Child of Destiny

Chapter 469: A new Trouble (Quest)

...

Shin and Hanzo were staring blankly at Solus the moment they heard what she just said. Though, it was because of completely different reasons.

Hanzo was stunned because he couldnʼt believe what he just heard while Shin was shocked because of the problem that was about to come due to what she just said.

Solus stared at the two for a moment and waited for them to respond. But when she saw that they remained silent for a couple of minutes, she misunderstood their silence as them not understanding what she meant.

So, she repeated what she said earlier. And this time, she made it a little simpler to make sure that the two would understand what she said. ”As I said, I already prepared everything that is needed for my rebirth.”

”Given the time that Iʼve spent since I discovered such a method, I already created a perfect core for my new vessel. And this Ancient Ruins is going to be the Altar that will help me in the process.”

”Unfortunately, one of the Demon Lordʼs spawns discovered this place earlier than I expected. Even if I managed to send him away, he is still able to steal the core that I created. And because of that, I canʼt have my rebirthing process.”

Shin and Hanzo became even more stunned because of those words since they became even more sure of what they were thinking. The former for being able to see what happened next while the latter was now sure that this Fallen God was more capable than what he thought.

”And that incident led to what was currently happening now,” said Shin to complete the phrase for Solus.

Shin could already see why the Undying Guild was so eager to have this place. And since Solus kept on saying that one of the Demon Lordʼs spawns took her core, Shin was able to figure out the identity of that person. After all, there was only a single person in that Guild who was capable enough to battle a spirit of a Fallen God and was able to survive to tell the tale.

Narrowing the details, Shin was also able to figure out where this special quest was heading. ʼD*mn! I donʼt know whether to become happy since I already know who is my current target, or became dejected because I know that this thing is going to be even more troublesome than what I originally thought.ʼ

The only thing that might help him in this current situation was the involvement of the Central Order. Though, he was also quite suspicious of how they got involved in this incident.

After coming up with his own conclusion, the system notification that Shin was expecting finally sounded on his ears.

*Ding!*

---------------------------

Sweeping his gaze at the details of his new quest, Shin couldnʼt help but frown his eyebrows quite deeply. Because based on his experience, the simpler the quest looked like, the more complicated it actually was.

Moreover, the two phases of the quest were a fancy way of spelling trouble for Shin.

No-…

Not only trouble but a total disaster.

Provoking the Undying Guild to fight him was one thing, but the condition of this quest was a completely different matter.

If what he was thinking was right, the first part of the quest required him to fight Immortal and take the Core from him.

Shin still had a vivid memory of how hard to defeat a clone created by Immortal. He didnʼt know how he managed to survive that fight, but he was sure that he just got lucky during that time.

And right now, his current quest was demanding him to fight Immortal head-on. That thought alone was already giving Shin a lot of headaches.

But that was not the end of it.

Because even if he indeed managed to create a miracle and defeated Immortal in a battle to take the so-called core, there was still the second part of the quest.

A single look at it was more than enough for Shin to clearly see the future. He could already see himself dealing with a large number of Undead and Demonic Monsters who were residing in the vicinity of the Ancient Ruins.

Moreover, there were also the members of the Undying Guild and the other players of the Blind Abyss Empire who were most probably going to siege the Ancient Ruins due to the commotion created by those monsters.

ʼLooks like I need to call the best reinforcement that I can pull out this time,ʼ thought Shin to himself before opening his friend list and sweeping his gaze at every name registered on it.

While Shin was currently doing his own thing, a meeting was currently held in the headquarters of the Undying Guild.

Due to the recent events, their guild was starting to lose a lot of face recently. Not only their territories were being invaded, but their members were also being hunted by an overconfident Ranker who got his Title just recently.

Inside the conference hall, all of the twenty-four seats around a huge roundtable were fully occupied.

Every member of the inner circle of the Undying Guild was present. Even if they were the Immortalʼs Apostles who were always busy at dealing their own things or the Elders of the Inner Court who were managing the guild on the surface, all of them freed their schedules just to attend this particular meeting.

After all, this kind of gathering was quite rare for them.

Because of their presence, the temperature inside the room was becoming colder and colder every passing second. Not only were their ʼkilling intentsʼ were sipping out from their body, but it was also because of the person sitting on the head seat.

No one dared to open their mouths as they knew that something terrible was going to happen on whoever tried to talk.

But at the same time, enduring such strong pressure was pretty hard to bear. That was why they were also releasing a strong pressure of their own to prevent themselves from being crushed by it.

And because of that, the entire room was seemingly about to explode due to the chaotic atmosphere within the room because of the clashing pressure released by each player inside the room.

Regardless, everyone chose to stay silent since this situation was much better than being the target of their Guild Leaderʼs wrath.

That situation continued for a couple of minutes, before Immortal finally decided to talk. ”Letʼs cut off the chase and directly discuss the main issues that we currently have.”

He then took a brief pause to sweep his gaze at every person inside the room. And when he saw that no one wanted to talk, he slightly nodded his head before continuing. ”We are currently pressed in time, so I will divide all of the jobs personally. That way, we can move with accuracy.”

He trailed his words for a moment to release an overwhelming pressure that made everyone present inside the room have a hard time breathing. ”But make sure to do your respective jobs properly and avoid any failures.”

”I donʼt need to tell you the outcome of those who failed the tasks given to them, right?” he added while putting a little more killing intent alongside his words.

After that, he immediately retrieved the killing intent that he was releasing before resuming. ”Letʼs make this a little simple. The Apostles are going to form a team of three before moving to different parts of the Blind Abyss Empire to deal with the troublemakers who are messing with us.”

”As for the rest, you guys are tasked to focus on fending off the members of the Central Order who are trying to get a slice of our pie. Just make sure to hold them at bay until all the pieces fall in the right place.”

He took another pause to form a huge grin with his lips before continuing. ”As for the rat who is running around in our home turf, I will deal with him personally.”
