributes, the Flame Emperor Force and the Ice Spirit Force.

Following the movements of her hands, the two forces flowed inwards and spun like a whirlpool before converging at a single point.

This ‘point’ turned into a pill-like object that contained an overwhelming power.

Butcher could tell that this power was more than enough to hurt him once it exploded on his body.

After all, the combination of two opposing powers could produce an overwhelming chemical reaction that carried a very destructive power.

This technique was something that Shiella had created after studying the Yin-Yang Arts from Professor Plum and the insights that she had gained from the Yin-Yang Cultivation Arts that she had gotten from Uno previously.

With a gentle gesture, Shiella sent the glowing ‘pill’ toward Butcher, who was already on the verge of breaking free from David’s technique.

‘Song of the Ice and Fire: Aurora Blast’

BOOM!

A massive explosion immediately followed when the ‘pill’ collided with Butcher’s body. This explosion shook the entire place, even creating an intense earthquake that spread to the surrounding area.

But despite all these, Shiella and David did not dare to lower their guards because they both knew that this was far from enough to take down a peak Domain Realm Expert.

Whoosh!

As expected, there was a sudden movement that immediately followed.

Swoosh!

The cloud of smoke that the explosion had created was suddenly separated, followed by the appearance of Butcher, who suddenly rushed toward her.

His current appearance was far from being tidy. His outer appearance was quite a mess, especially when his clothes were completely torn and shredded. Aside from his pair of pants that now looked like a tattered pair of shorts, he was not wearing anything else.

His skin also showed a mixture of being scorched and frozen, which signified the effects of the previous explosion on his body.

But it was only his outer appearance that looked like a mess; it was far from harming him seriously. It was obvious that he was still relatively fine despite his unkept appearance.

Whoosh!

He appeared before Shiella in an instant while dragging his huge butcher knife behind him, leaving a sharp flash of light that cut through the air.

The space seemed to have contracted when he appeared, preventing Shiella from moving.

Shing!

In the next moment, Butcher suddenly swung his knife down, cutting through the space and seemingly planning to sever Shiella’s arms with it.

He might want to avoid killing her, but that did not mean that he could not harm her. Since they were challenging him, he had to show these two brats how scary a Martial Artist of his level is.

Shiella could not help but feel pressured when Butcher stood before her. Her body seemed to refuse to move due to the overwhelming presence of a peak Domain Realm Expert.

Based on the trajectory of the knife, she knew that she was most likely going to lose an arm once it landed.

Swoosh!

But before that butcher knife could even fall at her, a dashing figure suddenly appeared between her and Butcher after breaking through the solidified space that the latter had created.

Looking at this person’s back, Shiella felt like an overwhelming power was pouring into her body.

Fully trusting David, she recollected herself and prepared her next move.

Bang!

Squatting her hips a little, she winded her chest and pulled her arms back while a flood of energy gathered on each of them.

The right fist was suddenly set ablaze by a multicolored flame with different properties, while her left fist glowed intensely with a cold light and the element of frost.

She continued to accumulate more power and channeled it into her fist while waiting for David’s signal.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

…

At the same time, David, who had just appeared before her, quickly opened the canopy of his umbrella and swiftly raised it to block the incoming attack.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The Mentalism Runes that were drawn on the surface of this umbrella suddenly moved and swiftly connected before forming a mysterious array.

David then flicked his fingers and rotated his wrist, making the umbrella spin rapidly, activating the formation.

WHOOSH!

It was also at this moment that the butcher knife suddenly fell.

BOOM!

The impact was so strong that it created another massive explosion and intense earthquake. The ground even caved in and created a huge crater right after the impact.

“Urgh!”

Cough! Cough!

David could not help but release a painful groan while trying his best to withstand the strains on his muscles after forcefully blocking a direct attack from a peak Domain Realm Expert.

Cough! Cough!

He then coughed up some blood, signifying that he had suffered some serious injury from that attack.

He then urged his mental energy to assist him in healing his injury. He then stepped to the side while spinning to reveal Shiella, who had already accumulated a huge amount of energy in both of her fists.

Right after that, she swiftly stepped forward and quickly threw a consecutive punch, revealing all the accumulated energy that she had gathered.

‘Song of the Ice and Fire: Roar of the Twin Dragons’

Roar! Roar!

Two huge dragons came out of her fist; one was made of multicolored fire, while the other was formed by black and white ice.

They rushed forward and opened their mouths, devouring Butcher, who was standing right before them.

BOOM!

……
