Child of Destiny

Chapter 1483: An Incoming Surge

...

As the fame of Uno spread around the virtual game community after his victory over Dragon God Arthur, the people from different top guilds and powerful organizations started to launch an all-out investigation about him.

But they also knew that it would be hard given that Uno had thoroughly prepared to hide his identity.

Even though they had seen a lot of similarities in his style with a couple of individuals, they had also realized that some of those styles came from a variety of people. The only one that they had the greatest suspicion of was the Mana Manipulation, which greatly resembled Shinʼs Eclipse Wielding.

But even that did not fully convince them due to various reasons. One of them was Shinʼs Primordial Lightning which he had used during his most recent battle against Ashura. This signified that Shin had upgraded that combat technique and mana manipulation to a certain degree that it had transformed the techniques greatly.

Moreover, there were a few more experts who recently appeared in the circle and used similar techniques. People thought that they were copying the signature technique of Battle God Sickarius due to his recently growing fame. But, at the same time, they had also made a few modifications to the technique to make them somewhat unique in certain ways.

It was the same for the Eclipse Wielding that Uno was using as it was more like an upgraded version of the previous, which was also true.

Aside from that, it was also clear that Uno had better control over these techniques as his energy control was close to the perfected Sword Aura of a Swordsman rather than the Qi technique of a Martial Artist.

The only clue that these people had in them was Arthurʼs potential connection with the mysterious Evil God as they had agreed to duel.

…

In the next few days, Arthur could be found training hard both in the real world and inside the game.

Outside, he was doing his best to awaken the new powers that he just gained and trying to gain perfect control over it. Unlike in the game, he could not summon that ʼfeelingʼ he had experienced in the real world.

He had yet to fully grasp his version of the Natural State and struggled to manifest those powers in the real world. He had to keep on using it inside the game to familiarize himself with the ʼfeelingʼ before trying it in the real world.

At the same time, he was also trying to wield both his Imperial Flame and Divine Lightning without affecting each other. Doing such a thing put quite a toll on both his mind and body as the two powers were so strong that they could crush his foundation if handled poorly.

Nathan had to oversee his training every time to make sure that there would be no accidents. At times, Old Samuel also had to take on that role as Nathan still had quite a lot of things that he had to finish in the military, especially since they were tracking down the traces of the Black Serpent Mafia.

Since they had already waged war on the organization publicly, the people knew that something had happened between the Springfield Family and the Black Serpent Mafia. However, the outsiders had yet to realize the real reason for it.

The local government of the Soaring Continent had overlooked it as they were also quite furious about the boldness of the Black Serpent Mafia for attacking the Ace City, particularly trying to steal important data from the World Research Center.

All the organizations around the world had a tacit agreement not to touch the research center as a lot of data and projects were in that place. All of them had contributed to these projects as they had also needed those for their development.

Now that someone had dared to break this unspoken rule, all the organizations around the world would be pointing their daggers at the one responsible for it.

But since the Springfield Family was taking the lead, these cunning wolves decided to stand to the side for a moment and plan to enjoy the show. After all, the Black Serpent Mafia was currently a part of the Shadow Alliance, which was a huge coalition composed of multiple underworld organizations.

These sly organizations were planning to stand on the side and wait for the right time to make their move and pick up some ʼscrapsʼ afterward.

Aside from the Springfield Family, the Magic Ace Academy had also waged war against the Black Serpent Mafia as they were also the ones who suffered the most from the last incident.

The academy had even issued some missions with a lot of benefits and gave a lot of merit points to actively support the students in pursuing the underworld organization, particularly those senior students and the members of the Elite Clubs.

Even the faculty members, who were usually idle most of the time, were now actively hunting for the members of the Black Serpent Mafia. Some of the craziest ones even traveled overseas just to attack some known bases and training camps of the said underworld organization.

This made everyone quite busy.

But aside from this war, there was also the matter concerning the recent tomb exploration that the younger generation had conducted. The discovery that everyone had made from it, shook the entire world.

The matter about the heavenly treasure was so big that everyone wanted to find its location, especially when everyone learned that it was no longer a mere legend as it was confirmed to exist somewhere out there.

And the ones at the center of it were Shiella, Mariel, and Elijah, who were the ones to reach the deepest parts of the tomb.

It was without a doubt that they had discovered something important related to the legendary tree from that place.

Of course, there were a lot of organizations who wanted to interrogate the three, but they did not dare provoke the organizations backing up the three, particularly Shiella and Merial who came from Martial Arts and Mentalists Families with a long history.

The only force that could demand something from these families was the World Government as they were publicly recognized as the most ʼpowerfulʼ organization around the world. That was if they excluded the ʼElderʼs Councilʼ and other mysterious organizations that were still unknown to most of the people.

Regardless, there was no chance that the World Government would let them hog all the information about the legendary tree.

But before they could even make their moves, they received some news from their people that there were two Transcendent Real Experts who visited the Springfield Household, making them have second thoughts.

Even if they had no idea why those apex experts did not dare to provoke those two it could lead to another war, which would greatly affect their plans and hurt their reputation.

It was the same if they tried to provoke the Potter Clan, which was where Mariel belonged.

The only target that the World Government could have been Elijah Knight, but even his background was quite tricky to deal with. The Magic Ace Academy was not that easy to deal with especially when they were hiding a bunch of monsters of their own, some also belonged to the Elderʼs Council.

Whatʼs more, Elijah was also said to be a nephew of Sword Immortal Eugene White, so dealing with him was quite tricky as well.

The World Government had to come up with more than just a trick to get their hands on the information that the three had gotten from the tomb of the ʼKing of Thievesʼ.

But as they were struggling to come up with a plan, the Springfield Family, Potter Clan, and Magic Ace Academy revealed to everyone that the said tomb had also been explored by a variety of underworld organizations.

Moreover, they had also claimed that the tomb of the Blade King was just one of the entrances that were connecting the main tomb to other worlds. They had also said that the underworld organizations had been exploring that place for quite a long time given that they were very familiar with it.

Now that this news was revealed to everyone, the other organizations who had sent their representatives to explore the tomb had no choice but to admit that they had also come up with the same conclusion given the immediate and well-thought ambush that they had suffered right after entering the tomb.

Then information started flooding in, pulling off the attention of these organizations from Shiella, Mariel, and Elijah.

Even if these organizations, particularly the World Government, had realized that this was most likely one of the tricks that the two families and the academy had pulled to save the three, they could not do anything about it since the information was quite legitimate.

They would rather hunt down the underworld organizations and look for the other entrances from different places than provoke the combined forces of these three factions.

Due to this, chaos started spreading in different places.

Faction Wars and skirmishes from different organizations started to break out from other continents, disrupting the peace that everyone had.

Realizing that this would greatly impact the world and its balance, the World Government and the other international organizations had come to an agreement.

They had all decided to bring this ʼwarʼ to another ʼplaceʼ.
