I Just Want to Cultivate Quietly and Farm

Chapter 188: Chapter 145: Unexpected Incident

Ever since the last time, when they rescued the Qing Xuan Sect elites and killed nine Demon Monarchs of the Demon Sect, the Nine Demons Sect suffered a heavy blow and became more low-profile in their actions.

The situation of the Qing Xuan Sect has improved a lot, however, the war of the Five Sects Alliance to open up the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain Range is still ongoing. Over the past thirty years, many elite disciples have died on the front lines of this exploration, while a lot of new blood has also entered the sect.

The Qing Xuan Sect basically maintains a state of neither strong nor expansive, with slow development.

After scanning with his Divine Sense, Li Mu found nothing interesting today.

Hmm?

Just as Li Mu was about to withdraw his Divine Sense, he suddenly discovered two figures sneaking into the Celestial Profound Peak of the Qing Xuan Sect, conspiring for unknown purposes.

The Celestial Profound Peak of the Qing Xuan Sect is one of the sect’s Seven Main Peaks, housing the Heaven-Ascending Tower and the Tribulation Crossing Platform, places of daily activity for many Inner Sect disciples, and is also one of the hubs of the sect’s grand array.

The Heaven-Ascending Tower, like the Hundred Refinement Spirit Tower of Hundred Refinement Peak, is one of the treasures of the Qing Xuan Sect. It is a Tier Six Spiritual Artifact with a Tower Spirit, and as its name suggests, it possesses the ability to ascend to the heavens. This tower is the main site for assessing the sect’s disciples, honing their combat skills, and testing their talents.

Foundation Establishment disciples can consume a portion of Sect Contribution to challenge the Heaven-Ascending Tower. Under the protection of the Guardian Array, blessed by the Tower Spirit, they can compete freely, hone their skills, and climb the Heaven-Ascending Tower.

The Heaven-Ascending Tower has a hundred floors, each with a defender. Successfully defending a floor once grants a reward from the Spirit Tower. If not choosing to defend, the disciple gains the qualification to continue the challenge. The higher the challenge level, the richer the rewards, ...

In short, the higher you climb in the Heaven-Ascending Tower, the more outstanding your talent is.

Of course, there is a requirement to challenge the Heaven-Ascending Tower: the participant must be under a hundred years of bone age and have cultivation above Foundation Establishment.

Li Mu fully meets these conditions, but to keep a low profile, he’s never participated in the Heaven-Ascending Tower challenge nor visited the Celestial Profound Peak, only occasionally glancing over it with his Divine Sense without noticing anything worth noting.

However, today, Li Mu unexpectedly discovered two special figures.

One fat, one thin, both Golden Core cultivators, wearing the True Disciple Robes of the Qing Xuan Sect. If Li Mu remembered correctly, the fat one was called Lin Xiancai, and the thin one, Pei Yuanzi.

Instead of heading to the Heaven-Ascending Tower or the Tribulation Crossing Platform, they were heading towards the array hub of the Qing Xuan Sect’s Mountain Protection Array. Their actions were suspicious; Li Mu couldn’t help but pay attention to their every move.

The Mountain Protection Array of the Qing Xuan Sect is called the Seven Extremes Illusionary Killing Array. It uses the Spirit Veins of the sect’s seven main peaks as its foundation, with effects of an Illusionary Killing Array, capable of summoning a Heaven and Earth Sword for unparalleled slaughter.

Each of the Qing Xuan Sect’s seven main peaks has an array hub used to connect the Spirit Veins of the seven peaks.

The array hub of Celestial Profound Peak is located in a secret cave behind the Heaven-Ascending Tower. Inside, there’s a Mountain Guardian Spirit Beast - a Tier Five Merak Spirit Turtle, co-guarding with the Tower Spirit.

However, the fat and thin Golden Core disciples somehow fooled the Tower Spirit, released a filthy Spiritual Object to poison the Mountain Guardian Spirit Beast, the Tier Five Merak Spirit Turtle, causing it to fall into a deep sleep. Without hesitation, they sneaked into the array hub cave, taking out some array discs and magical artifacts to prepare to sabotage the Mountain Protection Array.

Seeing this, Li Mu immediately guessed something and sighed helplessly. He certainly wouldn’t let them succeed.

These two fellows are surely from another sect or are insiders from the Demon Sect.

Their purpose in infiltrating the Qing Xuan Sect is to sabotage the Qing Xuan Sect’s Mountain Protection Array.

It seems that although the Qing Xuan Sect appears calm on the surface, there’s already a force ready for invasion in the shadows. Once the Qing Xuan Sect’s Mountain Protection Array is broken, it might be the time for this unknown force to invade.

Seeing that in one or two years the Five Elements Spirit Plants will mature and promoting to Nascent Soul is within reach, Li Mu doesn’t want to become a homeless loser at this time.

With a wave of his hand, Li Mu infused a thick True Essence into a Tier Four Top-Grade Spirit Sword soaring through the Golden Essence Array.

Immediately, with a buzzing sound, the Tier Four Gold Element Spirit Sword transformed into a golden profound eagle and fiercely flew out of the Golden Essence Array. It transformed into a golden light, darting towards the secret cave of the Celestial Profound Peak at lightning speed.

The Gold Element Spirit Sword, swift and fierce, left a golden rainbow in the sky, instantly merging into the array hub’s secret residence of the Celestial Profound Peak.

”Ah!”

Soon, a series of miserable screams echoed, followed by intense sounds of weapon clashes.

The fat and thin figures were forced out of the array hub’s secret cave by a Tier Four Spirit Sword, tumbling out with their bodies covered in sword wounds.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye.

Near the Ascension Platform, thousands of Foundation Establishment disciples and Golden Core disciples in line to enter the tower looked on in astonishment, unable to comprehend the situation.

”What happened? Whose sword is that elder’s, and why is it attacking Senior Brother Lin, Senior Brother Pei?”

”Senior Brother Lin and Senior Brother Pei seem to have been forced out from the forbidden area.”

”What’s going on? Why did Senior Brother Lin and Senior Brother Pei enter the forbidden area?”

”Where is Senior Spirit Turtle? Why hasn’t it appeared?”

...

The multitude of Foundation Establishment disciples and Golden Core disciples surrounded Lin Xiancai and Pei Yuanzi, discussing fervently, with no one daring to step forward and help.

That golden spirit sword was extremely sharp, and its Sword Qi exceedingly strong. Even a late-stage Golden Core cultivator could hardly withstand a single strike from it.

The reason Lin Xiancai and Pei Yuanzi managed to hold on under the sword and keep their lives was because the spirit sword showed mercy.

Realizing that Lin Xiancai and Pei Yuanzi had been driven out from the forbidden area by the Gold Element Spirit Sword, the Guardian Elder of Celestial Profound Peak’s expression changed drastically. He immediately reacted, scanning the array cave with his Divine Sense to inspect the situation.
